Video: Palin hammers Obama on coal

A bullet pass aimed at the end zone in Pennsylvania and Ohio as the final few seconds tick away. Maverick threw his own long ball earlier today in Scranton:
“My friends, you know what Senator Obama said about a year ago, he said he had not been a, quote, coal booster,” he said, as the crowd booed. “My friends, I’ve been a coal booster and it’s going to create jobs, and we’re going to export coal to other countries and we are going to create hundreds of thousands of jobs. That’s going to help restore the economy of the great state of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”
Exit question via the ‘Cuda: Why is the audio tape just now surfacing? Three cheers for the crack McCain oppo research team.

Just saw your last post. I agree that no civilized person, Catholic or otherwise, should countenance abortion or infanticide as anything less than the murder of a child. I am simply stating that there are people, including Christians of various stripes, who are deceived about this.
And believe me, I share your frustration and anger about it.

AGAIN, BHO slams the citizens of Pennsylvania, and all of America, during a trip to SF.
No coal plants, no nuclear plants, no new oil refineries, no natural gas plants, no liquid gas facilities and, no new offshore oil wells within 50 miles of the coast. We’ll have to put solar panels and wind turbines on every building PLUS put hydro-electric dams on the Mississippi River just to run the coffee maker.
Yep, BHO will change America and THE WORLD…

And more faux Utopian.
Medschoolsockpuppet needs to focus his fortune cookie philosophizing a tad.
Just because Bush cannot defend or even coherently explain a necessary fight does not make it any less necessary.
(But I don’t get paid enough to do GWB’s heavy lifting for him on Iraq, or anything else he has bungled by being fatally inarticulate.)
The transparent hypocrisy of the leftoid arguments about warfare (it is always conveniently “right and just” when their side does it, and “malicious and evil and morally wrong” when their political opposition might benefit from it) are worn as thin as a hooker’s last pair of panties.
Iran needs to be intimidated into relinquishing its mad push toward nukes, since the regime is unstable, psychologically and theologically.
Obama is a weak sister, and they salivate at the possibility of toying with his naivete until their nuclear goals are rendered a fait accompli.
McCain, such scum understand, will not be a juvenile pushover like the “righteous wind” from Chicago.
profitsbeard on November 2, 2008 at 9:48 PM
I repeat the question, MSC: do you believe that Obama is lying in stating that he will absolutely prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons? (It is obvious that you believe McCain and Palin are honestly stating their intentions).

I want you all to really really really think about what Obama said here. and what this would mean for all of us.
People, people, people you are missing the forest for the trees.
Obama did not say he wanted to just bankrupt the coal industry. He said every carbon producing quote”I was the first to call for a 100 percent auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter”
that means coal fired electric plants, natural gas fired ones, that means cars, buses, trucks, train, airplanes, every industry in the nation, chemical plants, farmers, cross ocean shippers, computer makers, schools, resutrants,
HE WANTS TO CHARGE FOR EVERY UNIT OF CARBON EVERY UNIT>
Last I checked we produce carbon by breathing will we be taxed to breath?

Just got back from Sunday night Mass, and the priest dedicated his homily to abortion. On the Feast of All Souls, he reminded us of the 40 million plus souls that have been lost to abortion. He said that no issue has the magnitude of this one, and that we must think hard about the the Declaration of Independence. And while issues about the economy, healthcare, environment, etc are very important, if this nation cannot protect the unborn, and provide them with their inalienable rights, all other issues are meaningless.
He never explicitly endorse–but he didn’t need to. It was a good homily by an old-school parish priest. It was a proud Catholic moment.

Obama is saying he is prepared to bankrupt the entire country unless we change our habits. He will use massive force to get us to change our havbits. He will use the power of the state in fines, and force to get us to change our habits.
this is called tyranny:
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security

This quote from Obama is beyond frightening. this is a type of quote that hitler, Chevez or Stalin would make. this quote says he will decieve, that he will “talk” about “clean coal” but not mean it. That he will ram down a massive tax on every inch of our lives and he will never let up until we capitulate to his views and change OUR WAY OF LIFE. He would rather see our nation bankrupt than to have abunant and cheap energy. Do you not see this.
This quote is beyond the pale. there are so many layers to this quote that I myself am truely frightened by the man exposed by his own words.

joepub on November 2, 2008 at 10:09 PM
I picked up on that as well, I was surprised that no one else seemed to notice that line.
Not only does he admit that he wants to make coal fired plants impossible to build, he will tax the production of electricity to the point that you will not want to use it anymore.
He has broadcast to virtually anyone that will listen his intentions to control your life, take your money, and kill as many babies as possible.

Second point, on target………… David Axelrod’s modus operandi…….. infiltrate an “enemy’s” blog……. throw out a bomb to take people off message, and try to hijack the thread, keep them off topic, and try to get them to fight among themselves………
The fact that they are still trying speaks volumes to how they are feeling………… skidish, very skidish.

UNBELIEVABLE THIS IDIOT GETS AWAY WITH THIS LIBERAL CRAP!!!
Here’s some more super intelligent logic that our local ron

Obama on the surge(that has brought us victory in Iraq)
Then the success of the surge could not be ignored by Obama
and his cheering section the main stream media.
So what does Mr. super intelligent,Mr. supreme judgment say
about his decision making regarding the most important issue
he has had to deal with since being in politics?
So our little ron paul supporter is more scared of Palin in
dealing with foreign policy than this idiot, great thinking

Here’s where I have to disagree.
While surely there are some people that do not actually know who they favor, but will also take the time to answer a poll about their opinions…logic tells us that those people are in the minority.
There is not a reason on earth not to tell a pollster that you are voting for Obama. It’s the hip, progressive, politically correct thing to say.
On the other hand, telling a stranger that you intend to vote for the mean old white war monger, well that has a few negative connotations.
If you haven’t been sold on Obama by now you won’t be persuaded. You will either skip the long lines or vote for McCain.
I still believe that McCain will shock the conventional thinkers, the chattering class and the thought police.

His energy plan calls for the entire nation to use 15% less electricity in 5 years. He says we can get there by conservation but this quote shows us how he plans to enforce that conservation.
I’m surprised no one read his energy plan on his website. When i read it a couple of months ago I was scared as hell. i tried to bring it up a couple of times around here but no one thought it could possibly be that bad.
He also wants to put the entire electric grid under federal control. He wants to monitor that grid, and control the useage of that electricity. He wants to fine electric companies that do not reduce the amount of eletricty they use from year to year. he is a big fan of automated thermostats in your home so that the gov can set your temp. He wants to change how electricty companies make money. Instead of making more by producing more. He wants them to make more by increasing uptime.
It is truely a halloween read and would change fundementally everything about this country’s energy useage. energy will become a rare source and will be rationed.

I’m stealing this from Ace’s site so click on over there for the comments but food for thought:
The final round of Mason-Dixon polls has Obama enjoying small leads in the red states that would deliver him the presidency, but he’s below 50 percent in each and there are enough white undecided voters to leave some too close to call.
Colorado: Obama 49, McCain 44, Undecided 4
Florida: Obama 47, McCain 45, Undecided 7
Nevada: Obama 47, McCain 43, Undecided 8
Pennsylvania: 47, McCain 43, Undecided 9
Virginia: Obama 47, McCain 44, Undecided 9
Ohio: McCain 47, Obama 45, Undecided 6
Missouri: McCain 47, Obama 46, Undecided 5
North Carolina: McCain 49, Obama 46, Undecided 5
As Brad Coker, who runs the Mason-Dixon poll, notes, the vast majority of the undecided voters in these states are whites.
Addtionally over the last week undeciders have broken for McCain 4:1 so figure it out from there. I wonder want the polls ar ein the blue states? CA, maine, NH, NJ are strong possiblities of surprises. maine’s entire economy is based pretty much on family owned fishing business. The entire industry will be crippled by Obama’s tax cut’s and carbon tax. boats use fuel. Palin and todd have recieved warm welcomes in the state and Maine has a history of voting for liberal repbus like McCain for the senate. The jump from Sen snow to McCain is not that far. The threat of massive tax increases on their family income could be enough to make them switch. McCain has a really good shot of at least 1 electroal vote from MAin and maybe all 3

The tragic thing about the Paulbot (Paultard?) troofers is that they never seem to remember that Obama was the one calling to send troops into Darfur. As a military wife, I am absolutely convinced that Obama will send our people to die in various charnel houses on the dark continent. He doesn’t give a damn about the military, or about military members.
He will put our troops under the command of the UN at first opportunity.
He will get our people killed.
And he will have to have a draft because many, many military members will not re-up if Obama wins. You cannot trust a leftist with the military.

The case for Ca breaking for McCain is three fold.
One prop 8 will bring out the conservative base which is basically the entire state minus San fran and LA.
The gov of Ca is campaiging for McCain in OH. Those that know himknows he has not been a fan of Bush. his campaigning for McCain shows CA residents that at least Arnold does not think McCain is Bsuh.
Lations are generally favorable to McCain. they are socially conservative and the catholic church has been speaking up against abortion in this race and the party of death may lose some votes due to this
Finally if the media does what the media does and calls he election early for Obama his supporter swill not have any reason to flood the polls in CA while the foes of gay marriage will still have reason too and will most likely check off the mCain box while there.
Ca has one of the lowest percentage of voters vote. Because of its dem stronghold, its postion as the last state to vote etc. a strong showing from conservatives may catch the libs by surprise.
This is the least likely but it is McCain
’s hail mary pass.

Their quest is the second Caliphate, when they say they want us off their land,it also includes Spain and France as well as many other nations that radical muslims refer to as their
land.Indonesia,Philippines are just a few that have suffered
major jihadist attacks, they occupy no muslim land.Pakistan has lost thousands to jihadist terrorism and they are a muslim nation.
The War on Terror has reduced terrorist attacks across the world and recruitment has diminished dramatically.
Cheer up. We’re winning this War on Terror
Al-Qaeda and the Taleban are in retreat, the surge has worked in Iraq and Islamism is discredited. Not a bad haul

There are many, many, many examples of the success that the War on Terror is having but like Bush and our military have said the whole time since we started on the offensive,is that this is going to be a long battle fought on many fronts.

the case for NH is the most like;ly to occur. NH residents know McCain, He might have shaked everyone of their hands. NH likes to buck the trend. In 200 they went for bush. In 2004 they went for Kerry. They like to not be taken for granted. They spanked Obama in the primary gave new life to McCain and shook up the race. They are small gov type of people. they look at their neighbor MA has a unknown country. They see alot of what OBAMA is peddeling in MA and sees it drive MA residents to NH to avoid the high taxes and regulation. NH could go for McCain

…will not stand up to the rage of Michele saying something stupid like, “let them burn straw”.
The CDF may be the first to break.

I think this quote from Obama may put NJ in play somewhat. Nj is a very industrialized state and produces a lot of chemicals, gasoline etc. Has a strong vacation spoty on their beaches and is more concerned about national security than most blue states. Liberman’s endorsement means a lot to NJ and Conn. NJ may decide not to repeat 9/11 and vote for McCain.

Don’t we already have that in the militias that are notifying border patrol agents

funny you should use a three letter name for the civil defense force. they will be populated with hardcore Obama fanatics. Think KGB, or SS.
The dems also want to cut our regualr army by 25% during two wars. Why would they cut spending during a time we are at war if not to weaken us both internationally and domesticlly.
I know sounds nuts but there are a lot of pieces here and the pieces are just falling into place. They may not be connected but they seem at least to me to be too much of a coincidence. Add in the new and improved pravada and you got….

The trick to winning this thing has always been to coordinate attacks on Obama with an assault on the media, and she has been brilliant, undaunted, and…beautiful.
I know Maggie is smiling.

yes.
this keeps coming to my mind:
In the first chapter, opening paragraph of the book Alinsky writes, “What follows is for those who want to change the world from what it is to what they believe it should be. The Prince was written by Machiavelli for the Haves on how to hold power. Rules for Radicals is written for the Have-Nots on how to take it away
and this:
There’s another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevski said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution. To bring on this reformation requires that the organizer work inside the system, among not only the middle class but the 40 per cent of American families – more than seventy million people – whose income range from $5,000 to $10,000 a year [in 1971]. They cannot be dismissed by labeling them blue collar or hard hat. They will not continue to be relatively passive and slightly challenging. If we fail to communicate with them, if we don’t encourage them to form alliances with us, they will move to the right. Maybe they will anyway, but let’s not let it happen by default

I never read or heard this exact quote before but I have heard the term fairy farts somewhere so can’t take 100% credit for it.

The “anti-war” ignoramuses only bring MORE war. Some of you simply don’t understand the evil nature of the world.

Agreed, she’s got a lot of traction pointing out how the MSM is trying to frame the flow of information, and people are noticing. American’s generally don’t like being jerked around, and for most American’s I know, hiding the truth is the same as lying. American’s in general don’t care too much about being lied to either.
Stay on them Governor, pedal to the metal.
