“I do not fear Barack Obama. I even rather like him. I certainly feel I have much more in common with him than I do with John McCain. To lead this country, though, I prefer the man who has seen more and suffered more and felt more. For all his faults, it is John McCain who is the more universal man.

“I vote for John McCain.”

“My country has never had to prove anything to me, my friends.”

To communists, torturing is to McCain what tutoring is to Obama…

“My country has never had to prove anything to me, my friends.”

.

That is absolutely right, I will never apologies for being an American ever. I love this country to much.

That picture Fox put up of McCain is terrible. It looks like something MSNBC would do.

BuckNutty on November 1, 2008 at 10:05 PM

This is a great and greatly enduring country. It flourishes because of the genius of its institutions and the decent and moderate instincts of its people. I look to the American future with confidence always -

Never, ever forget this.

Mcguyver on November 1, 2008 at 10:05 PM

It might be too late: this country may have become too much of a Katrina America, a nation too thickly populated by those who want and need and demand and expect

It appears that there are too many of these New Americans, and we are outnumbered.

Frum’s sudden 180 should tell everyone what they need to know…he jumped off the sinking ObamaTitanic.

All good and well. When McCain cruises into the presidential port on November 4, find that little rat named Frum…and toss his sorry ass over the side.

I want to watch him drown…along with Preening Peggy and Catty Kathy.

ManlyRash on November 1, 2008 at 10:10 PM

Frum thinks Joe “FDR went on TV to calm the nation after the 1929 Stock Market Crash” Biden has more gravitas than Sarah Palin?

I’m not supposed to laugh?

At least he isn’t stupid enough to vote for Obama, but Frum’s opinion of Palin is as inadequate as Barry’s entire resume is for the Presidency.

Just shut up and vote for McCain, Mr. F.

Your endorsement sucks.

Well, you should fear a Barack Obama. He will use the economic meltdown as an excuse to grab ever more power.

lodge on November 1, 2008 at 10:16 PM

People never lie to pollsters. People never change their mind. Young voters always take the time to vote. The media never backs one candidate over another and slants their reporting. Puhlease.

Take a breath guys. It ain’t over. Hell, the tremendous majority of the country HASN’T VOTED YET.

Don’t be depressed. Get and stay mad. VOTE and get your friends (those with sense) to vote.

Sugar Land on November 1, 2008 at 10:18 PM

Fox has been utterly hateful lately. Complete pessimism coming from them. Major Garrett positively glows when describing the Obama experience and Carl Cameron acts as though he’s embarrassed by the McCain campaign, Shep is the ultimate Obama ‘ho and about the only one left with a little spunk is Megyn Kelly. V depressing to watch, so I don’t. I turned it on this mornng to see if they had anything on Aunie illegal, but after two hours I gave up and it hasn’t been back on. I might be done with them after Tuesday.

Janos Hunyadi on November 1, 2008 at 10:09 PM

No, this country has too many people who have seen through the faults of the neoconservative agenda of the Bush Administration. Without the libertarians and the paleoconservatives, the GOP is on the road for more losses. Check out The American Conservative to see where we’re coming from. Many of us are voting for Obama to teach the GOP a lesson and because some of us actually think that Obama may actually be more conservative in certain respects, like on foreign policy.

A party that welcomes Joe Lieberman because he’s pro-war but shuns people like Ron Paul is not a conservative party. America is STILL largely a conservative nation; it’s the GOP that has lost its way, and it better learn its lesson by 2012.

I hate that Fox has to have “fair and balanced” and being subjected to that f’tard, Geraldo Rivera, but they are the most fair and balanced.
Major Garrett has to be nice…he’d get kicked off the Obama Stinky Plane…or beaned in the head by a brick.

That is the most dangerous combination possible for a POTUS as he will give whatever he can to whatever group appeals to him for it.

Flipping channels away from Texas Tech-Texas, I flashed to Greta. She should a clip of Palin and her family being introduced at a Halloween rally last night–and the song they played for the occasion was Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” I’d have paid money to attend that rally. It’s looks as if the introduction blew the roof off the venue.

I have literally called thousands of people in NC. First time ever in my life, but it was worth it. I am glad I did it.

Look at Rasmussen doing the ol’ CYA. Expect tighter polls Sunday and Monday ;-)

This week, for the first time in any week since mid-September, the partisan identification trends drifted slightly in the Republican direction. However, the electorate is still a bit more Democratic than it was in mid-September and quite a bit more Democratic than it was during Election 2004. When President Bush was re-elected, the number of Republicans and Democrats in the nation were essentially even.

For polling data released during the final days of Election 2008, the partisan weighting targets will be 39.9% Democratic, 33.4% Republican, and 26.7% unaffiliated. For the preceding week, the partisan weighting targets were 40.0% Democratic, 32.8% Republican, and 27.2% unaffiliated.

SouthernGent on November 1, 2008 at 10:41 PM

Privileged John McCain has known more absolute degradation than any man ever to contest the presidency. Obama was born in adversity, but he has smoothly risen to a place where he is most comfortable with those for whom things are most easy.

OK fine. However, Frum’s continuing “fashionable” belittling of Sarah Palin, however, discredits him as “one of the intellectuals.”

Frum’s failure to credit Palin with her Natural Gas pipeline victory, which will be responsible for our independence from the future Gas Cartel… is irresponsible, immature, uninformed, and damnable.

This is an election of heroes. One genuine hero of the past, John McCain. One unheralded hero of the future, Sarah Palin. One manufactured hero of the present, the puppet Obama. And one hero in his own mind, the Chia Pet.

I have a feeling the State of Oklahoma will get a scathing letter from Mr. Tru2Tx about their methodology for early voting.

How about no? Anything that Nazi apologist and anti-Semite Pat Buchanan has a hand in should be rejected by all.

Many of us are voting for Obama to teach the GOP a lesson and because some of us actually think that Obama may actually be more conservative in certain respects, like on foreign policy.

If you’re a fan of Pat Buchanan, Obama isn’t that big a stretch. Buchanan has more in common with the Democrats anyway…

As for He With Two First Names, I like his “gov’t leave us alone” approach, and while I’m not a Kristol-type hawk, Paul is too radically isolationist. Scale back? Yeah. What Paul wants to do? Nah. Plus he’s way too keen on conspiracy theories and generally being intemperate (somehow, he manages to be more of an intemperate jackass than McCain, an impressive feat itself), and is frankly a nut.

The one place the media bias is TOTALLY obvious is in imaging. Ever notice how many photos we see of Sen. McCain pointing?

I know his range of motion and therefore expressions are limited. But don’t ya think there are photos of this very vibrant many doing more than pointing at someone?

He’s made to appear rude, crotchety and old. The supporting imaging goes a long way at completing that impression.

Many people have alleged that Pat Buchanan is an anti-Semite and a Nazi apologist, but no one has proven to me that he is. I ask that people to send me the evidence. If simply saying that America shouldn’t be fighting Israel’s wars makes one an anti-Semite, does that make all Americans who think that we shouldn’t start a war with Russia over Georgia anti-Georgians?

To allege that Pat Buchanan has more in common with the Democrats is just preposterous. First of all, Buchanan is a solid conservative on social, economic, and immigration issues. Second, you self-proclaimed “conservatives” mistakenly think that Buchanan shares the Democratic Party’s stance on foreign policy. The Democrats and the Republicans are BOTH interventionalists. They just like to intervene in different ways. While Democrats want to work with the UN and give more monetary aid to corrupt third-world nations, Republicans want to start wars that are bankrupting this nation. Buchanan is strongly against both approaches.

And, for you Republicans who don’t like Ron Paul just because he’s too “isolationalist,” why are you willing to tolerate Joe Lieberman even though he’s just as liberal as Obama on social and economic issues? Some of you may need to rearrangement your priorities.

The Democrat and Republican parties are not too much different anymore.

While Democrats want to work with the UN and give more monetary aid to corrupt third-world nations, Republicans want to start wars that are bankrupting this nation. Buchanan is strongly against both approaches.

Damn straight medschoolcatholic. Although I dont like Ron Paul.

I remember in 2000 when Buchanan was running for the nomination and had a book out and McCain lied and said the book said that Buchanan believes that American never should have entered ww2. Buchanan said that it “was not just a lie but a damned lie”.

McCain has been lying ever since. F him. I am glad he wont be president….Obama is worse but this country needs an enema so…..here….we…..go.

Reagan was behind Carter in the polls in 1980 until the last week, but there was only one debate that year and it was late–so the pundits decided that Reagan got a huge push from the debate

I was in Portsmouth, and turned the radio on about midnight ( 7pm EDT ), and Reagan had already won Every-thing. It was because of that election being called so early that the networks adopted their current policy

I think Reagan pulled ahead in the polls during that last week, but I don’t remember

Janos Hunyadi on November 1, 2008 at 11:23 PM

I like the McCain quote above.

“He’s running for redistributor in chief, I’m running for commander in chief,” McCain said to loud cheers.

This is an election of heroes. One genuine hero of the past, John McCain. One unheralded hero of the future, Sarah Palin. One manufactured hero of the present, the puppet Obama. And one hero in his own mind, the Chia Pet.

RushBaby on November 1, 2008 at 10:42 PM

What an excellent summation, RB.

Many of us are voting for Obama to teach the GOP a lesson… MedSchoolCatholic

Sir, I hope for your sake that you are young, for that lesson will hit you hardest of all. I’m sympathetic to your goals, but think for a moment of what will happen to the country while you and others are giving the GOP its (rightly deserved) lesson.

1. Supreme Court appointments — which last for decades, and whose rulings tend to last forever — made not on the basis of fealty to the Constitution, but “empathy” for the downtrodden.

2. More welfare for those who pay little or no taxes, higher taxes for those who invest in the new, the untried, the innovations that create prosperity.

3. Socialized medicine

4. Cap and Trade/Environmental legislation that promises to hobble all industry.

5. Lower defense spending and disarming in the face of an Iran dedicated to the acquisition of nuclear weapons, a state at the forefront of global jihad against the West.

Do these policies sound libertarian friendly to you?

It’s true (except for SCOTUS) these could all be watered down, except they are all favored by the Democratic-dominated Congress, which looks only to get stronger.

Yes, Obama if elected will compromise somewhat. But which direction do you want to lean?

Last, remember that we do not elect parties for President, but individuals. Two are running. One is a confused, potentially influencable pragmatist who — whatever his faults, and there are many — wants to do what is best for his fellow citizens. The other is an all-but confessed communist with a serious lust for the power to remake the U.S. in the image of his leftist values and worldview.

Please think seriously over what I’ve written over the next few days.

Respectfully,
Jeff Perren

Actually, no, not Mexico. Albania, Italy, France, Spain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Liberia, Egypt, Japan, former Soviet republic of Georgia, Isreal. To name just a few.

Given a choice, I’ll live in the U.S. as middle class than any listed as “rich”.

I’ll apologize if Obama wins. I’ll definitely apologize in eternity to the Founding Fathers for Americans throwing away all that blood that was spilled for limited government.

7% solution, you seem to focus a lot on stuff like that. You should just come out of the closet and quit playing games.

However, I am voting YES on Prop 8 on Tuesday…dont get mad at me.
