The best part of his speech came near the end of the 23 minutes, and I suspect many people may have missed it due to time constraints.

well worth viewing

Indeed. Thank you Ed. As Prager put it, it's a good thing to preach to the choir.

BTW: I'll never forget Prager's enthusiasm the day after Sarah gave her conventiion speech. He told how for the first time in his life, when she finished and waved to the audience, he found himself waving back - to a politician! Great moment.

I listen to Prager M-F via streaming with sometimes a switch between him and Rush for more political reasons. Dennis doesn't only talk politics which is refreshing especially this election cycle. I'm a member of his Prager Group out here as well. What he said at the end of his speech Dennis lives by and encourages us all to do the same. It's good to have support from those with clarity about why we're in this thing fighting together for the America that Reagan talked about.

Is the Prager speeech the longest because he inserted commercials into it in an attempt to get people to pay money to his subscription site to listen to him commercial free?

Blarg, I hope you wander back to read my comment.

I heard about a 15-second mention of his website/newsletter in context with what he was discussing. Your exaggeration is NOT appreciated and should not deter others from listening. Prager is an honest, sincere and intelligent individual. You do him a great disservice by your flip remark.

As a Catholic in Brooklyn the worst part of this Catholics-voting-for-Obama thing is that I find myself increasingly looking around at my fellow worshippers at Mass and thinking “who are you people?”

And sometimes I wonder if I'm practicing the wrong religion because of it.

Today’s IBD poll worse for McCain than yesterday. According to their results, the majority of Catholics will vote for Obama. Let’s get some kind of reality check into this Sunday’s mass! The guy is no better than an abortionist.

It depends on WHERE the Catholics are polled. In the Midwest, Catholics are strongly pro-life, and will probably vote McCain en masse. But here in New England (CT), many priests turned against Bush because of the Iraq war, and we hear many more sermons about "peace" and giving to the poor (Obama's redistribution of wealth a.k.a. socialism is viewed positively here!) than protecting babies, and the Archbishop of Hartford actually gave money to ACORN!

Remember, John Kerry and Nancy Pelosi claim to be Catholic, and justify themselves based on taxing the rich and giving to the poor, and a million babies a year killed in the womb don't matter. And rich white Catholics on the left feel good about their wonderful charity, and keep voting for these phony Catholics, and never watch EWTN and discover REAL Catholicism.

But the Catholics voting for Obama probably live in hopelessly blue states, which won't matter in the Electoral College. This weekend, this Catholic Connecticut Yankee will be manning the phones for McCain...in PA.

I like Dennis Pragar's phrase "Un-American" I know now why John Howard used the term "Un-Australian" when he was Prime Minister.

But do American values = Australian values?

If this thing is even close, there will be a reprise of Kenya. Don’t forget Obama visited Kenya and the next time there was an election there and Obama’s cousin Odinga lost, there was a rampage throughout and the once proud democracy was brought down to its knees. Do you think it won’t happen in the US? Wait and see.

You can’t compare Kenya to the USA. For one thing it wasn’t racial and here it will be pushed as that. If it comes down to white vs black you have to remember that there are way more non-blacks and even if you are a guilty white on the side of the blacks how would all blacks know that? It brings to mind the old saying about a conservative being a liberal that got mugged. It’s not going to take very many dead black sympathizers to make the others realize they really are not very safe as a white amongst blacks during race wars. With that said I really don’t think there are that many blacks or whites willing to die for the cause and that is exactly what we are talking about. Even if all of the democrats and liberals decided to band together and fight the conservatives it wouldn’t matter because for the most part the conservatives have not only the guns but the training, more conservatives are former military or cops, as well as the intestinal fortitude to see it to the end. No, the only hope for a black uprising would be to have the military on their side and that just isn’t going to happen.

If McCain wins, it will be "the white man suppressing the black man" scenario, repeated over and over, to the point that it will drive people to violence.
Too bad they (the dems) can't step back and see, Obama is nothing more then a man with quaint speech habits that make him likable.

Pragar's book "Think a Second Time" is a great book. The chapter on hypocrisy alone is worth the book (and it's not what you think).
He always makes the case that you can make a moral decision, and it is as academic and more meaningful then an "objective" decision.

You said riots, not the win. The riots will be attempts at intimidation through violence, as they always are. They will, of course, be portrayed by the media as the results of pushing people beyond normal endurable limits.

JiangxiDad on October 29, 2008 at 9:02 AM

I'm betting there will not be riots by blacks if Mccain wins. I live and work in a majority black area and I would say there is just a lot of hope but sort of a feeling it is to good to be true.
They really half expect it and who exactly are they going to riot against anyway? They will handle it ok for the most part. It is white libs I worry about.
He would have never got through the primarys without the white vote. It's more likely Olberman and MSNBC will be calling and prodding on a riot but they don;t have the guts to actually do it.

However if it comes down to a florida 2000 situation all bets are off.

He would have never got through the primarys without the white vote. It’s more likely Olberman and MSNBC will be calling and prodding on a riot but they don;t have the guts to actually do it.

However if it comes down to a florida 2000 situation all bets are off.

They will, of course, be portrayed by the media as the results of pushing people beyond normal endurable limits.

It will not matter how the media portrays it because I think the media is dead as we know it today no matter who wins. They have done everything they could to get BO elected and they know that the people of this country know it. They think that their one great hope is BO but BO will not be as kind as they think. I know I wouldn’t be and I’m not half the ruthless a-hole BO is. If BO doesn’t make it then the media is dead because they will never be trusted again. I already know people using the Internet to read the US news from other countries because they feel our media lies to much.

So if McCain wins, do we chalk the riots up to the “Bradley Effect,” racism, or American voters coming to their senses?

If McCain wins and I surly hope that is the case, I’m not sure we will see the predicted riots or at least not at the large scale that people fear. I do think that there will be some in the big cities but they will be more of a gang driven thing more akin to the East LA King riots. People are not stupid and to riot over your guy not winning would be very stupid and most likely set back race relations years. If there are large scale riots then I do expect that we may very well end up with a more oppressive society as we try to regain control. On the up side it could mean an end to political correctness and a regaining of academia as we strive to prevent it from happening in the future.

You said riots, not the win. The riots will be attempts at intimidation through violence, as they always are. They will, of course, be portrayed by the media as the results of pushing people beyond normal endurable limits.

You wouldn’t think this from the polls, but just the opposite is happening. Many people are flocking AWAY from Obama because they have begun to realize he’s an empty suit.

Just had a thought. Maybe the Catholic vote is influenced by gender. Aren't many more woman practicing Catholics than men?

I really get this stinking feeling that people really do think he is the messiah and that is why so many are flocking to his embrace. - jmarcure on October 29, 2008 at 8:24 AM
