In real life, Manly holds a disintegrating blue state together. He is Atlas holding the world on his shoulders. When he decides to shrug, and move away, much will tumble. He is welcome in so many places, that he will always have joy.

He did not endorse Joes #2. Said he didn’t know enough about him.

Biden is ‘proving’ he doesn’t make gaffes just like Obama ‘proved’ he’s ready to lead – by pointing to polls and what people think. In other words, they don’t answer the question.

To certain insincere types — namely, liberals — a poll is reality.

It’s a symptom of the true nature of the disease. These are people for whom appearance is reality, whose notion of virtue is to be declared by the world to be virtuous, regardless of actual performance or inner character. They have no notion of genuine virtue, the response of the inner man that demands truth, courage, and compassion on the inside, regardless of how it appears to the world. They don’t even know that kind of virtue exists, because their entire lives have been spent making their outside appearance conform to some image they read about in a novel that they imagine constitutes virtue.

Exit question: How did he do it?

A gaffe only hurts if the press decides to headline it. Without press repetition, the only people who know about a man’s stupid words are his political opponents. With it, the general public, who only pay attention to sound bites and headlines, pick up a new bit of “conventional wisdom,” and the gaffe becomes the definition of the man.

With Palin, and with Dan Quayle and Newt Gingrich before her, we learned that one does not even have to make serious errors to get labeled “stupid” by the public. With Biden, as with Al Gore and Adlai Stevenson before him, we learn that one does not have to be bright to get labeled “bright” by the public. All it takes is favorable press coverage.

A vote for Obama/Biden is a vote for Chance, the Gardener.

The adaptability Palin has shown is one of the most powerful indications of her capability, but its also too subtle for most people to perceive very quickly.

Watch her in the future if McCain doesn’t pull a miracle comeback. Whether or not she runs and/or wins in 2012, she will be a force to be reckoned with in whatever she decides to do.

Oddly enough, when he speaks about someone elses gaffe, he states it correctly, and then does something worse.

It’s been getting worse lately, and I think one of the hair plugs is in too deep…
