Hot Air TV: Vote twice!

posted at 12:42 pm on November 2, 2008 by Michelle

Intrepid Hot Air special correspondent Jason Mattera is back. Representing ACORN’s sister organization WALNUT, Jason hit the streets to petition for the right of the oppressed to vote twice. The GAP company would approve. So did several of America’s finest citizens.

The new disenfranchisement threshhold: $75,000/year.

Thanks to camerawoman Alyssa Cordova. Here’s Part I:

He should be wearing a hockey goalie mask, though.

Redhead Infidel on November 2, 2008 at 12:52 PM

Kinda scary though isn’t it? Just like Hannity’s “Man on the Street” segments.

I can remember being a teenager and my little grandma telling me that the government wants people to be uneducated and uninformed. She told me to always be aware of that and to never fall victim to it.

Maybe my Grandma should have spoke to the masses.

After watching this I am pissed, all the money I have paid in taxes over the years, and the government gets their money from printing it. Where have my taxes gone?

Considering stories like this might not be so untrue

Ohio Students Work Around Voter-ID Law

Students often have trouble registering to vote — or voting — where they are enrolled in college. For yesterday’s presidential primary in Ohio, many students devised creative ways to cast their ballots while still complying with the state’s voter-ID law.

“We were really pushing to get people to do absentee voting,” said Namrata Kolachalam, a senior at Oberlin College. Ohio law requires voters to bring government-issued identification or a utility bill to the polls, but such proof of residence is not required to vote absentee.

In 2006, because of the voter-ID law, many students in Ohio had to vote provisionally, Ms. Kolachalam said. This year groups at Oberlin and Kenyon College decided absentee ballots were a better option.

“It’s the easiest way to avoid the ridiculously backwards law,” said Matthew Segal, a senior at Kenyon and executive director of the national Student Association for Voter Empowerment. Mr. Segal is lobbying state officials for a more inclusive law — allowing, for example, private-college IDs — in time for the general election.

Meanwhile, Oberlin had another solution. The college issued students what Ms. Kolachalam called a “fake utility bill” — a statement of telephone and Internet services marked with their dormitory addresses — for them to present at the polls. The local board of elections had said it would accept the document.

I’m torn between:

1. Who’s Barney Frank

2. Have you ever been with a woman? How much did you pay!

WOW!! I am amazed. How many illegal votes will be for the Chosen One? Don’t matter. McCain never stooped that low. That guy was great! They need to air this on Fox News. Wake people up.

Yeah, people that don’t pay taxes should vote more than once…………. isn’t that already in the ACORN charter?

“Have you ever been with a woman?……….. How much did you pay?”

IrishGirl17 on November 2, 2008 at 12:43 PM

Again not as crazy as it might sound

Wednesday: The Other Place is a day shelter serving about 200 homeless people, most of them black. They hang out, stay warm, and receive services such as job training. There’s also a free health clinic. The center’s director quiets the crowd in the day room and I make our vote-today pitch. There are lots of questions and doubts.

“I don’t have a photo ID.” If you vote early, all you need is the last four digits of your Social Security number.

“I’m a convicted felon.” As long as you’re not currently in state prison, you’re entitled to vote. In fact, the only crime that permanently disenfranchises you is election fraud. (I wonder where Kenneth Blackwell is now?)

“This early voting is a scam. They’ll just throw it away.” This is the most persistent objection, born of generations of being shut out of the electoral process and doubly confirmed by 2004’s campaign to shut out black voters.

But a half-dozen people climb into the Obamobile for the trip downtown. None of them has ever voted before. They range from 51-year-old Wesley to 18-year-old Nicole, who is shivering with the flu but can’t wait to vote.

Things are beginning to move. And a federal appeals court has turned down the Republican challenge to Golden Week.

I’m actually a little surprised about how clearly these uneducated bums understand socialism. They know exactly what Obama stands for, and they know exactly why they’re voting for him. They want him to take money from others and give it to them so they can continue not working. Unlike the “educated” journalists and middle-class white guilt sufferers who intend to vote for Obama and have no real idea why except that he’s “intellectual” or something.

So you are feeling confident for Tuesday?

mycowardice on November 2, 2008 at 1:40 PM

What does that have to do with you being obsessed with Jason Mattera.

Why do you come here and only ask but never answer any questions?

Why didn’t you answer if the real tax level was 250K (that he says most of the time), 200K (that he said at the last debate), 150K (that Joe Biden said on the trail) or the 70K that he actually voted for in the last session?

And I’ll do you the courtesy os answering one of your questions even through they’re normally categorically sophomoric.

I am confident we can win if the fraud by ACORN isn’t too substantial. I am confident if we lose, there are enough of us who are brave enough to fight against the terrible direction this monster wants to take us. I will fight the direction people like you want to take this country till the day I stop processing O2.

hawkdriver on November 2, 2008 at 2:07 PM

I don’t think the lady in pink walking by at the very beginning thought the election was stolen.

multiuseless on November 2, 2008 at 2:23 PM

It’s 250k….

Middle class families will see their taxes cut – and no family making less than $250,000 will see their taxes increase. The typical middle class family will receive well over $1,000 in tax relief under the Obama plan, and will pay tax rates that are 20% lower than they faced under President Reagan. According to the Tax Policy Center, the Obama plan provides three times as much tax relief for middle class families as the McCain plan.

Can it be any clearer? Maybe I can find the french, spanish or arabic translation if you think it might help.

I am confident we can win if the fraud by ACORN isn’t too substantial. I am confident if we lose, there are enough of us who are brave enough to fight against the terrible direction this monster wants to take us. I will fight the direction people like you want to take this country till the day I stop processing O2.

Biden said 150K

Video of…

Don’t freaking come here talking to us as if we’re your stupid liberal lemmings! I can’t make it any clearer myself. He is all over the place on his tax numbers and we deserve to know. He has voted to raise taxes on 70K families already and won’t extend the Bush tax cuts. That’s a tax increase in itself. So screw you you arrogant ass.

And the voter fraud…

You’re going to dismiss the whole ACORN fraud story becasue they listed Mickey Mouse? It is estimated a forth of their registration could be fake. You’re going to tell me if Republicans had a similiar campaign signing up ficticious people on fraudulent registations you wouldn’t be afraid that it would translate to fraudulent votes. I’d call you a liar.

Obama is unelectable on facts and issues. Only Stalin like tactics and a “silent majority press” can give him the win.

We hear even today of reports in AZ, NM and of course we had Ohio and so many more where university students are coming across state lines to register and vote illegally. They apparently have no compunction regarding the morality of their actions. Where do they get that? Home, college professors, schools ruled no God zones. Sincere there are no absolutes they feel free to do this to gain power. Where will their no absolutes end? Obama has already shown us by his friends where they are going. This can only lead to a bloody revolution and these people who do what they are doing couldn’t care a whit if they take you out so long as they have power. Gird up people, the revolution is at hand.

The GAP campaign is an ad campaign… along the lines of ‘double bag’ it for condom use. The campaign isn’t going to lead to voter fraud so leave GAP alone and concentrate on the real thing. If you think election fraud is solely the preserve of Democrats then have a look at Allen Raymond’s book. He worked for Mr Forbes and the Republicans. I think the only way we are going to reform any of this is to have a computer randomly redraw electoral maps but that isn’t going to happen so it is every citizens job to observe, investigate, and highlight criminal activity. Real criminal activity which goes on behind both parties.

This morning, the mainstream media and its paid commercial pollsters hasve begun a barrage of McCain negativism and dooms day predictions essentially anointing Obama a day before the election. There are two enemies of this country, the media and the Democrats. Compared to this duo, terrorists are pushovers. This country is irreparably and irreconcilable divided. The best alternative is a separation of the land mass and its resources to allow like minded people to live and work as they please without a diametrically opposed philosophy constantly being imposed upon them. The part I live in will continue to be called the “United States of America” and the other part will undoubtedly have some socialist or communist identifier. Hang it up people, the old Republic is dead.
