Obama paid $700,000 for staging, sound, and lights for Germany speech

posted at 5:25 pm on October 31, 2008 by Allahpundit

The perfect companion piece to the study released yesterday confirming what Palin’s argued all along: That there is, in fact, a double standard for women candidates by which votes depend partly on their attractiveness. Whether $150,000 in clothes that’ll ultimately be given to charity is a better value under those circumstances than almost three-quarters of a million dollars to feed The One’s ego by staging a speech in front of a foreign audience that did jack for him at home, I leave to you to judge. (Hint: Yes.)

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama paid a German company nearly $700,000 for staging, sound and lighting services at a time he delivered a speech this summer in which he declared himself a “citizen” of both the U.S. and the world…

The German company, whose Web page says it specializes in theater and event management and advertises the Obama speech with numerous pictures on its marketing pages, is listed as a disbursement recipient on Mr. Obama’s most recent campaign expenditures report, filed Thursday with the Federal Election Commission.

The company was paid $667,082 by the Obama campaign in three separate disbursements in July and August, according to the FEC records. The campaign also spent another $9,018 to Bero Berlin – Eurolimousine, the records show…

For hours before Mr. Obama arrived, attendees listened to live reggae, drank beer and munched on bratwurst and steak sandwiches. Many in the crowd sported black and white Obama T-shirts with the slogan, “I want you to stop climate change.”

The bad news? Obama donors had their hard-earned money diverted to pay for German Woodstock. The good news? Given the near-total lack of credit-card verification measures on the campaign’s website, the Germans themselves likely helped offset the cost. Exit question: How many domestic news outlets willing to look into basic information like this that embarrasses The One are we left with now? Fox News, the Wash Times, the Journal… Did I leave anyone out?

Exactly where did Obama file the German tax-paid contribution to his POTUS campaign.

Yeah, I remember him fiddling the tune that it wasn’t what it was, his international POTUS promotion that included Der Spiegel Nazi endorsements and advertising provided without charge as well. Exactly where is Obama’s accounting of the international donations and contributions to his POTUS campaign?!

An Oct. 28 Toledo Police Department news release stated Toledo Police Records Clerk Julie McConnell, has been charged with “Gross Misconduct” for allegedly making an improper inquiry into a state database in search of information pertaining to Samuel “Joe the Plumber” Wurzelbacher on Oct. 16.

In the new issue of the Toledo Free Press

Consistent with the bargaining agreement, a disciplinary hearing will be scheduled within the next ten days on a date and time mutually agreed upon by the City AFSCME Local 7.

Police Chief Mike Navarre said a member of the media, whom he would not name, asked McConnell to verify an address, and because the request was for a non-law enforcement matter, her searching computer records violated regulations.

pullingmyhairout on October 31, 2008 at 5:40 PM

The real dirt about BHO, that’s going to come spilling out on Nov 5th (whether the retard is elected or not), will make jaws drop around the nation.

For a minor preview, Debbie Schlussel has some more info on what was at that Khalidi event:

Reports of the partial guest list at the 2003 dinner include “the Sanabel Debka troupe”, but the group’s name is really “Sanabel AlQuds Dabka troupe.” Sanabel means “grains” or “kernels” (of wheat or barley) in Arabic. AlQuds, or “The Holy”, is the Muslim name for Jerusalem, which is ripped-off from the eternal Hebrew name for Jerusalem, “Ir Kadosh”, or Holy City.

The Milwaukee-based Muslim kids dancing troupe purports to perform the debka, a Middle-Eastern step-dance. But this group, made up of mostly Palestinian Muslims and under the auspices of the Milwaukee Muslim American Society does far more in its “performance.” And it’s frightening.

In June 2004, I went undercover and attended a Dearborn fundraising dinner for Islamic Relief, the Muslim Brotherhood charity that is a front for HAMAS and Al-Qaeda. The event was MC’ed by Rayed Tayeh, who orchestrated the Starbucks Coffee boycott and who is believed to be a HAMAS operative.

Sanabel AlQuds performed to songs calling for martyrdom to “get back Palestine.” The kids were young boys, some of them appearing to be no older than seven years old.

But they didn’t just dance the debkah.

Suddenly the Sanabel AlQuds dancers pulled out fake swords and rifles and adorned three of their troupe respectively with an American, Isreaeli, and British flag. The others pretended to behead and/or shoot the boys wearing the flags. Then they put red scarves over the three boys heads, signifying blood and no head. Then, the flags were taken off, thrown to the ground, and trampled on by this young group of Milwaukee dancers.

This was on the Sunday that U.S. contractor Paul Johnson was found beheaded in Saudi Arabia and not long after Nicholas Berg and several other westerners were found beheaded in Iraq.

Once I saw this “performance” I realized why there were signs all over saying, “No video equipment or cameras allowed.”

the popular philosophy of the day, which is all over hollywood movies, came from German thinkers. namely Nihilism.

Interesting side note, people have tried to represent this philosophy with a Zero (0), for man = nothing. You’ll see Nihilistic movies use this symbol alot, Woody Allen is one good example. Anyway, ironic I think since the “O” in Obama is a nice substitute.

Here’s a good rule of thumb that can help you determine if a work of “art” is really art.

Ask yourself this question: is this something I can do?

If the answer is no (for example, Buonarotti’s Pieta) then it is art.

If you are right, I’ll declare you a demigod. – Entelechy on October 31, 2008 at 6:17 PM

I’m already a demigod…at least in these parts I am. Just listen to songs of praise they sing to me.

My parrot loves the NY Times. He’s a Norwegian Blue – very rare. Strange thing is, he just sits there and stares. Doesn’t move much. But he doesn’t complain much, either.

My Cockatiel doesn’t get the NY Times, but she hears that it is great for lining your birdcage.

Then I’ll declare you a 3/4 of a god. No mortal can be a god.

Good thing that parrot can’t speak (assumption).

By definition a demigod is only half god. Tsk, tsk.

The parrot has a rash too.

HornetSting on October 31, 2008 at 6:29 PM

The “Americans” voting for Obama just want their welfare.

HornetSting on October 31, 2008 at 6:13 PM

Construction contractor Tito Munez figured it out. Don’t sell your vote for a promise of a $.97/hour tax benefit that will cost untold tax increases to obtain. Why fall to your knees for stale crumbs when you are already standing with liberty, capable of success with EFFORT.

Alan Colmes admitted cowardice wanting to hide under his desk in shame.

Yes, I knew that. Having attempted to declare you that, and you having claimed to be one already, I tried to raise you by 1/4, since, assuming that you’re human, you can’t be a full god. Where’s the flaw?

If Manly called this election and McCain wins, I will send him a box of raisins, a fatted calf, and a vial of Michelle Obama’s tears to add to his medicated cream. His cream will then be proud, but only if his wife runs for president.
