At 49 gaining on 50 my life is on the downhill slide so I won’t have to leave as long with the policies “the One” is going to put into place.

With an average income of around $70,000 its going to be a while before “the One” considers me too rich for my own good.

I guess the bottom line is use your vote as it was intended otherwise later you’ll have no reason to bitch.

Sorry that the next generation doesn't mean squat to you. You have the choice to be selfish or not. You chose poorly.
Also, what makes you think Obama won't increase your taxes? Of course, he will. The very elimination of the Bush tax cuts will do so right off the bat. And if you think that's the extent of it, please reconsider.

<a href="http://digg.com/business_finance/OBAMA_TELLS_S_F_HE_IS_WILLING_TO_BANKRUPT_COAL_INDUSTRY" rel="nofollow">Economic bankruptcy.</a> Forget about "clean coal" because there's no such thing according to an Obama presidency. Cap and tax mining industries into literal bankruptcy. For every business bankrupted by socialism are multiple unemployed American citizens. The only new jobs that Obama proposes will be his Socialist Services: his own ideological goon squad that will match or bust our military in budget before training, and illiterate/uneducated government employee positions dedicated to augmenting the perpetual welfare state.

There is no scientific basis for the Socialist diversionary propaganda converting public opinion to believe in global warming (it's cooling!) or man-induced global climate change that in turn becomes a tool in the radical authoritarian hands of Obama & cult to legislate, rule and enforce economic Stalinism in America. <a href="http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/10/an_open_letter_from_the_viscou_1.html" rel="nofollow">Open letter from The Viscount Monckton of Brenchley to Senator John McCain about Climate Science and Policy.
</a>

People who swallow public popular opinion in order to be part of the "in" crowd never amounted to anything more than opportunistic abusers, particularly when they refuse to read original source documentation to credit legitimacy vs. hype.

Jesus had his own explanations of this. People are willing to swallow a camel but choke on a gnat. They are also too willing to mutilate others with social programs, while protruding beams are stuck in their own eyes they stick dirty fingers into others' eyes to dig out a mote. Jesus had nothing compassionate to relate towards abusive users who leave stumbling blocks to deny the innocent of salvation; execution: drown, hung by millstone and cast into the deep. Those who swore their "good intentions" were cast into outer darkness and deprived relief because they abused the suffering (Lazarus) to remain within the needy state, failing a charitable process to enable an individual to adapt with personal responsibility into productive success. Furthermore, those who enforce others to pay higher taxation in order to provide what personal charity would accomplish, that very charity which enforcers themselves lack, can not claim to have done "good" even as they abuse Jesus, feigning the good shepherd's works as their own, calling him a Socialist in order to simultaneously excuse and edify themselves. "But we did great works in your name!" cried Billy Goat Gruff to the Lamb of God.

<em><strong>Socialist</strong></em>

As Hillary Clinton put it, <em><strong>that</strong> requires a willing suspension of disbelief</em>. That implies Jesus reincarnated as Marx, whether figurative or literal, definitely spiritually, doctrinally and now usefully. Whether or not "Christianists" filled with antipathy refuse to accept Black Supremacy Liberation Theology, now Jesus=Socialist. Submit to your radical authoritarian lord and master. Just try to stop the demise of your traditional Constitutional government. <strong>Spiritual bankruptcy.</strong>

Exactly. If you can't bring yourself to vote for McCain, you should stay home, not vote for Obama.

<blockquote>Many of us are voting for Obama to teach the GOP a lesson [snip].

MedSchoolCatholic on November 1, 2008 at 10:22 PM</blockquote>
I just saw this(I know I'm a bit late) and I had to reply, in case there are any other people who are immature enough to think this is a good reason to vote for someone.

How dare you risk the future of our country just to be spiteful! How dare you risk the future of my children and grandchildren to stroke your own ego! Do you honestly believe that a president, with the support of congress, can't seriously damage this country in 4 or 8 years?

I never thought I'd say this...If you are really that self-centered, do those of us who take voting seriously, and not just as a personal revenge tool, a favor and don't vote at all.

The media has succeeded in shielding Barack Obama from journalistic scrutiny. It thereby irrevocably destroyed its own reputation and forfeited the trust that generations of others had so carefully acquired. And it will never again be trusted to offer candid and nonpartisan coverage of presidential candidates.

Worse still, the suicide of both print and electronic journalism has ensured that, should Barack Obama be elected president, the public will only then learn what they should have known far earlier about their commander-in-chief — but in circumstances and from sources they may well regret.

to save America to hell with the rest of them.

My thoughts exactly. I have never been so adamant before. I even gave up on a lost cause with the obamobots. Never before have I just told a friend that they were now a enemy. Is shocking that one my age can be a traitor. Is like knocking a cement block and bruising your hand. Is war to keep Our Country from falling to Evil.

Syd was way way way over-rated. became famous for being wierd and experimental.

He gave us Piper at Gates of Dawn

Roger Waters on the other hand, was a genius. He gave us:

Dark Side of Moon
Wish You Were Here
Animals
The Wall
Final Cut
Amused to Death.

Any questions? They dont really compare, now do they?

Roger Waters on November 2, 2008 at 12:54 AM

I do know Mr. Waters, don't think he would appreciate you using his name on a political site. I am sure he would think it was not cool. But, you are ignorant so I am just going to ignore this. His attitude sucks any ways, just like yours do.

Wow I must have missed something in Civics class back in the 70s. I thought the purpose of voting was to pick the person you thought best to lead that particular office. I didn't realize it was to "punish". Of the two choices on the ballot I chose the one I felt best to lead this nation for the next 4 years, how stupid of me.

If Obama wins I take solace in the following -

At 49 gaining on 50 my life is on the downhill slide so I won't have to leave as long with the policies "the One" is going to put into place.

With an average income of around $70,000 its going to be a while before "the One" considers me too rich for my own good.

I guess the bottom line is use your vote as it was intended otherwise later you'll have no reason to bitch.

Wow I must have missed something in Civics class back in the 70s. I thought the purpose of voting was to pick the person you thought best to lead that particular office. I didn’t realize it was to “punish”. Of the two choices on the ballot I chose the one I felt best to lead this nation for the next 4 years, how stupid of me.

If Obama wins I take solace in the following -

At 49 gaining on 50 my life is on the downhill slide so I won’t have to leave as long with the policies “the One” is going to put into place.

Another morning and all we have to show for it is a slap in the face from John Conyers for "outing" Obama's illegal aunt. Does McCain have NOTHING to end this on?!

Hawaii approaches Nov. 4 with great anticipation. After all, the Honolulu-born Barack Obama may just become the next President of the United States. But there is something else on the ballot that makes a lot of locals uneasy: the chance to rewrite the state's charter by starting up a constitutional convention. Hawaii is one of three states (the others being Illinois and Connecticut) with the issue of rewriting its constitution on the ballot. And it is also the object lesson for all who'd like to do so. Hawaii has convened what locals call "ConCons" twice since 1968, both with far reaching consequences. Now several influential groups are calling for a third. "You have no idea what can happen," says veteran Honolulu journalist Jerry Burris, who covered the hot and humid ConCon in the summer of 1978 that convened in downtown Honolulu's old federal building, directly across from Iolani Palace, the seat of the former Kingdom of Hawaii.

Hawaii's first Constitutional Convention was organized in 1968 to correct problems with state legislative voting districts - and ended up giving public workers the right to strike. Ten years later, the islands' second ConCon began with no particular agenda, just a feeling in the post-Watergate era that Hawaii's government needed to be more accountable to its people. Nevertheless, it resulted in 34 separate amendments - more than 1,000 individual changes to Hawaii's state constitution - that included the addition of the untranslated phrase, "Ua mau ke ea o ka 'aina i ka pono" in the constitution's preamble - "The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness." It was a sweeping victory for Native Hawaiian rights and culture.

The stratification is such that Hawaii today is a state where not all residents can be called Hawaiian. There is no single ethnic majority in the state and only people who are descended from the original inhabitants of the islands are properly called Hawaiians. Residents of Asian, Caucasian, African or other descent are simply called locals. It is the Hawaiians, who made up 21% of the state's population in 2007 - down from 23% in 2000 - who most vocally oppose a new ConCon, concerned that it would dilute their position in the islands. "People who have achieved about as much as they can achieve don't want to open it up again," Burris says. Their allies are the Democratic Party of Hawaii, major unions and environmental organizations. A ConCon, they say, could erode the rights of Native Hawaiians, which continue to come under attack in the courts

This is what we can expect with Democrats in control, a complete "re-write" of the Constitution. The evidence is in plain view for all to see.

<blockquote>I prefer to support a genuine patriot, who has sacrificed for his nation and has served it faithfully.

But that’s just me, I guess.

I've just returned from a (3) day hunt (deer-elk), where I was allowed to hunt with my buddies on a 4,000 acre private ranch here in western Montana. We had one hell of a good time out in the wilderness, on horseback, doing what Americans have done for centuries now. We sat around the camp fire at night talking about just how long Americans will be allowed to engage in such traditions before Democrats take these treasured moments away from us. Most certainly the 1st and 2nd amendments will be under heavy assault immediately upon a Democrat control of all three branches of government.

As an American, I will recognize Obama as my president if he wins the election on Tuesday. As an American, I will fight every attempt to rewrite our Constitution & Bill of Rights. As an American, it saddens me to see what has happened to our media & entertainment industries. It saddens me to see Americans embrace Socialist thuggery, to be so dumbed-down by our own education system to the point where millions of people are willing to let Government dictate their lives for them.

Individual freedoms; Individual pursuit of human advancement and prosperity; hard work coupled with good work ethic; Individual responsibility for the path chosen...

I will forever hold great disdain for this generation of Democrats who have made it their mission to change America into a country where it's people look towards government for answers rather than looking towards individual freedom. Open and free markets allow for human advancement, while unleashing free thought & exploration of individual ideas and inventions.

Will Americans look back some day and see "chain migration" as the ultimate killer of our Democracy? Once the tipping point has been reached, our free election system works against our own treasured traditions.

As we learn more about Barack Obama's relationship with Rashid Khalidi -- the staunch advocate for the PLO who Obama says helped him with his thinking about the Middle East -- it becomes clear that the Democratic candidate for president has hit a radical trifecta. We now know that Obama has substantial relations with a rabidly anti-American black militant, an unrepetent "New Left" terrorist, and a former spokesperson for an Arab terrorist organization.

If Obama were older, he might have made it a grand slam by "palling around" with William Z. Foster or, more likely, a college professor close to Foster. Come to think of it, Obama's first mentor appears to have been the Communist, Frank Marshall Davis.

The most troubling relationship remains the one with Rev. Wright. For while Ayers seems at least to match Wright in the anti-Americanism department, Wright was Obama's spiritual mentor.

No self-respecting country would elect as president a man who spent 20 years taking spiritual guidance from a pastor who openly hates the country. And no country that loses its self respect can anticipate a bright future. (Powerline)

He just worries me.</a> I've met him three times. He's very nice. Very intelligent. But when you talk to him about economics, he seems very naive. Hopefully, he's just saddled with policies for the election. As president, it's a question of whom he brings around him and will he listen to them."

I wonder what it is that Waters. He is a sore loser because Romney was not picked instead of McCain and so in the midst of a partisan election he chooses to make the same old tired complaints about McCain.

Well Rogers, whatever the rest of us have been smoking, you have been shooting it up if you believe for one minute that Romney could do any better.

This is no time for this.

<strong>"McCain pokes fun at his campaign on SNL"</strong>, says the AP.

Not as bad as <strong>"Palin smiles as SNL mocks her"</strong>, though.

The QVC thing was good, but they missed the obvious joke about <em>why</em> Obama has so much more money.
