Those people are the reason I specify I am from UPSTATE when I tell them I am from NY. I remember when I was young there was a rumor of NYC breaking from the State. Then they realized they would loose have their income from the state taxpayers and have to import all the city’s water.

Having grown up there until 1987 (pre- Rudy Guiliani days).On return visits I have found that the city has been transformed for the better. I wouldn’t even bother understanding a NY Lib. Then again, I spent most of my youth in the east village experimenting with different substances. Nevertheless, NYC does deserve a visit due to its rich history and great landmarks.
BTW, I’ve always envied folks who live in the heartland.

When I went to FIT and started College Republicans there (ha, you can imagine how successful that was. NOT.) I did a few things like this around midtown and around my campus and let me tell you, people were not happy.

I would not do this in my neighborhood of Bed-Stuy in Brooklyn though. I would get shot.

A suggestion. It’s an amazing physical site to see, built and created by people long dead, and peopled by temporary residents lacking the slightest sense of what made it all possible.

So visit one day. It’s like going to see the Forum in Rome, even while knowing that the current inhabitants likely don’t even know who the ancient Romans were.

Don’t pay the slightest attention to anything or anyone that’s alive. It’s a trip into history.

Agreed. I love New York but rather dislike a lot of New Yorkers. The Museums, restaurants, theaters, parks – all worth seeing.

The UWS is mostly about the Park, and it works well if you have kids and like outdoor exercise. Otherwise, things are probably more interesting below 23rd street.

You should visit. I’m a Sandhills guy and have been there a couple of times on business. I enjoyed it tremendously. It has a whole different feel than any other city, but I couldn’t keep up with the pace for very long. I would really enjoy a bus tour or something similar through the 5 boroughs.

If BHO gets elected, then New York is going to return to its state in the 70′s (which most of these west side retards don’t know or remember). A little refresher course: Apartments on West End Ave were going for $1 so that people would just be released from their maintenance payments.

Back then, it took Felix Rohatyn and an improving American economy to keep New York from total insolvency. This time, there won’t be any outside help, since BHO’s programs will drive the US to insolvency – which is a situation that no one wants to come face-to-face with, since it is really, really, really bad stuff that the Earth has never seen in its history (the collapse of the world’s reserve and trade currency).

People are playing with fire, here, and they don’t even know what fire is.

I’ve been in San Diego County since ’83 and I’ve been up north and to LA, so i know exactly what you mean. The people who would slash your tires are from UC Santa Cruz and certain areas of LA, San Francisco and any major city. A lot of them are suffering from white guilt or black entitlement.
Sadly, my family in Ohio could have been among those people on the West Side of NYC, even tho my bro would try to appear tolerant. He hates Sarah Palin; altho he hasn’t told me why I know…boy, do I know.
