I hope this is Topic #1 in Ohio this weekend.

Why am I now getting the feeling that its going to be a tie on Tuesday, and then the hurricane hits, dwarfing the 2000 storm?

If Maverick & Goose lose Tuesday, that means a guy nobody ever heard of in 2003 went from a giving pretty speech to the WH in the span of four years.

Obama’s historic significance might end up being the way in which he lowered the bar for would-be presidents all over the country. Within one or two cycles, youre going to see as-yet-unknown gabllionaire business people who have never held any elective office before running straight for the WH, leapfrogging Congress or state-level elective office. And that’s when the fun really starts. NYC’s soon-to-be 3rd term Mayor Bloomberg is an early-model version of this coming candidate type.

However, if Obama can go from geek to chic in 4 years,
Gov Palin, if she plays her many cards the right way, can go from being Governor/VP nominee to the WH in the same time frame as Obama.

You can bet how this will turn out. Vanessa Niekamp is the designated fall guy. (”She’s a Republican we don’t want around anyway. Let’s kill two birds with one stone.”) The public employee union will not defend her when she is fired either. All sorts of efforts to turn up any dirt on her will be made, rumors will be started about her and the papers will print them without waiting for any verification. The KOS crowd will say she is a lying racist neocon etc. etc. and the Governor will make sure no real investigation goes anywhere. Should by a miracle Jones-Kelly get in any real trouble she will be assured that Obama will pardon her if she keeps her mouth shut once the political coast is clear.

(Not that I have become cynical or anything like that.)

The only reason you are pursuing this is because both Obama and the wonderful Jones-Kelly are black. Racist, lynching, Jim Crow Republicans just want to keep the black man and woman down while they rape and pillage mother earth for their fat-cat oligarch masters. All Jones-Kelly was trying to do was to raise the level of discussion and ensure a proper perspective on the issues raised by the so-called Joe the Plumber (who was a Rethuglican plant).

Wonder if the Obama DOJ is going to do anything about this? Not holding my breath!

When McCain wins, I know he is all bipartisan and such nonsense, but the DOJ needs to be treated to a JTP job. McCain needs to have a Roto-Rooter job done and ASAP. The is no way voter fraud cases should not be fully investigated, and prosecuted. The same goes for this case involving Joe. ACORN needs to be no longer federally funded, and the actions by those in power in OH need to be stopped, or other states will feel free to commit the same type of actions next go round.

There are fairly stringent “fired for retaliation” and “whistle-blower” laws in place. If Niekamp is *ever* fired for ANYthing the rest of her life, she can sue and claim retaliation and guaranteed collect a gazillion dollars from the state, and maybe from the supervisors involved personally. With the amount of publicity this has received, no jury would ever believe that she was fired for just cause even if she was videotaped torturing a kitten at her desk.
