Thanks for letting me regisiter. I’ve been wanting to post since I found the site a couple months ago.
I’m in VA an hoping like mad that McCain wins VA tomorrow as I can’t stomach another major election (governor, senate, President) win by a Democrat in the Old Dominion ( Warner pretty much has locked up the Senate seat).

Awesome. I’ve been waiting to register for a couple of months now, since I found Hot Air. I don’t think there’s a site I visit more on the web at this point.
Oh, and if you didn’t know, Hot Air got a mention on Hannity and Combs last night, along with MM.

Symbols
Sometimes I think God speaks to us in symbols.
When Bill Clinton was president, I imagined the
leader of our nation standing before the world
with his pants hanging on his knees.
I felt ashamed.
Today we see a contest between:
1. an imperfect man – a hero, and servant,
with a genuine sense of obligation to the well being
and traditional ideals of America.
2. an imperfect man – brilliant in presentation; vacuous
in character. Near perfectly styled; near empty of substance.
Open-faced in glorious generalities; concealing and secretive in specifics.
Asking, daring, the nation believe his promises of everything, in spite
of a solid, verifiable history of little to nothing to inspire such belief.
That number 2. might become president, that nearly half of our nation has embraced such a person is a stark symbol – perhaps from God.
I am nonplused.

No troll- this has been my favorite election news site for some time. As a pro-life Christian (and proud mama of seven children, two by adoption, one of those with multiple special needs), I especially connect with Ed’s posts. I have come late to the party…but have been glued to this sight ever since. I told my parents that I have been cruising the net looking for some “balanced news” since I only get what we call “the Farmer 5″ (over the air major networks…I don’t bother with cable). They told me that I needed to find “one site…you know…er…Michelle…” they couldn’t remember the name. Much to their amusement and mine, that is exactly where I ended up. I have been the family bleeding heart for decades. I can hear them now “Finally! The transformation is complete! It’s alive! IT’S ALLLLIIIIVVE!” Thank you guys for being the antidote to the evening news!

yippie skippe, I finally got here. One day before elections but better late than never. Now I get to explode on the scene with my expert analysis. McCain -53 Obama – 49. Press- deseased. America- conservatively reformulated!!
katy on November 3, 2008 at 9:01 AM
Much appreciated, MJ. But there is still much to be done and we can’t sit on out hands.
Time to get out there and fight for Mac. Make phone calls to friends and family. Chat with neighbors. Take the elderly and shut-ins to the polls so they can vote. Talk to anyone you can who hasn’t planned to vote or who may still be undecided for whatever reason.
Do not pay attention to the polls. They are completely out of whack this year. Also, pay no attention to the Drive-By media. They are in the tank for Obama.
And for GOD’S SAKE please, please do not feed the trolls or water the astroturfers – and they will be out in full force to do everything they can to depress you. Instead, invite them to vote for John McCain.
Concentrate on getting out the vote. If you’re feeling despondent, then shout for me and I’ll buoy your spirits.
McCain will win this election, folks. But he won’t win if we don’t vote.
Now get out there and make it happen!

ManlyRash on November 3, 2008 at 9:05 AM
Hi guys!
Thanks for opening up comments :)
Don’t give up!
I have never been this politically active in my life, but this election has motivated me to stand up and fight. Don’t get me wrong, I have voted in every election in which I have been eligible, even when I was registered independent and could only vote for ballot initiatives in primary races (I currently live in western PA). This election motivated me to change my registration to Republican, attend a McCain/Palin rally (I got to shake Sarah & Todd’s hands), volunteer at a Palin event (her special needs kids talk: she signed my volunteer badge :D ), and participate in phone banks (I HATE calling people I don’t know).
I have always liked McCain and voted for him in the primaries in 2000, but picking Palin was a lightning bolt for me and many, many others who have just grown weary of politics in general because it is always the same, and always distanced from our daily lives. Sarah is NOT the same old, same old. She is not just one of us, she represents the best in us: what we would hope to achieve in our lives if we could. My best friend in Ohio, who could barely be bothered to remember to vote in past elections, is now posting McCain signs on her lawn, attending Palin rallies with her daughters (with homemade t-shirts that say “Palin Girls Rule!”), and actively lobbying her friends and co-workers to vote McCain.
I never read political blogs before Palin was announced, though I followed Drudge, a variety of news sites (I have long given up on television news), and kept myself informed on the issues. I’m so glad I found this site, Ace, Hilbuzz, and others! I guess what I’m saying is, there are A LOT of people out there excited about this ticket who aren’t political junkies, or weren’t political junkies before Palin came into play.
Don’t listen to the naysayers! Don’t stop fighting! This is far to important!
vermillionsky on November 3, 2008 at 9:05 AM
Happy to finally be registered. I’ve been reading along for quite a while now.
