I was happily able to get my manager registered to vote this year (she's 34 and never voted), and her family is going for John McCain, baby!

All the doctors I work with - John McCain, baby!

All my friends - John McCain, baby!

All my family (including my just-returned-from-Iraq-where-his-absentee-ballot-was-"lost"-son AND my youngest 18-year-old voting for the first time) - John McCain, baby!

To borrow a phrase from the "other" campaign,

YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arrgh no!!! Just the kind of twee crap I’m trying to get away from…no offence, but I’d love to meet some real Texans, whatever that may be.

Go to Schulenburg, Texas to the Oakridge Smokehouse. Great food and the Shiner Brewery is right down the road.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Palin has more experience in a leaders position than Obama does. I'm not saying SHE'S ready for Prez but she is better qualified than Obama is right now. McCain has something you can only get with age, and that is experience! He has a long life ahead of him and Palin can get the next levels of experience she's gonna need to follow him 4 or 8 years from now as our VP. Palin's been running a whole State and kicking ass the whole way. pffft. Who are people trying to kid?

Nothing against Italian food, but I think French Eurasian is the best in the world. Especially out of Vietnam.

you know, that place that John Kerry once served

Reminds me of a 'stereotypical' joke:

What's it like in heaven? Well, the British are the police, the Germans are the mechanics, the French are the cooks, the Swiss are the organizers, and the Italians are the lovers.
What's it like in hell? Well, the British are the cooks, the Germans are the police, the French are the mechanics, the Swiss are the lovers, and the Italians are the organizers.

Join the NRA and go to a gun range. Hell, you can even rent full auto weapons at a range. You'll meet plenty of 'real' Texans. We look like Brits but BBQ a hell of a lot better.

Well, in the end, even I have managed overcome my 33 years of disdain and distrust, to not only vote for McCain, but give him some money to maybe help pay for a last ditch effort commercial or something. I hope he doesn't waste it, although he probably will.

I almost can't believe I have done it. Anything less of a threat to America than 0bama could not have made me do it. I still don't think that it will be a good thing in the long run, but I just can't let that marxist con man and his vapid supporters win.

If we should pull this one out, and maybe even pick up some House seats though, please don't think we have it made. The next four years will be a constant challenge to keep America strong.

...the family and I lived in Cambridgeshire for three years, and twee stuff sends us into clouds of fond memories...we're anglophiles with a capital "phile"...still....

...wanna meet real Texans? Come to South Texas...get out of he cities...Waco's also nice...Fred'burg is excellent, if touristy....

...come to the Institute of Texas Cultures expo, San Antonio every year, first weekend in June I think...lots of kitch, but some nice folks...hot, though....

...check out the triangle of small towns between Austin, San Antonio and College Station...big area, but lots of great little places...try out La Grange...very pretty place....

...keep an eye in the paper in spring and early summer for some of the little town fairs and stuff...Luling Watermelon Thump, Poteet Strawberry Festival (9 miles from my house)...that sort of thing....

...but, whatever you do, get out of Austin...or, at least, range out from Austin....

As Rush would say, "It is, what it is"

We've been handed a crap sandwich of a candidate. If it wasn't for his VP pick of Sarah Palin, I would have just yawned and pulled the lever for just about anyone, but Obama. But you are right, I wonder if other socialist and communist party candidates are going to vote Obama?

Rush was panicked about McCain winning the primaries because NON conservatives were deciding the Republican nominations. He can't stand RINOs, but I think a blow out socialist like Obama scares him to death.

Oregon and Washington States have some great food and some of the Best Winery's and Micro Breweries. The cuisine is eclectic and a mix of all sorts of different cultures.

Remember, the exit polls will have Obama winning everything to help to discourage voting out west in the mountain and midwest.

Don’t believe it for a second.

…too true…too true….

…but then what’s lost if the Pacific time zone goes south? Washington? Obama Lefties. Oregon? Transplanted California Obama Lefties. California? Transplanted Sonora, Durango, Chiapas, El Salvador, Guatamala and Chinese Lefties…with San Porncisco thrown in…no losses there.

The mountains? There’s the rub.

...should you get homesick, come down to San Antonio...there's a Brit-themed shop, with stuff like biscuits, teas and videos of shows there (UK PAL and NTSC, I think)...touristy, but some good stuff...and a place called the "Lion and Rose Pub"...as touristy as the shop is, I suspect, but not bad, I hear....

Off Topic but, wth...

http://buzz.yahoo.com/article/1:y_news:5a9a3b2903a06b27a2c6bda92a53fd65

BHO's Aunt from Kenya, who he claims he didn't know was living in public housing in Boston, is also here illegally after being denied entry and ordered out of the country FOUR years ago!! How BHO can claim he didn't know she was here, even after his 2006 trip to Kenya to campaign for his cousin, is about as comical as not knowing his step-brother lived in a ramshackle hut in a Kenyan slum on $12/yr...

Senator Government, aka Mr. Charitable Giving, sure likes to "spread the wealth" when that wealth is taxpayer money and not his own...

Agreed - heard Mark Levin briefly tonight, and he did a great job of getting the word out on this, going over & over the point, almost steeling folks for the avalanche of B.S. he presumes (rightly IMHO) is about to be unloaded on all of us: "it's over, go home, no need to come out & vote, what a landslide in the making..."

Sure.

Iowa... Arizona... Obama's turning up everywhere, it seems, just to rub in his enormous "landslide".

I predict a closer race than expected. McCain may not get it all here in CA, but I think he’s gonna make The Messiah wet his knickers!

MrScribbler on October 31, 2008 at 11:28 PM

MrScribbler, I'm from the OC and my husband grew up in East L.A., where his parents and some siblings still live. Except for my DH, they are all conservative Democrats who would have supported Hillary but refuse to support Obama. They really relate to Palin and will vote for McCain.

My DH is all too aware of inner city racial tensions and, given the demographics in California, predicted that McCain will do much better than expected and Obama much worse.
