The robot humps tonight.

saint kansas on November 4, 2008 at 12:58 PM

I predict I’ll be drinking A LOT tomorrow … and avoiding television and the Internet for at least the next six months or so.

My biggest (selfish) concern: I just can’t handle serving in the military as this empty-suit soulless Amerikka-hater as my Commander-in-Chief. I swear I’m thinking about getting out because of it. And I’m not alone. At drill last month, EVERYONE agreed. Not one dissenting voice. Our instructors, even the senior officers, all voiced similar sentiments. The military is seriously concerned.

You’ll be the ones losing your money and jobs if Idiot-Boy wins. We’ll be doing the dying.

Sigh. Like I said, I predict drinking. And no TV for a long time.

Good luck to all of you. You may need it.

Professor Blather on November 4, 2008 at 12:58 PM

I would assume that AOL’s audience leans right? I voted conservative answers and found I was mostly in the majority. What gives? Even Huffing-a-Ton-and-Blows polls leaned right!

jbtripp on November 4, 2008 at 12:53 PM
Wrong. AOL has a mass majority of Liberals.

upinak on November 4, 2008 at 12:54 PM

The AOL Straw Polls picked McCain every time even with votes in the millions before they changed it to make it harder to game it. Even with the smaller voters, still in the hundreds of thousands, McCain still won every time.

After cleaning the toilets (in 5+ years of marriage, I have yet to allow my wife to clean one), we walked the kids up to vote. It’s a beautiful day here in MO, and I am happier than I’ve been in weeks. We’re going to win.

jazz_piano on November 4, 2008 at 12:59 PM

Hate to be the overriding pessimist here, but… I honestly don’t see how McCain can win this election tonight.

No I don’t think that.

I think many of us are Americans. And we are ALL Nervous of the outcome of this election more so then others. Is it fair to say that we as a Nation (on either side of the political spectrum) are worried.

Many of us do not want our lives run and other do not know how to cope without having thier lives run for them.

This is making many people, aggitated, angry, nervous, pissy, witchy and just plain going out of their minds.

I am worried about this outcome…. but I am also a early 30’s voter. I am allowed to be worried more so then many others because my generation is just… plain stupid!

I was kidding (mostly), but I’ll admit to wondering if our standards for voting are too lax. We don’t trust kids under 21 to drink responsibly, but we let them vote? And should people who don’t pay taxes get to decide how to spend our tax dollars?

Understandable. I opted back out due to family illnesses i couldn’t control, but Zi think it also bothered me that B.O. would be Commander in Chief. Let’s be honest. It would be like serving under Am-a-dinner-jacket and wondering if you were going to have to eat dirt in the dessert to survive the next 4 years.

Right about now, NWA BHO court is in full effect.
Judge Ayers presiding in the case of NWA BHO versus the police department.
Prosecuting attourneys are MC Axelrod, Ice Powell, and Michelle muthaf*ckin O.
Order, order, order. Ice Powell, take the muthaf*ckin stand.
Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth
and nothin but the truth so help your black azz?

Why don’t you tell everybody what the f*ck you gotta say?

F*ck tha police
Comin straight from the (Weather) underground
Young n!gga got it bad cuz I’m brown
And not the other color so police think
They have the authority to kill a minority

F*ck that sh!t, cuz I ain’t Teh One
For a punk muthaf*cka with a badge and a gun
To be beatin on, and throwin in jail
We could go toe to toe in the middle of a cell

RIP, Eazy E.

This is a prediction I made elsewhere on the internets a week ago, and I’m still mostly comfortable with it:

The “swing” states:

Colorado: Obama +5
Florida: Obama +2
Indiana: McCain +3
Iowa: Obama +8
Minnesota: Obama +10
Missouri: McCain +1
Nevada: Obama +3
New Hampshire: Obama +3
New Mexico: Obama +7
North Carolina: McCain +2
Ohio: Obama +2
Pennsylvania: Obama +8
Virginia: Obama +5
Wisconsin: Obama +8

Total: Obama 325, McCain 213

As I turned into my polling place and saw the sign, “Vote Here”, I couldn’t help but get goose bumps and tears in my eyes. Having lived under a dictatorship before, voting truly is a moving experience. Dr. Conservative on November 4, 2008 at 1:20 PM

Well Dr. I got my best friend (who is a conservative Dem) to become a Republican who is also…. wait for it… Black. Yep a black woman!

I just point out what she thought and heard but didn’t research and showed her what the problem was. She didn’t realize that a lot of the crap she was getting was literally fed to her. She eventually realized I wasn’t lying to her and converted as I like to call it.

That is all… just show them… every time they are wrong. But not in a harmful or put down way. Just show them what they thought was right and let them figure it out. It does work.

I left active duty Nov 06 and had been missing the military a bit. I became a dad in Nov 07 (can’t believe she’s almost 1!) so I didnt want to go back active and make my wife and kid move every few years. I still wanted to try and do my part so last saturday I oined the Guard. It was REAL tough taking the enlistment oath when it came to the following the orders of the President part. I’m in WA, so the part about following the orders of the Gov was tough to say too, unless tonight goes well.

Barry as commander in chief will be tough to swallow if it does indeed turn out that way. I feel as if I still owe the country, so I dont regret going back in. Barry can never diminish the heroic acts of our greatest patriots like Washington, Adams, Lincoln, etc. If the age of obama comes to pass it will be merely a brief chapter in this long story of the greatest nation ever on God’s green earth.

That being said, I completely understand those military members who have sacrificed and given more than can reasonably be expected wanting to leave the service. Nobody wants to work for a boss who they know doesn’t respect them. I fear we will lose too many great leaders this way.

I hope hawkdriver runs for office though. You’d be great!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Thanks for joining our ranks here in America…we were built by people like you…and Professor Blather joined the service to allow people a chance of the same.

Make a website as well. I have “friends” as Manly could account for and a few others whom know me. I can get your stuff out to others as well via the internet.

What comes around goes around is my motto. I help you… it will help me down the road.

Not sure I can handle that kind of volume to begin with, but it’s in the plans.

break

Although Rush is going on about the BPanthers in the “City of Brotherly Love” (BWAHAHAHAHAHA) snort, sorry, he also sounds very confident.

hawkdriver on November 4, 2008 at 1:28 PM

LOL. I am a genius. A legend in my own mind.

We attend an inter-racial church. Our pastor spoke recently to a Black woman about God knowing us even before we’re born. She had never heard about this (!) and decided to vote for McCain.

It’s possible that Obama will get a smaller percentage of the Black vote than Gore and Kerry did . . . watch closely. Black people are wising up to Planned Parenthood’s genocidal ambitions toward them.

jazz_piano on November 4, 2008 at 1:31 PM

The media will be surprised tonight when John Murtha and Al Franken suffer defeat. If you watch one of the several affiliates of the ONN, you will see glum faces as the states fall one by one:

Pennsylvania goes to McCain Palin
Virginia goes to McCain Palin
Florida goes to McCain Palin
Ohio goes to McCain Palin

The Obama News Network (ONN) has affiliates formerly known as NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, etc.

jazz yep.

I have quite a few black friends (whom I love to death) and the ones who are democrat are good people, just different opinions.

But here is the twist. All of my black friends (dems or repubs or other) are ALL voting McCain.

Great thread….thanks…

Still stuck on stupid in the teens and twenties. Most haven’t grown up and I doubt they will.

upinak on November 4, 2008 at 1:10 PM

Although stupidity knows no generational boundaries, this very phenomenon of a higher proportion of irrational though in younger generations is why so many of us are feeling like our country has been stolen from us.

It certainly isn’t the same country it was when I signed my enlistment papers or my DD-214.

Marine_Bio on November 4, 2008 at 1:34 PM

I’m pulling for McCain/Palin.

GOD SAVE THE REPUBLIC.

madmonkphotog on November 4, 2008 at 1:37 PM

Florida undecideds are voting for McCain.

Cuban4McCain on November 4, 2008 at 1:38 PM

I don’t know about some of you – I still feel confident for our side! This is still a GREAT country! One where everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how wrong they are! The best thing about this election is that it has gotten so many people off their duff! People ARE involved! I don’t take my voting privilege lightly because until I was a naturalized citizen I was not allowed to vote! I became a member of this great country in 1975 and have not missed an election since! No, not all have gone the way I voted, but vote I did! It is tough to be in Illinois – where I had never heard of Mr. Obama until he ran for national office. We “enjoy” a very bad business climate here, but that still does not stop me from running my business the way I need to – I have 8 people employed in my company.
PLEASE DON’T LOOSE HOPE (that is a word that’s been bantered around a lot lately!!). Remember, the fat lady is not even on the stage yet – let alone that she has not opened her mouth to sing!!!!

In NC, they are all voting for Obama, even a couple who have been conservative Republicans…they just can’t help themselves.

Hooah!

I hope hawkdriver runs for office though. You’d be great!

I couldn’t do it. For one, it would be too much like the staff work I do now rather than flying. Plus, the media makes it very hard to be conservative and not be “perfect”. I don’t know how most Conservatives in the spotlight handle the scrutiny. I will become more involved and supportive actively after I retire with the party. This was the first election in a long time where I was able to help with phones and surveys and such at our local office.

I hope I don’t embarrass you by saying that after having lived with my brother a summer in Orlando and my experience with Cuban Americans in the Army, I have never met a group of Americans who are more rabidly patriotic than you folks are. And I salute you.

hawkdriver on November 4, 2008 at 1:44 PM

Ugh. I just saw on cnn.com (of all places) that Karl Rove is predicting a landslide win for Obama. WTF?!?

He can fork off.

My daughter “voted” today. She’s 5 so I made a ballot for her.

She voted for McCain.

She’s talking about it now. It’s something to hear.

From the mouth of babes.

Ultimately it boils down to where someone’s identity lies. The most poignant example is in the linked photo. I don’t know him, but this man is my brother in sprit.

Republigal

Rove’s numbers are based on analysis of the past 14-day trends of every public poll. So, they are only valid if the polls are valid. I question the validity.

McCain wins 279-259
