Gallup: Obama now leads by 10 among both traditional and “expanded” likely voters

Zog says McCain +1, Gallup says Obama +10, and Rasmussen splits the difference. Whatever happens, someone’s getting their face rubbed in a pile of warm shinola on Wednesday morning. Nate Silver thinks he knows which one it’ll be. We’ll do more of this on Monday, but here’s CNN’s interactive electoral vote feature in case you want to try mapping out scenarios. As things stand, McCain has to take all six toss-up states plus Pennsylvania plus one other state to win.

Let’s enjoy the left’s suffering now, while we can.

“Look, I have this sense of impending doom; we’ve had a couple of elections stolen already,” Mr. Downs said. “The only thing worse than losing is to think that you’re going to win and then lose.”

He considers that prospect and mutters, almost involuntarily, “Oh, God.”…

Ms. Kuhlman shakes her head and says, “If he doesn’t get this, I’ll be crying so hard.”

A young woman, Shana Rosen, walks by. She is from Denver and said she had told her boyfriend that their love life was on hold while she sweated out Mr. Obama’s performance in Colorado. Ask Lucy Slurzberg, an Upper West Side psychotherapist, how many of her liberal patients speak of their electoral fears during their sessions, and she answers: “Oh, only about 90 percent of them.”…

For many liberals, the chance to elect Mr. Obama, who would be the nation’s first black president, gives the United States a second chance to walk across the stage of world history. (Which also makes the possibility of his loss unspeakably more depressing; given his present lead in every poll, many liberals fear that race will explain any defeat.)

I offer you your optimistic metaphor of the day. No explanation necessary.

Berg released tape of Obama’s GRANDMOTHER SARAH HUSSEIN OBAMA STATING SHE WITNESSED HIS BIRTH IN KENYA. HERE’S AN AFFIDAVIT BY BISHOP RON McREA OUTLINING THE CONVERSATION & A LOT OF OTHER STUFF ABOUT OBAMA’S VISIT TO RAILA ODINGA… AND HIS MILLION DOLLAR DONATION TO ODINGA’S CAMPAIGN & MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING THAT THE FUNDS WERE (AMONG OTHER THINGS) TO BE USED FOR VIOLENCE AS A LAST RESULT (SIC) “…TO DISCOURAGE VOTER PARTICIPATION IN HOSTILE AREAS…”
I listened to the tape, don’t know what to make of any of it. Please READ (SHORT)AFFIDAVIT YOURSELF AND TRANSCRIPT OF CONVERSATION WITH RECORD OF PHONE CALLS..

HOPE THIS IS SOMETHING THE MEDIA LETS THE VOTERS DECIDE. FEEL FREE TO MOVE THIS POST IF THIS IS A DEAD THREAD. I’M NOT GOING TO WAIT FOR ED OR ALLAH TO POST A THREAD ABOUT IT.
.
As soon as my better half wakes up we’re driving a few states away to see our daughter, whose face was bitten by a dog. Hope there’s good news here or in the polls soon. Fingers crossed…

Now Grandma Obama is being kept away from interviews. Wonder if the tape above has anything to do with that.

NightmareOnKStreet on November 2, 2008 at 7:44 AM

After the Zogby poll was released it didn’t take the wormy media pollsters long to declare it a fluke. It was amazing how they stepped on each other heads in their rush to denounce Zogby and push their own mathematical trash polls. These pollster idiots have a golden goose by the neck and if they’re discredited they lose their place at the feeding trough. It’s a sad state of affairs when a nation is totally manipulated by television talking heads and self indulgent commercial pollsters . . . unfortunately, that’s what we have become.

rplat on November 2, 2008 at 7:56 AM

If the tape has her saying anything like that then its about the party winning and they’ll have to put Biden in there I’d imagine. It’ll be an interesting chain of events. Maybe I’ll keep my flag flying after all. :)

What happens in that case? Do they default to the other Presidential runner or does it default to his running mate?

This is assuming the story is even vlid.

johnnyU on November 2, 2008 at 7:58 AM

I want to start this off by stating something that everyone here should already know: Barack Obama cannot win this election! He can’t. He’s unable to close the deal here in an election that almost any other Democratic candidate—even ol’ Slow Joe Biden—would have run away with. He hasn’t been able to make the sale. But…and this is an important ‘but’—WE can lose it. We lose it by allowing him, his campaign, and his lapdogs here and in the media demoralize, divide, and dispirit us. In the next 72 hours or so, we are going to be exposed to a propaganda and psychological onslaught on such a scale as has been rarely seen before. Obama and his people are going to pull out all the stops here: psychological and emotional button pushing, and yes, even in some cases physical intimidation—these will all be used by the Obama campaign to divide and break us. We have to stand firm and stand united. To be as Mike Gallagher describes, “Happy Warriors” in the face of this final push by Obama and his media and pollster allies. Now is not the time for us to quarrel amongst ourselves; nor is it the time to surrender to despair. By now we know full well the handles of the Obama fifth columnists posting here: barry norris, mycowardice, Dave Rywall, Nonfactor, and others. Ignore their clumsy and ham-handed efforts to sow despair and dissension—when they post, give them the “Nelson laugh” or just plain ignore them and move on. When one of our own begins to stumble a bit…help them back up on their feet and give them a supportive shoulder to lean on until they’ve recovered and they’re back on their feet again. And if you’re feeling discouraged, there’ s a lot you can do to buck up your spirits: walk away from the computer for a bit and spend some time with the family, read a book, watch a movie—I’d recommend something light and funny, talk to friends, or, and this is really the best way to improve your morale: make some phone calls for the McCain campaign or swing on by your local Victory Office. By getting involved, you’re acting instead of reacting—you’re doing something to contribute towards your own destiny rather than just feeling like you’re being swept along in the tide. Plus, there’s the side benefit of sticking a finger in the eye of the Obama campaign of psychological, emotional, and physical intimidation.

After the election is after the election. Right now though—we have a job to do, so let’s do the best job we can and put the rest in God’s, or Fate’s, most capable hands.

Matt Helm on November 2, 2008 at 7:59 AM

Well put, Matt. The simple prescription to the malady that is Obama is for each and every one of us to exercise our right to vote. Nothing you will do in the next four years will matter more than adding your lonely voice to the deafening choir of “NO” to Obama and all that he believes. Think of the tininess of the solo voice when compared to the hair-raising majesty of a choir singing Beethoven’s 9th. We are so much more together than we are apart.

Remember the sacrifice of all those who lie silently at Arlington and innumerable places of rest around the world that gave everything so that we could live freely without tyranny. They sacrificed so that we would never know the darkness that Obama wants to cloak us under.

Your vote matters – even mine in Massachusetts, where every Democrat has a free ride virtually unopposed.

Illegitimi non carborundum!

1) OT: JohnnyU, thanks for the kind words about my daughter. She just sent me pix and I feel much better. Got her by the ear with 2 fang punctures & about 1 inch cut under the chin. Ironically, she has 2 English Mastiffs that weigh 310 lbs together and they’d never bite.
.
2) Re: my post, what did any of you think of the affidavit & the violence & money with Obama/Odinga?. Any merit, make you cringe or laugh?

.
3) A young woman who claims to be a former Hillary campaign worker and is now working for Obama has some great advice & insight. Even if she is not real, her message about morale resonates.

“…As part of my research duties, I scour right wing blogs and websites to get somewhat of a “feel” as to what is being talked about on the other side. Much of it is nonsense, but there are some exceptions which give the campaign jitters. A spirited campaign has been made to infiltrate many pro-Hillary sites and discredit them. A more disorganized, but genuine effort has also been made to sow doubts among the unapologetically right wing sites such as redstate.com. Don’t you guys get it? This has been the Obama campaign’s sole strategy from the very beginning! The only way he wins is over a dispirited, disorganized, and demobilized opposition. This is how it has been for all of his campaigns. What surprises me is that everyone has fallen for it. You may point to the polls as proof of the inevitability of all of this. If so, you have fallen for the oldest trick in the book. How did we skew these polls, you might ask? It all starts with the media “buzz” which has been generated over the campaign. Many stories are generated on the powerful Obama ground game, and how many new voters were registered. None of this happens by coincidence. It is all part of the poll-skewing process. This makes pollsters change their mixes to reflect these new voters and tilt the mix more towards Democratic voters. What is not mentioned or reported on is not the “under-reported cell phone users or young voters” we hear so much about. What is underreported is you…”

NightmareOnKStreet on November 2, 2008 at 8:41 AM

Funny, the very free speech they condemn, they rely on to get a pulse of what the public is talking about.

Also, I really have my reservations on the Obama Grandmother audio although in one statement she says she witnessed the birth, and then she says she was in Kenya while he was being born in the USA.

Senator Dole’s campaign took a wild shot and it cost him 8 points or more overnight. eh, I’d get more info on this before going too big with it.

irongrampa on November 2, 2008 at 10:20 AM

An Obama insider stated “We owe the LAT big time”. That from a LAT staffer, where the power is crowing about how they have the “ultimate; I owe you” from the next president
Apparently Obama’s handlers know what is on the tape and it is devastating, in the sense it undermines his “he is just a neighbor”, and the poem and Obama’s reaction is not what they want seen. Apparently Obama’s table is the “who’s who of I don’t want to know who”.
This comes from a LAT insider, he/she hasn’t seen the tape, but rumors are rampant around the LAT. And moral is at an all time low.
Lots of dissension in the LAT, most want the tape viewed, knowing that the tape was given to the LAT to be reported and keep the source secret. And they know the reason for not showing the tape.
One of the problems is the tape angle could show who did the tapping. But most feel that is just a cover angle.

I think we are all being set up. the perfect storm to steal an election is about to hit.
1. History in the making.
2. Massive voter fraud by ACORN
3. Dems in high places assisting in voter fraud, exhibit A, Ohio Secretary of State refusing to look into 200,000 funny registrations.
4. Real voter intimidation the likes of which we have never seem,,, ACORN and Truth Squads.
5. The race card
6. A media that has become an arm of the Obama campaign.
7. Foreign shady donations and open support and interest for an Obama win from our enemies.
8. A Marxist candidate with terrorist friends.
9 A Marxist candidate with a cult like following who wants his own National Security force.
10 The unheard of chance of a lifetime for one party rule with a filibuster proof Senate.
With all of that,, is it really that much of a stretch to imagine that there is not pressure put on some of these polls.
Would not the polls be the ace in the hole??
Obama needs to be ahead in the polls to have the greatest and best chance to win this election. If the fraud doesn’t win him the election,, the lawsuits will! If the perception is that Obama is ahead,, and he loses,, the screams will be he had to have won because he was ahead in the polls! The pressure on the courts to hand Obama the election will be tremendous!
The only remedy is that McCain MUST WIN WITH A SIGNIFICANT MAJORITY to help nullify any lawsuits!
This will be key!
Am I being paranoid??
I hope I am! It is his supporters, though, that are threatening riots and that blood will even run in the streets should he lose!!

Don’t fight with any Obamabots posting here–that gives them what they want and it allows them to sow even more seeds of chaos and despair.

The most curious item of all is that it seems like for every piece of bad news about Obama that comes to light, he seems to pick up a little in the polls. That is certainly counter-intuitive and causes me a great deal of suspicion when dealing with the polls.
