Looks like the Axelrod kids are busy.

Jim Treacher on November 4, 2008 at 12:26 PM

Went to the polls at noon here in northern Virginia (DC suburbs) and there were literally no people in line. Maybe they figured that after the Redskin game, voting was superfluous.

NNtrancer on November 4, 2008 at 12:26 PM

voted.

Love that 81% think the media will lose credibility if Obama loses :D

YellowDawg on November 4, 2008 at 12:27 PM

McCain and Palin for the win. Oh, yeah.

Most normal Americans are at work today, Jim. Watch McCain’s numbers begin skyrocket after 4 PM.

Robert Duvall just called me and told me that the election is going to be very close. He needs me to go vote…Hank Williams Jr called yesterday as well. I didn’t know Robert Duvall was a Republican! I’ve already voted here in the N.panhandle of WV. Lines around the school gym for the first time since I’ve lived here. Go Mav! Go Sarahcudda!

Now back to ignoring the computer and TV (with the exception of Rush.)

dish on November 4, 2008 at 12:29 PM

Sarah will win the election. McCain will owe her big time.

fogw on November 4, 2008 at 12:30 PM

All right, “who will win” virtual dead heat. Good stuff.

Darth Executor on November 4, 2008 at 12:30 PM

Obama spent 15 mins voting. I guess he was trying to find the “present” box.

saltydogg14 on November 4, 2008 at 12:31 PM

Should be a slaughter in WV – didn’t it go for Hillary! big time only to see the two superdelegates go for His Changeyness?

HUGE turnout here outside of Philly in total GOP land. They’re parked on the road like it’s a soccer tournament in progress.

Splendidly played, Sir!

SlimyBill on November 4, 2008 at 12:32 PM

Walked into my polling station today, got a number to stand in line. Saw some neighbors, chatted a bit. Opened up the book I had brought with me and realized it was the wrong one. (Reading a trilogy and brought #3, not #2.) Took my number, went home, exchanged books, and went back. The line had advanced and I had less than 20 minutes to wait.

Piece of cake. The Poll Captain (is that the offical title of the station?) said we were the busiest polling station in the county.

I don’t know if that’s a good sign or bad.

By the way, the trilogy is pretty good – Axis of Time by John Birmingham. Alternative history. I strongly recommend it! ;-)

Grantman on November 4, 2008 at 12:32 PM

Interesting state by state results in that poll.

bilups on November 4, 2008 at 12:33 PM

My hopes and prayers ask that this country makes the right decision. Which is, of course, John McCain.

McCain takes both the popular and electoral vote. Republican turnout is much higher than expected. Youth vote doesn’t show. Heavy crossover democrat votes for McCain. Independents break for McCain three to one. Media and pollsters shocked, begin to blame each other.

No lines here in Vail, CO.
My eye twitched involuntarily as I began to fill in the box next to the name McCain.
I never thought the day would come.

road2utopia on November 4, 2008 at 12:37 PM

“Election Day fun!”
It’s more like having a colonoscopy without the meds.
Bill Clinton called me here in S. Cal. to tell me that I must vote against Prop 8 to reinstate the marriage to it’s former status, (4 million votes were made null by 4 members of the Cal Supreme court because they thought it was unconstitutional to deny gays their ‘civil right’ to marry and pay taxes to the public schools to indoctrinate the kids to their agenda).
Bill Clinton telling me that I must accept gay marriage is pretty darn rich, but it’s understandable. His ‘marriage’ is a joke too.

take Cap’n Ed’s map, toss Virginia and Iowa into the MCCain column, but take Nevada away and give it to Barry, and voila, you have the final totals. Mac 288, Barry 250.

I have it on very reliable sources that devine intervention is taking place in PA.

Was surprised to see Romney out poll Palin for 2012. He was a do nothing governor of MA. Retired on the job. Took a page from the big O’s playbook and voted present.

I hope Stevens wins his seat in Alaska so Palin can eventually replace him when he has to go to jail. Plus one less Demo-rat in Congress.

I live in north Louisiana; my line was about 15 minutes long. I noticed LONG lines at other sites as I drove back home. The turnout is quite large. We have an important senate race in our state that I’m watching in addition to, of course, the Presidential race. I think the Landrieu/Kennedy race is closer than people think, but probably South La. will pull her over. Damn.

So, we’ll go to the bus station and throw a bunch of winos in a van and get them to vote for a pack of cigarettes but our military won’t get to.

Remember when the Democrats lawyers were scouring Florida clutching a memo describing how to void military votes in 2000?

This is why I’m a Republican!

Is there any more deserving demographic than our military when it comes to cutting someone some slack over the rigid election laws. I have been the Voter Assistance Officer for a unit once as an additional duty. It’s not easy.

You know, the ONE thing the FED could do which would actually be truly bipartisan would be election universality. I mean, every state…same procedure…ID required on site and invisible ink on your thumbprint which lasts DAYS. Oh, forget early voting. WHAT KIND OF AWFUL IDEA WAS THAT???? If anything, it might need to be three-day voting…or something like that. Common sense, America. Sheesh.
