Carl Cameron: Optimism growing inside McCain camp

It won’t be easy but it is do-able. What’s got Maverick, Salter, and other senior aides suddenly so bubbly? Their internal polls, in all likelihood. Lead pollster Bill McInturff pronounced the race too close to call in a memo sent out late last week that claimed things were trending their way in the battlegrounds. They must have gotten more good news over the weekend. Someone had better tell Joe the Plumber because he’s sounding even more pessimistic than I am.
Stats wizard Nate Silver puts their odds at 1.9%. Click the image to watch.

Looks as if you are trying to get banned. If you want this to happen quicker rather than later I suggest you mention that linking to huffington post is no favor to us because then our clicks would contribute to their income in the way of traffic to their site. Do this about more than 3 or 4 times. Then mention that conservatives who bash the man who won the republican primary, John McCain, are helping the opposition by trashing him while he is the only person who is us against the democrat, Obama. Keep up with what you are doing and do these things as well and you should get your wish.

I’ve been praying so I’m at peace with this election. A Mac presidency means me joyously have to fight him a third of the time.
An Obambi presidency means that the gloves come off and we fight ALL the time. Purity.

Florida will go for McCain.
When Obama was in Florida today but referred to being in Ohio instead, he was resoundingly — not teasingly — booed.
The real story in the Jerry Nadler video is that Floridian Jews don’t trust Obama.

Geez, Maybe I’m nuts, but it seems so very CLEAR to me. Karl Rove is a true, true patriot (all but presidentbush here and a few other trolls will agree) and an absolute genious!.
This is Psy-ops of the greatest order. Pizz you people off (I’m including myself here)…get you mobilized, and then, at the last minute say, “X” ‘turned the tide’, now the electoral map shows, oh, golly McCain wins! He’d be Oh-so-happy to do a “my bad” on Wednesday, b-cuz he loves this Country, so doesn’t care if it’s said he called it “wrong”…this time, he ain’t workin’ for a candidate so can do his head games to his heart’s content.
I said earlier on a different thread that Fox would come out with one more positive poll…they did (toss up states) and was pooh-poohed by many.
Boy, I guess I am just flippin deluded????? Anyone else see anything here? Manly???

Seriously, in the blatantly egotistical words of Obambi, “that was taken out of context” – except in his and Obiden’s case, it wasn’t taken out of context – ever. Karl Rove was responding to what he perceived to be a weak McCain rejoinder/missed opportunity.
You keep going away and then coming back. Do you work a ferris wheel somewhere?

lorien1973 on November 3, 2008 at 10:39 PM
I hope you understand that most of us don’t respond to you because you just showed up here with no reputation whatsoever. We realize that you are as over the top as you are because if things go as you hope, you get to rub it in. When Obama loses, you will simply disappear out of embarrassment. That is called “cowardly” and “intellectually dishonest”.
If you do end up sticking around, believe me, eventually you will have to make opinions that you aren’t so sure about…..and that is when your comeuppance happens. So, if you are serious about being a member here at Hot Air, choose your behavior wisely, because all of us here live and die by our opinions and we don’t run home to mommy when things don’t go our way.

It dates back to childhood when I once got a beating while a Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoon was on television. As aq result I also suffer from acute Alcesophobia (irrational fear of moose) and if I hear someone with a goofy voice asking me to watch as he pulls a rabbit out of his hat, I pee myself.

They could drop in for spot checks to see if we have the new fluorescent bulbs installed or to see what our thermostat is set on. Of course they’ll want to check out the pantry to make sure we’re eating right since the government will be picking up our healthcare bill.
I’m with you all… the National Security Force is spooky. It could mean ANYTHING! Like hello, we’re here for your guns!
Oink on November 3, 2008 at 10:41 PM
Obama wants to do what every authoritarian socialist wants. The National Socialists (NSDAP-Nazi), International Socialists (Bolsheviks) all required a party militia (Waffen SS/MVD) as a counter to the military. The reasons are obvious and the scariest thing is that a significant portion of people would be happy to join.
Conservatives need to retake the educational system or it WILL HAPPEN, sooner or later.

Doubting the silent majority is like doubting God… Sorta. You can’t trot out a time-bomb, like Barry, without freaking out the happy suburban traditionalist.
Seems like Oreilly and others don’t get Mi Maulkin, because she takes things seriously for a change, as intellectuals are supposed to. And, Oreilly is a stupid boomer. So, what do you expect his reaction to be? Oreilly hates Coulter too, though Ann is perhaps as much a participant in the cult of self as Bill. Come to think of it, Oreilly is a flat out misogynist.

I don’t have what it takes to be in the military, TK. For one thing, I get really nervous when people start shooting at me – which, needless to say, is a real handicap in the heat of battle.
Worse yet, I can’t pee when other men are standing around me and the lack of stalls in the barracks would cause my bladder to explode which would really piss off the drill sergeant.
I leave the defense of this nation to men of a far finer calibre than I could ever hope or dream to be. Men such as yourself.
ManlyRash on November 3, 2008 at 10:45 PM
Is it only for MNF? Because if it’s not, the Redskins lost in 2004 on October 31st. I just looked it up.
MobileVideoEngineer on November 3, 2008 at 10:46 PM
Lorien – They did indeed say that, so I went and looked it up at Snopes. ESPN was mistaken. It was true for all elections from ‘36 – 2004, when the Redskins lost to the Pack and the incumbant won anyway (GW). Not that it matters, but I had to prove I wasn’t crazy (I mean, I haven’t even started drinking yet.)

URGENT!
PBS has an online poll posted asking if Sarah Palin is qualified.
Apparently the left wing knew about this in advance and are flooding the
voting with NO votes.
The poll will be reported on PBS and picked up by mainstream media.
It can influence undecided voters in swing states.
Please do two things — takes 20 seconds.
1) Click on link and vote!
Here’s the link: http://www.pbs.org/now/polls/poll-435.html
2) Then send this to every McCain-Palin supporter you know, and urge
them to vote and pass it on.
The last thing we need is PBS saying their viewers don’t think Sarah
Palin is qualified.

Off topic, Oink: Ohio is kind of a fascinating state. I’ve lived here off and on for 30 years, since high school. I’ve lived in the Cincinnati suburbs when in town, and it’s easy to forget how rural the state really is.
When I was a junior in HS, I was fortunate enough to attend a program sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars–Boys State. I can assure you that it had nothing to do with that community organizing horsesh*t that informs Obama. Twelve hundred of the most decent 17-year-old guys you’d ever want to meet. And so many of them were from small towns and were far more familiar with 4-H and Future Farmers of America than Saul Alinsky. If you’d have run McCain and Obama in a mock election with that group, you’d have had a shutout in McCain’s favor.
Let’s hope the same sentiment prevails tomorrow.
