Caption contest: DSCC takes out the trash

posted at 5:30 pm on October 30, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

A friend in Washington DC sends me this picture taken outside the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s office this morning.  Whatever could the DSCC have been doing?  Looks like an awful lot of shredding in the final days of the election:

Just in case you can’t read that sign by the door:

What do you suppose this means?  Leave your best guess or humorous caption in the comments!

Interesting historical notes on shredding:

• After the US Embassy in Tehran was seized in 1979, the Iranians reconstructed many documents that had been hastily shredded.

• After East Germany fell, the Germans processed 33 million shredded documents from the Stasi’s archives.

• The case against Enron came largely from evidence found in shredded documents.

RushBaby on October 30, 2008 at 5:56 PM

That’s actually not that much shredding. I interned at a political organization in DC last spring, and sometimes we’d shred that much paper each day. Not because we were doing anything nefarious, the work just required confidentiality.
