Congratulations, Obama

posted at 11:37 pm on November 4, 2008 by Allahpundit

One of the last things Dean Barnett said to me was that, as best he could tell, Barack Obama is “a good guy and a decent man.” I don’t think he’d mind me telling you that, especially under the circumstances. It’s a testament to his generosity of spirit that even in the heat of a campaign, with every reason to think the worst of his opponent, Dean couldn’t help but give him the benefit of the doubt. That’s Barnett all over, and that’s what made him an indispensable man whom we’ve been forced, horrendously, to dispense with.

I offer that as comfort to those of you who have no faith in The One but who do have faith in, and abiding affection for, DB. My guess is he’d have handled the news tonight with the same magnanimity that distinguished all of his writing. So in that spirit, congratulations to Barry O on a race superbly run and to our country for not having let the wrong reasons deter it from making the wrong choice. I’ll never be a fan, but I swear I’ll never take a nutroots posture either in relishing his failures because it helps my party. Like it or not, he’s my president. As a great man once said, country first.

I love the people that quote a book of fairy tales by man for men. Have you heard from any snakes yet? Have you figured out yet the increase in the world population without incest “in the beginning”? Adam, Eve, Cain and Able. That book of fairy tales doesn’t mention anyone else created at “the beginning“. If you believe that crap then “god” condones incest and as a true believer so must you.

In America’s history, we have elected good Presidents and bad Presidents. Some Presidents have gone from bad to good, others from good to bad during their term in office.

This time, we did not elect a President. We have just 232 year old democracy fail and get overrun by nothing more than a boy-band/ American Idol style marketing gimmick.

Barack Obama is the same terrorist and corruption supporting, racist, compulsive lying, narcissistic, Marxist who has never legitimately accomplish anything in his entire Affirmative Action driven life today that he was yesterday.

He he is no more worth of respect than he is of the office that he will occupy. I am saddened that our country has been allowed to degenerate this far and for the first time in my life, I am embarrassed to be an American.

Congratulating Obama on winning the Presidency is like congratulating a thief for stealing your TV and not getting caught. Not only is he not MY President, he is not and will never be President… no matter what his address may be.

Its like when Clinton was g’damming all over the place at one of his events after he was in. I said then, he wasn’t President material, and when you see Obama sitting there signing his first Bill you’ll gulp and realize this guy is making laws before your eyes. Oh just wait, there’s much more disappointment to come. They are already backing out of promises that they spewed off to get in office. ahh sit and watch the ridiculousness.

Good news from this, it’s back to playing Yatzee or chess after tons of public school homework weeknights. Went to my son’s elementry school today to help the teacher and hang out for the day just to listen. Little children yelling obama thru the halls and a deep discussion with a little girl who is so afraid. All I could do is ask if she believes in herself and her Maker. She seemed uplifted.

Your intellect and morals are outstanding. /sarc

You offer verbal abuse and violence instead of defending your beliefs. What you are lacking is a rational brain. I’m sure I’ve seen you on the Jerry Springer show defending incest and claiming a snake told you it was OK. Considering what comes out of your brain stem there must be a long history of incest in your family. I know you won’t take umbrage since your book of fairy tales makes clear Cain and Able had to have sex with their mother or a sister that isn’t mentioned. When I was a teenager we use to joke, “incest is best”. Is that true? How was moms? I hate to tell you this but because of your microscopic dick she faked an orgasm to help your sense of worth.

Keep throwing hardballs and I’ll knock them right back at you at the speed of light.

True to his word, and following through on the bet he made to leave HA for good if Obama gained the presidency stole the election fair and square, Manly has gone off to other cyberpastures.

Chimpy, that Book you’re scoffing at is gonna make a “monkey” out of you, unless you repent and do what it says. We all have knowledge of God. Creation is proof of the Creator so we are without excuse (Romans 1:20). Doesn’t matter what you believe. Doesn’t make any difference. Your judment day is coming and if you make a mistake when it comes to your eternal salvation, it’s the ultimate mistake to make, cuz your gonna lose your soul.

MadisonConservative on November 5, 2008 at 9:40 PM

That’s incredibly flawed logic, Madison. As for Christians, God has not kept us in darkness. His perfect plan has been revealed (I Thessalonians 5:1-6). In fact, the very last thing Jesus instructed His followers to do was, “Go ye therefore, and TEACH ALL NATIONS, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: TEACHING THEM to observe all things WHATSOEVER I HAVE COMMANDED YOU: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19-20

bilups on November 6, 2008 at 3:44 PM

And don’t give me those links. I’ve read them. In fact, news looked bleak last week and markets actually bounced back. What we’re seeing is a direct result of the market discounting obama’s stated policy objectives 6-9 months hence. If McCain had won tuesday, we’d be UP 10% on the week. About that, I have no doubt. That you’re a moron, I also have no doubt.

bilups on November 6, 2008 at 3:53 PM

The market is voting on Obama an it is a bit more sensible than the voting public. I think he got a distinct “NO”. To bad we have to endure four years of utter stupidity before we can elect someone reasonable. I’m not sure that my savings will hold out that long.

duff65 on November 6, 2008 at 4:01 PM

It is intellectually vacuous to argue that the market losing roughly 1,000 points and Obama’s acceptance are coincidental, and that other market news are driving this downward trend. In many respects, investors base their behaviors on modeling future trends, governmental actions and presidential policy. It doesn’t require mental gymnastics to see that the market is not taking kindly to the electorates decision, nor does it take mental gymnastics to see that Russia’s recent move near Poland is Obama’s first test. And yes, he will appease.

I wonder if Obama even knows how to salute?

The King James Bible is the literal word of God, but I don’t fight Christians who use other versions. Let me ask you something. If I could prove to you that the Holy Bible was true and that God made the world just like He said He did, would you follow Jesus Christ?

I already follow the basic tenants of Jesus even though I don’t believe he was the son of God. He was a great philosopher espousing his and other peoples ideas which are just common sense rules for a civil society. But if you can prove the world is only about 10,000 years old, instead of billions, proof with facts that what your reading is the literal word of God, I might reconsider. Let me ask you a something. Those other Christians, is their version the literal word of God? Will a person in a remote part of the world that never heard about your “savior” burn in hell? Will Jewish people burn in hell because they don’t believe what you do. Their still waiting for the savior and believe you are mistaken.

I appreciate your calm disposition on what is an explosive subject for some here. I believe you are sincere and understand what Jesus, the philosopher, wanted to achieve. You are way ahead of me. I have a hard time offering up the other cheek to be slapped when really frustrated.

Chimpy on November 6, 2008 at 11:03 PM

It appears you Rip Van Winkles just woke up and missed all the economic news this last year, especially the last 3 months. I have been out of the market since Dow 12,500 about 10 months ago.

Don’t you remember Dow 14,093 on 10/12/07, dropping 5642 points to close at 8451 on 10/10/08? What caused that loss?

This year on 5/2 – Dow 13058, on 9/29 – Dow 10365, a 2700 point drop before any polls were conclusive.

From 10/27 to 11/4 this year the market gained 1450 points even though almost all polls, liberal pundits and a few conservative pundits called an Obama win.

When people took profits after a 1450 gain, it’s Obama’s fault? I have a bridge for sale. Anyone interested?

And this really is the problem Chimpy, and why I asked you the question. Even if I could prove to you God exists and He created this world just like He said He did, you even said yourself, you still don’t know if you’d follow Him. And that’s really what this is all about. See, the reason they scoff at this Book is because of their sin, not because of their science. There is no scientific reason to reject the Bible. Truth is, they don’t like this Bible because it chaps their hide. I mean, the Book indicates, no lying, no cheating, no stealing, no adultery, no pre-marital sex, no pornography, uh, and in alot of cases that would that effect their lifestyle so they don’t wanna change. They’d have to cancel any subscriptions to Playboy or Penthouse, or something like that. In 2nd Peter chapter 3 it says, “Knowing this first, there shall come in the last days scoffers.” And it says they are going to walk after their own lusts. Never seen an acception. It’s always the case. The reason they scoff is because of their lust. You can count on it. 2nd Peter said so.

Let me ask you a something. Those other Christians, is their version the literal word of God?

When you want the truth as opposed to asking questions just to scoff, I’d be more than happy answering this for you.

Will a person in a remote part of the world that never heard about your “savior” burn in hell?

Again, when you want real answer I am more than happy to help you, otherwise I’m only wasting my time.

Will Jewish people burn in hell because they don’t believe what you do.

Same answer as above.

Their still waiting for the savior and believe you are mistaken.

“The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.” John 4:25-26

I appreciate your calm disposition on what is an explosive subject for some here. I believe you are sincere …

I don’t want you to go to hell.

Your reply is just what I expected, evasion/dodge. I said “I might reconsider“. How can you take exception to that? People scoffed at the idea that the world was round. Reasonable people said then, I might reconsider if Columbus comes back. Coming back was proof the world was round. I am an agnostic because I can’t prove or disprove there is a creator. I have an open mind and have reconsidered and changed beliefs as facts are presented to me. Accusing me of asking questions, “just to scoff”, is not WWJD. It’s hypocritical. Even if you believe that, it is still no reason to not answer my questions. Accusing scientist you don’t know of lying, cheating, stealing, adultery, pre-marital sex, having subscriptions to Playboy/Penthouse and lust is very sanctimonious.

Chimpy on November 8, 2008 at 4:36 AM

I’m not dodging anybody, especially you. You don’t really want the truth and no amount of evidence will convince those who love their sin (Hosea 4:17) and don’t want God to control their lives. When you start being honest with yourself, me, but more importantly with GOD, then I’ll be more than happy to spend some time with you, and show you that there is a great deal of scientific evidence that supports the Bible. Until then, I don’t see the point in spending what to me is valuable time answering every little hateful attack from scoffers like you when they are just like Doritos: Defend away, we’ll make more.
