The John Woo one (see Allah’s link) needed to have McCain and Bin Laden gun battle in a Catholic church. Guns blaze, statues of the Blessed Virgin shatter, doves take flight from the window sills, and at the climactic moment (!!!) McCain and Bin Laden freeze, pointing guns at each other in a Mexican standoff, perfectly framed by the camera…

Loved the last one, but frankly any spoof of M. Night ShamWOW!hackalackadingdong is funny to me.

Pro: Great awkward, dead-eyed “MNS Cameo” spoof.

Con: Horrible McCain impersonation. I though he was supposed to be Bush for a minute.

I don’t really know these directors — but I loved #5 (the middle one on this clip).

Very surreal, very creepy.

I’d love to see Chris Matthews’s head explode if McCain actually released a completely surreal ad full of wierd subtext like that one.

The last one fell flat, for me. I love M. Night Shamlayan’s (sp?) work, but thought the running theme of “how horrible would it be to be that monster John McCain” was a bit backward. If it were going to be a McCain ad, he should turn out in horror to discover he’s Obama… no?
