Zogby: McCain up 1

Right now, it’s only on Drudge, and … well, it’s Zogby. Still, it’s going in the direction we all believed the race was heading:
ZOGBY SATURDAY: Republican John McCain has pulled back within the margin of error… McCain outpolled Obama 48% to 47% in Friday, one day, polling. He is beginning to cut into Obama’s lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all…
This may get pretty interesting. We’ll watch the other tracking polls, which have bounced all over the place the last few days. By Monday, we’ll get a better sense … or we’ll all be drinking heavily.

All I can say is, you gotta be pretty darn close to even to hiccup your way over the line.

This can be done. Let’s all get out there and do whatever we can to drag McCain across the finish line. I’m donating 12 hours a day to the campaign for each of these final days. Let’s make this happen!

If you were undecided which way would you fall this late into the game?
Maybe this is Obama having same issues as he did against Hillary during last months of primary?
I sure as hell HOPE so.

Zogby is an Anti-American/Pro-Jihadi Leftist Delusional Democrat Traitor; he and his brother, as Arab Christians, are not only Democrats, but also Anti-Semitic and Pro-Jihadi; those are demostrable facts.
Zogby is also the complete and utter ass-clown who completely proved during the 2004 Election cycle, that his “Polls” are as useful as used Toilet paper!
I PRAY McCain wins!
I wouldn’t believe a Zogby “poll”, if my life depended upon it!

If what you say is true, then Zogby should be in the tank for Obama, no? If he is coming out with this poll now, then it means McCain is even farther ahead than anyone imagined.
ManlyRash on November 1, 2008 at 12:27 AM
I can’t believe McCain might actually pull this off….but boy, if he does, I’ll be sitting in my basement crawlspace sipping the Crown Royal Special Reserve while the riots rage outside…

rsdm9154 on November 1, 2008 at 12:29 AM
Anecdotal but the real deal:
I am an RN, work in the hospital. I spent today caring for really sweet guy, big ‘ol teddy bear, mid 50’s. This evening, I asked him point blank who he was voting for. That’s not my usual style but these are extraordinary times.
He had no idea what my politics were.
He said, “Well, I haven’t made up my mind yet.”
I said “You don’t know, how can you not know yet?”
He said, “Well…you know we don’t have a great choice between the two.”
Then, quietly-not making eye contact, “I just don’t think Obama has enough experience.”
That was it. I had spent the whole day with this man. I had an idea of his character. I saw how he did not want to cause a stir. Just a sweet guy who WILL NOT vote for Obama, No vehemence. Just your everyday JOE who won’t do it, no way, no how.
HE is one of these late undecided’s.
keebs on November 1, 2008 at 12:29 AM
It’s over.
McCain won.
Haha, sike.
iamse7en on November 1, 2008 at 12:31 AM
It’s been said, but I’ll say it again. Zogby’s firm’s final poll had Bush in the lead. Zogby himself, outside of his firm’s polling, predicted Kerry was going to win because he thought the undecideds were breaking for Kerry–tthey didn’t, they broke for Bush.
So, Zogby himself has said that Obama is going to win. This poll is from Zogby’s firm, which was accurate in 2004.
That said. Don’t rely on polls other than for motiviation. Get out to vote. Go door to door. Phone Bank. Take 10 friends to the booth with you. It’s not over until the precints close on November 4th.
Enoxo on November 1, 2008 at 12:31 AM
Remember what Rush said, Dale: in the closing days of the election the pollsters will be more concerned with their reputations than with their political biases. Money is money and these guys live and die by the accuracy of their results. It appears that in this game of chicken, Zogby flinched first.

I hearing anecdotal evidence up there, that shows a level of contempt for Obama that is unprecedented; be interesting to see if translates into votes for McCain-Palin..
Dale in Atlanta on November 1, 2008 at 12:36 AM
Well, the fact that Obama called Americans selfish, kicked reporters off of his plane, one of his surrogates lowers the rich bar to $120,000, and more comes out about the Joe “probe” and all of them got some major exposure, so why wouldn’t the polls move towards McCain?
MobileVideoEngineer on November 1, 2008 at 12:36 AM
If this happens, and McCain’s elected, I will search high and low for Arianna Huffington’s reaction…I want to see that fey leftist wail and weep.
Richard Romano on November 1, 2008 at 12:37 AM
Neither. McCain in reality has been ahead by 2-3 pts, but up until now the effort to discourage republican voters had determined how the results should fall.
Some survey by foxnews came out today that O’Reilly referred to indicated young voters might not come out as predicted, so my guess is that this is INSURANCE. In the tank Zogby wants to scare Obama voters to make sure they vote.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see the full court press to make it look like Obama has already won BACKFIRE by convincing all the Obamabots that they don’t need to wait in no stinking 2 hour line to vote, Obama has it IN THE BAG.
EVERY conservative in my classes at school (all 5 of us!) have been telling all our liberal classmates how sad we are that it’s going to be a landslide, that we’re not even going to vote, that all of our friends and family as well have decided not to vote. (I’m in MO where is is CLOSE) And you should see how happy they look…our hope is they will sit their lazy butts at home rather than wait in line on Tuesday. Worth a shot…there’s no talking to an Obamabot, trust me, I have tried.

I don’t remember Zobgy in 2900, but in 2000 he was the ONLY polling outfit who accurately said that the race was even going into the last weekend before Election Day while everyone else was saying that Bush had a five-point lead–which according to The Others, Bush lost that weekend in some strange sudden collapse.
it seemed like the Usual Suspects wanted to create a momentum for Gore on the day before the election by claiming Gore had jumped five points in two days ( after no changes for two weeks or so ). Zogby was the only one who managed to get and publish an accurate poll in those last days
If he’s right again, that means America dodged the Mother of All Bullets

This poll news is going to kill the lefties. Remember how they were after he fell on his face with his German victory speech? That’s what’s coming from them.
America is still a brave and courageous country that loves competition. This election is either a declaration of that spirit, or a whimpering cry of defeat and a desire to return to the fetal position with Senator Government. Americans are beginning to really feel this, all kick-started by Joe The Plumber. I expect to see effects all through Congress, too.

Obama has this supposed deep desire to help others by spreading the wealth around yet his own brother and his aunt live in squalor. Apparently Obama thinks you should pay his illegal aunt’s living expenses while he, a millionaire, gives nothing to his own family.
He’s a millionaire socialist who wants people like Joe the plumber to pay his illegal family’s benefits.
This is all about reparations and nothing to do with fairness.

I have plenty of friends who have sponsored their relatives coming from other countries. All you have to pay a bond and promise the govt that you will certify that your relative will receive no public assistance for 5 years, and you can pretty much bring over anyone you want as long as they can support themselves, or you can support them.
Come on, Senator Obama, surely you can put up the dough to sponsor your Aunt and Uncle. Use some of the money you don’t donate to charity..spread some of your own wealth around.
Wasn’t it Obama that said “I am my brother’s keeper, I am my sister’s keeper” at the DNC 2004 convention, and that is supposed to be the rallying cry of his new America? Shouldn’t he practice what he preaches, or is that just for working class folks like me?
JustTruth101 on November 1, 2008 at 1:07 AM
the big point is not the accuracy of this one poll. the big deal is how people will perceive this. this one poll changes the momentum to the 86% of americans who don’t know the difference b/w zogby and rasmussen.

The “sudden collapse” of Bush’s 5 point lead in 2000 was the hit piece on the Thursday before the election of his 15 year prior DUI conviction. That was the October surprise of that election.
karenhasfreedom on November 1, 2008 at 1:12 AM
I’m in a similar situation, in school full of devoted followers, but I live in California. Pretty much I just reassure them that our votes don’t matter, cuz Obama is ahead by like 25 points in the state.

There was no ’sudden collapse’: no studies show that over a million voters changed their voting decision on the basis on this story–which was from 1973, not “15 year prior”
Janos Hunyadi on November 1, 2008 at 1:17 AM
Take a breath. It’s Zogby.
We’ve all been saying for weeks that the polls are all wrong.
We can’t suddenly change our minds on that because one poll is telling us something we’d like to hear (and believe is true).

It’s incredible how many ‘mccain’ or ’sarah!’ signs there are.
It’s also incredible how quickly western pa (pittsburgh area) has gone from ‘D’ in 2004 to ’split’ in 2008 (THANX MURTHA!)
I thought bush would lose PA both times, and i was right. But i really really think McCain wins on Tuesday. Oh, and Pennsylvania LOVES Palin… it’s almost scary.

It won’t take a very big chink in the Barry’s armor to reveal that there’s nothing inside.

battleoflepanto1571 on November 1, 2008 at 1:20 AM
Your collection of anecdotal evidence is probaby as accurate–or more accurate–than all these ‘weighted’ ’scientific’ polls which have up to a 20-point Democratic differential ( and an agenda )
Janos Hunyadi on November 1, 2008 at 1:23 AM
My “sudden collapse” phrase was quoting a poster from above, who had said it was mysterious. And 1973, ok, it was 27 years earlier, but all I remember thinking at the time was how unfair it was to have that come out so close to the election with no time for Bush to get his story out on how he had stayed sober for years and years since then. That hit piece was devastating to his election back then. We could have avoided that whole Florida mess without that intentional hit to manipulate the election process.

Mark1971 on November 1, 2008 at 1:23 AM
I don’t think this poll is correct, but it is evidence that the pollsters (even with their built-in biases and the plethora of fake dem voter regs and silly calculations for who will actually vote) are cracking. To put McCain ahead in a poll is a phase change.
progressoverpeace on November 1, 2008 at 1:23 AM
Yep…all those bible-thumping gun-toting bigots that Obama denigrates as he sips wine in San Fran are in reality God-loving, 2nd amendment believers who are in fact compassionate and sacrificially charitable hard working human beings. Folks like us are sick and tired of being called racists when it couldn’t be further from the truth.
