Iran threatens suicide attacks against the US

Iran stepped up its rhetoric against the US today by threatening to use suicide-bomber attacks against America.  Ari Larijani, the former nuclear negotiator, referred to the 13-year-old boy sent by the mullahs to disable an Iraqi tank in the 1980s as a model for the fight against the Americans.  Larijani promised an “unexpected response”:

Referring to the US army’s attacks in Pakistan and Syria, Larijani said they would not be answered with diplomatic protests.

“The US method and conduct, expressed by this aggression, will only be stopped by a clear-cut and unexpected response, whose grounds were set by the martyr Hussein Fahmida,” Larijani said during a parliamentary session on Wednesday.

Fahmida was 13 when he detonated an explosive device he carried on him, destroying an Iraqi tank during the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s.

“America should be aware not to put its huge body on top of the suicide bombers’ explosive devices,” Larijani said.

Larijani was not alone yesterday in Iranian verbal volleys against the US.  Supreme leader Ali Khamanai spoke less literally when he warned nations who didn’t respect Iran’s independence that they would “have their hands cut off”.  Khamanai said that reconciliation between Iran and the US would not be possible because Iranians hate America too much, presumably because of our opposition to the ruling mullahcracy and our support of the Shah — although the latter occurred before most Iranians were alive.

The threat to use suicide bombers marks a cassus belli, if the US wanted one as a pretext for strikes.  Openly threatening attack on a non-belligerent nation gives that country a right to defend itself.  Israel didn’t take the bait with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s genocidal lunacy over the last two years, and it would be madness to attack Iran now anyway.

However, that doesn’t diminish the seriousness of an Iranian leader standing in its parliament and endorsing terrorism as a state policy.  That’s exactly what Larijani did in this statement today, and the US should respond by placing Iran’s Revolutionary Guard on the list of terrorist organizations in order to freeze its funds.  The Kyl-Lieberman bill would have done that last year, but it was opposed by Barack Obama and most of the other Democrats in the Senate.   Larijani’s threat is an open declaration of Iran as a terrorist state, and a lack of response would encourage others to follow suit.

What the heck is it about these wacked-out Iranian yoohoos that seem so insistent on wanting to do themselves in? Must be something in the water out there.

Nope, attacks will happen after the election, but before the inagguaration.

Its a large disinformation campaign. They know Barry will cave to their demands… while Bush will fight…. soooo…

They attack while Bush is still in office, then BACK OFF as soon as Barry is in office, so they can negotiate with him from a position of “strength”.

Yes, and the reason they don’t follow through is Bush.

Ed, your logic is a little odd here. You suggest that Iranians saying they would resist an attack on their soil by the United States is a ‘cassus-belli.’ That’s just plain silly. What nation would attack another simply because they promised to retaliate if invaded by another?

Larinjani is speaking in past tense. He’s saying it’s time for payback in the form of terrorism.

The Mullah’s want an Obama Presidency and they think that if they throw up a small stink bomb its an opportunity for Mr smooth to look good.

Speakup on October 30, 2008 at 12:07 PM

Just as long you don’t do a Bill Clinton after a terrorist attack and fire off a whole bunch of cruise missiles at an empty tent in Afghanistan.

The best way to deal with Iran is to do what NATO did to Serbia during the Kosovo war in the Balkans back in the 90’s. Use Air power to systematically target and destroy their leadership, command and control systems, offencive military capacity and vital infrastructure until the civilian population have had enough and demand a change of government.

This is another of those strange disconnects about Obama.

The Muslim world seems to think he is a Muslim. Leader after Leader of Islamic countries think so…

But then, in Kenya, they think he is a “Son of Kenya”… and his Grandma says he was born there….

There have been PROOVEN campaign contributions from Non Citizens from the Palestinian Territories…

Its sad when this guy is this close to being President, and no one knows who he really is.

“Iran? A threat? Are you serious? We went in there with the Belgians and the Swedes and we kicked those mullahs and their Revolutionary Guards the hell out of there. And it was all Barack’s idea. And now they have free and fair elections. I was telling a guy about this in Home Depot just last week…”

Rather a shame we are at a point in civilized history where we cannot adopt a variation of the “Roman Response”: for every American citizen who perishes in any any attack on the United States made by Iran, we will obliterate a city of no fewer than 10,000 Iranians. It worked marvelous much for the Romans.

Now more than ever. I simply can not fathom the fact that our enemies have better secured borders than we do – and the fact that it is “alright” with the idiots responsible for protecting us.

Darbraun on October 30, 2008 at 11:24 AM

You have to realize that Bush wants to combine the US, Mexico and Canada into one country and he thinks that the more illegals the harder it will be to stop. Hence no border enforcement! Bush is a Globelist! Just like his father.

jtpcamp on October 30, 2008 at 1:35 PM

Iran gave America and Obama a sneak peak at one essay question on the test Joe the Plugger mentioned.

A friend sniped in reply to this news, “[Obama] will still fail it.” Yet therein lies the question: will the electorate let him take it?

Sergeant Tim on October 30, 2008 at 1:46 PM

You can bet, fewer and fewer raise their hand when asked which one wants to strap on the bomb…still too many, but what a bunch of idiots.
If not for Bush, I can’t imagine how many of these goons would have made it over here on “student” visas.

right2bright on October 30, 2008 at 1:58 PM

However, that doesn’t diminish the seriousness of an Iranian leader standing in its parliament and endorsing terrorism as a state policy.

If the media were doing its job, if ever gave a press conference, Obama would get a question like, “Senator Obama, the fact Ari Larijani threatened the US with suicide bomb attacks in retaliation for the recent US strike in Syria, and some of our actions in Afghanistan as well–do you think that this should be viewed an admission by the Iranian government that terrorism is official state policy of Iran, and further that it constitutes a causus belli?”

Obama responds: “Phil. This is line with what we’ve been saying, that the actions we take must be actions that would be approved of by international law and the international community, and the Syrian action is clearly outside of that. Last time I checked, we are not at war with Syria. We’re going to be dealing with the ramifications of the failed foreign policy of the Bush administration for years to come.”

Phil: “Is that what your response will be to foreign policy crises should you be elected–that the Bush policies were to blame?”

Obama: “According the my calendar, the election isn’t until this coming Tuesday. Next question?”

The real answer? “You bet your life Phil.”

If Obama wins, there will be disasters like in the book of Revelations, and I am Jew who truly despises that book–not the rest of the Christian New Testament. And this means that the Christian here will be crazier as they turn to that crazy book. This is how Obama’s pacifism will lead to catastrophe. Iran is an exporter of crude oil, and a major importer of refined petroleum. Put a few missals into their one refinery and the whole country comes to a halt. Worse, there are only 50% native Persians, with the balance of the population divided among several nationalities. The country is unstable, and could be destabilized further with a little effort.

Grue in the Attic on October 30, 2008 at 4:16 PM

You’re right, Grue. I’m glad you brought this up. When I say Russia and the Arabs will launch a sneak attack on Israel in the last days and include Iran with them, I’m making a general statement about the coalition of armies the Bible lists that are involved in the war commonly known as the Gog and Magog War. Maybe I should clarify that Iranians are Persian, but I try not to complicate things. The Bible makes the distinction though. The Bible makes the distinction in Ezekiel 38 and 39 as it warns us that Russia and its coalition will attack Israel:

“Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, (The prophecy is against Gog because God is opposed to him. Gog is a powerful leader of Russia)… I (God) will turn thee back and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee (Russia) forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armor, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: PERSIA (modern day IRAN), ETHIOPIA, and LIBYA with them; all of them with shield and helmet: …and many people with thee… in the LATTER YEARS thou (Russian-Arab coalition) shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, AGAINST THE MOUNTAINS OF ISRAEL,…Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee. And thou shalt come up AGAINST MY PEOPLE OF ISRAEL, as a cloud to cover the land; IT SHALL BE IN THE LATTER DAYS, and I will bring thee against My land, that the heathen may know Me, (SO UNBELIEVERS WILL KNOW GOD IS REAL)…” (Ezekiel 38:3-5,8-9,16)

I can’t think of anything that will force the US Government to FINALLY close the borders like Iranian suicide bombers.

BUT …

Iran does have lot of young people who wonder what in the hell their parents were thinking when they ran the Shah out of Dodge. So I think if the Islamofascist government of Iran wants to try suicide bombing for awhile – they may just find they don’t have very deep pockets in the way of resources. And it will just be one more thing to tick off the government opposition inside Iran.

Hopefully we have lots of spies in Iran working to overthrow this evil government … the way we did when we put the Shah in charge of it all those years ago.

Iran said if you attack them they will not responed diplomatically like Syria and Pakistan.

Retaliation. What do you think Iran will do if you attacked them?
Iran is not Iraq, to de-humanise a nation is disappointing.

no talking to you…remember? how the US supports terrorists (THE IRA) around the world..then you morphed into some poor irish person.. you need professional help.

Iran said if you attack them they will not responed diplomatically like Syria and Pakistan.

they’ve been at war with us for 30 years, you idiot. we haven’t been fighting back. duhhhh

Retaliation. What do you think Iran will do if you attacked them?

more of the same they’ve been doing to us for the last 30 years…terrorism. we should have wiped them out long ago…but the Lord has another plan for them…one they won’t like at all…they’ll be wishing the US had hit them….

Right4life,
Yes i do remember that Americans funded and supported I.R.A terrorists.Yourselves and Libyia were the biggest donor’s.

I am surprised to see that my DNA is of great concern.Born
in Ireland ,moved to U.K in teens.

That’s ‘morphing’.What’s all that irish american, italian american, greek american…..even when they have never been there and the last relative born there was 150yrs ago.Is it because they are so proud of their european heritage and custom’s rather then being just American?

What has Iran done to the U.S which is not in response to U.S interference?

The ‘Lord’ when you make comments like that,do you know who you sound like-radical islam.I pity you if that is how you feel about human beings. If that is representative of how others in the U.S think, then again i am saddened to see a great country become morally bankrupt.

I think you need therapy to try and find some compassion and quench your love of war.

really? lets see you back it up. post your proof.

even when they have never been there and the last relative born there was 150yrs ago.Is it because they are so proud of their european heritage and custom’s rather then being just American?

yeah cause if they ever went there, they’d be ashamed to ever be associated with the cess-pool that europe has become.

What has Iran done to the U.S which is not in response to U.S interference?

you really are a piece of trash. its all the US fault for everything that happens…moron. you deserve the islamic future you’re gonna get honey. enjoy living under sharia! *smirk* Iran took our embassy hostage, after Carter helped Khomenie take power…too bad I wasn’t president…Iran would have ceased to exist as a nation. but as I said, Iran will get theirs….

The ‘Lord’ when you make comments like that,do you know who you sound like-radical islam

yeah there is a Lord, His name is Jesus, and the day will come you have to face Him. He rules the nations, and does as He will with them. you can believe it or not. doesn’t matter…you’ll learn the hard way. Try reading Ezekiel 37-39…you see the world as it is today, with Israel reborn…just as the Lord said it would be…bet you just hate Israel don’t ya?? europeans are an anti-semitic lot. with Iran as their primary enemy, along with Russia…sound familiar??

I pity you

at least I won’t be bending over for Allah anytime soon..as you will. *smirk*

i am saddened to see a great country become morally bankrupt.

the only one morally bankrupt is YOU.

I think you need therapy to try and find some compassion and quench your love of war.

yeah its too bad our ‘love’ of war saved pieces of sh** like you from the nazis. you deserved them…and you sure deserve your new mullah-masters…enjoy your burkha!! *smirk*

pathetic isn’t it?

right4life on November 1, 2008 at 9:08 AM

oh and maggie…what did the IRA ever do to you that wasn’t a response to something the british did? hmmmm??

right4life on November 1, 2008 at 9:19 AM

Someone needs to tell sweet Barney Franks this news since he has the bright idea to CUT DEFENSE.
Let’s see, now that he has played a large part in screwing up the economy, his next goal is to ruin the military.
Don’t you just love the people that are running Congress?
Hopefully, there will be some house cleaning on Nov 4th.

“yeah there is a Lord, His name is Jesus, and the day will come you have to face Him.”

And so will you. From all your comments, which show your outlook/worldview, I don’t think he will be proud of you. You revel in death and destruction. You can go to church 10 times a day and say you except Jesus in your heart, but He isn’t fooled by that.

Chimpy on November 1, 2008 at 8:52 PM

thats for Him to decide not you now isn’t it?

You revel in death and destruction

you’re an idiot. its your leftist policies that bring death and destruction. do you think Jesus is fond of cutting a hole in a babie’s head a sucking out the brains? hmmmm??

but He isn’t fooled by that.

Chimpy on November 1, 2008 at 8:52 PM

and He’s not fooled by you either sonny boy.

right4life on November 1, 2008 at 9:08 PM

uh its ‘accept’. but I’m sure you have excepted Jesus from your heart.

right4life on November 1, 2008 at 9:08 PM

Thanks for proving my point. Jesus has already told us what he expects, and it’s certainly not what comes out of your heart/head.
Examples:
I never said I supported abortion in any thread at HA. But you bear false witness against me.
Would Jesus approve of you calling me an idiot? Disparaging a large group of people because their not like/think like you?

More examples: >

I agree. If your scenario were reversed, do you believe those countries “have every right to return the favor”?
Chimpy on October 31, 2008 at 2:26 AM

sure chimp, let em try. make our day…
right4life on October 31, 2008 at 10:15 AM

I posit if the US invades and is repulsed, then you posit “the aggressor should be more aggressive if the victims dare defend themselves”. This doesn’t square with, “Do unto others”.

you really are a piece of trash. its all the US fault for everything that happens…moron…

That’s not the Jesus I know who basically said “the only way to the father is through me”.

uh its ‘accept’. but I’m sure you have excepted Jesus from your heart.
right4life on November 1, 2008 at 9:12 PM

I have had a few beers. What’s your excuse mister grammar policeman? And it took you 4 minutes to figure that out. Grasping at straws?

why? better to attack them now, before they have a nuclear weapon, don’t you think?
right4life on October 30, 2008 at 10:59 AM

You forgot a capital “W” and “B”. Were you tipsy @ 11AM?

right4life on October 30, 2008 at 11:43 AM

right4life on October 31, 2008 at 10:14 AM
