Because on this blog, most of the nerds actually have jobs and will have been torn away from wife, kid, or boss agro.

Except for Dave Rywall. He probably plays FFXI. He’s one of the puppets for Soros’ character: 75 taru puppetmaster.

Warwussie online is consensual PVP, and there is no real loss for dying.

It’s the same basic concept as WoW with a “darker” look and feel. Whoop de freaking do.

EvE Online is “consensual” ONLY in the sense that you consent to PVP by hitting the “undock” button. You want dark and gritty? Play EvE Online.

Of course, I realize that the chance of real loss in-game may turn some off, and an actual player-run economy similar in many respects to the real world economy may be too much to handle for some of you “beta males”. But anytime you wimps wanna “Man Up” to an MMO that has an actual learning curve, feel free to join me in EvE.

Here’s my theory: the vibrant, child-like colours and slightly fey, almost effeminate world of World of Warcraft appeals to children, women, and rather ineffectual men. Is it then a surprise that the people of WOW would vote for Obama? And they think he’s an Elf (WOW elves are very, very effeminate. Almost gender-neutral.)

Why not ask people who play Warhammer Online Age of Reckoning who they’d vote for, and I bet you get a different picture. WAR is for the capable and the decisive. They would be McCain all the way.

If playing WOW as a female is alpha, then call me alpha. Get me within armsreach of a Taurean Druid and I can take him out in a NY second. However Undead Warlocks are a problem. And who doesn’t hate rogues except rogues? LOL

My BG honor points are ridiculous for someone at my level. It’s much more fun than shooting balls in Zuma or watching bad television.

I’m sure that the addiction will wear thin…soon…hopefully.

Hmmm…

The people who made up my farm group consisted of an Air Force pilot and his wife, a Marine DI (predictably he was our MT, the guy definetly had the voice of command), a Pharmacist, a baggage handler and an engineer at a TV station. My last guild was run by a software designer who had just signed a book deal and was getting out of the software business to write full time. In that guild the oldest person was 67, the youngest 14 (she and her dad played). They worked at a variety of occupations, from homemaker to Philosphy professor to a small engine mechanic at Sears to an RN. The guild was a basic slice of America, with a couple of Aussies, Kiwis, a couple expat Americans in Dubai and one guy who lived in Singapore tossed in.

Yes, I think these “nerds” will be voting, hun. Except the 14 year old.

So, there are more people farming plat than there are farming food? :)

I never played WoW, but started with EverQuest, tried several other games, and am currently playing City of Heroes/ Villains. What I find most interesting are the class breakdowns.

McCain is preferred by Warriors; Obama is preferred by Rogues (thieves).
