Video: Michelle on Obama, coal, and the media; Update: Palin quotes Michelle?

Red meat for breakfast garnished with two minutes on Ohio’s snooping on Joe the Plumber. Doocy wants to know why the Chronicle didn’t make a bigger deal of Obama’s coal comments in January. I want to know why McCain didn’t make a bigger deal of Obama’s coal comments in, say, July. The audio’s available on the paper’s website for any enterprising campaign oppo researcher to harvest, just as audio of The One’s comments on the Warren Court and wealth redistribution from 2001 was available on the Chicago public radio site (at least until recently). Maverick had the nomination locked up by mid-February; Obama was the clear frontrunner by the end of that month and would just as clearly be preoccupied with Hillary for a long while. What was the RNC’s research team doing between March and early June? Or have they had these clips the whole time and inexplicably decided to hold them for the final two weeks instead of using them to build a narrative early on about The One’s riskiness on energy and the economy? At the very least, they should have dropped them before the debates so that McCain could hammer them in front of a big audience.
I can understand why they held Wright until the bitter end: McCain obviously wasn’t comfortable hitting Obama on his associations, which explains why even Ayers didn’t end up in the mix until things turned desperate in October. What’s the excuse with stuff like the coal audio?
Update: I wonder where the ‘Cuda picked up the “truth serum” line…
But she recovered to offer a stinging attack on Obama’s double speak, suggesting the city of San Francisco has a truth-telling effect on the Democratic presidential candidate.
“There must be something about San Francisco,” she said. “I heard on Fox News today, it’s like a truth serum where when he’s there, he seems to be more candid.”

While I would like to think that this latest lie by BO would put McCain over the top, I seriously doubt that it will even make the major news markets. Page 6 at best and nothing on local nightly news.
But I will not give up Hope that the press might Change.

Dems don’t care about the facts. Barry can do no wrong and the msm has covered for him. It may be too late! Vote and pray!

I’ll agree with you there. Bcs those people are blind. The want Hope & Change. They like fantasy.
They are people who don’t actually produce anything for anyone. But they are the first to become angry bcs they have no power to run their latte machines.
If you cap anything in the energy industry, you WILL bring about more economic ruin.
Everything that is made, traded, moved, produced, packaged, stored, consumed etc depends upon energy from somehwere, be it:
1. nuclear (the toxic waste causes cancer & pollutes groundwater!)
2. hydroelectric (it kills the fish! Dismantle them!)
3. Geothermal-only useful in areas where it’s feasable
4. Oil-we know that’s bad!
5. Coal-evil stuff.
6. Steam-I’m sure it kills fish somehow.
What am I missing?

I think McCain expected the media to go after that association even if he was going to take the high road. He probably assumed if a Republican had a background with a person like that reporters would do the associating with the blessing of the candidate.

High road my redneck A$$ & the msm hates Mac But we will drag him across the finish line Go MaCuda

actually watching the entire video in context actually in my opinion defeats the argument that was made. He is clearly talking about the old traditional form of coal producing and not clean coal. We cant bash libs for skewing things and then go right around and do the same thing…

Lots of work to do, small government, limited enumerated powers conservatives. Win or lose, people are willing to give more power to the government that I could possibly believe. Break out the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Quote and read these beautiful words. The words of our founding fathers speak the immutable truth of how we must fight to preserve our liberties.

Michelle–or anybody–what are the names of those female CNN reporters who sighed over Obama on the plane? I’d like to know so whenever I see them on the air I never forget how in the tank for the left they are.

So much spinning, so much bullsh*t taking his words out of context…
The real quote:
“That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants are being built, they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted-down caps that are imposed every year. So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted. That will also generate billions of dollars that we can invest in solar, wind, biodiesel, and other alternative energy approaches…
…But this notion of no coal, I think, is an illusion. Because the fact of the matter is, is that right now we are getting a lot of our energy from coal. And China is building a coal-powered plant once a week. So what we have to do then is figure out how can we use coal without emitting greenhouse gases and carbon. And how can we sequester that carbon and capture it. If we can’t, then we’re gonna still be working on alternatives.”

C’mon folks, leftist idiots would vote for Obama is he mutilated children in his front yard on National T.V. McCain has gotten this far riding the backs of Sarah Palin, Joe the Plummer, and Tito the Builder and this further proves the G.O.P. is stupid for nominating McCain in the first place, let’s face it, the G.O.P. no longer supports Conservatives. Get ready for Adolf Obama and his National Socialists and remember, Obama is the one who said the First and Second Amendment are “Obsolete”.

Got a point there, but I’m not giving up, yet !
pambi on November 3, 2008 at 4:23 PM
Bankrupting any future coal burning power plants will free up more coal for Obama’s comrades enjoying most most favored nation status.
There goes one more potential corporate tax payer. Looks as if that 95% just got smaller.
poorhouse_patriot on November 3, 2008 at 4:30 PM
I am sceptically optimistic that McCain will win. I am VERY concerned that if McCain won’t fight for himself, will he fight for us but ANYTHING is better than the puppet Obama and his puppet master, the admitted Nazi sympathizer, George Soros.
nelsonknows on November 3, 2008 at 4:35 PM
Glad to see Palin on the stick! ;-)

Three examples of nothing new under the sun:
Michelle rocked on Fox.
The MSM are not covering the coal story and are likely primed to flood homes with news of anything else. I just heard of his grandmother’s demise. A sad development to be sure but somewhat timely.
Nobody has connected the coal comments to Senator Obama’s remarks which seemed to sugggest that he was fine with 4 to 5 dollar a gallon gasoline prices. Remember? He just expressed regret for the speed of the increase. And no MSM outlet had a problem with the remarks despite understanding him clearly and probably agreeing with him.
