Talk the Vote: John Hinderaker
posted at 8:35 am on October 29, 2008 by Ed Morrissey
Most of my Northern Alliance colleagues made it to last night’s Talk the Vote event, sponsored by AM 1280 The Patriot, but I only had an opportunity to interview my friend John Hinderaker of Power Line. This didn’t fit thematically into the previous two posts, so I’ll post it separately.
John sounded optimistic about Norm Coleman and Michele Bachmann winning their re-election bids, but sees a tough race for John McCain in Minnesota:
Note the huge crowd at Orchestra Hall last night behind John, filling not just the main area but the balcony seating all around us.

Blowback

Manly, I do hope you’re right and not just optimistic. How can you stay so positive?!
Don’t tell me, let me guess…you’ve a time machine and you went forward in time to see the results, right?
:)

If I had a time machine do you honestly think I’d go FORWARD? As it is, I do not have a time machine.
I’m not psychic and God did not speak to me. I just know that McCain will win. That’s all there is to it.

Baby, I hope you’re right!
/liked the time machine, though…

You could be right, though we always seem to disappoint.
I have been hearing whispers from the north country that Mac is pulling strong support, and he owns the west out here in Bachman country. Is it enough to overcome the Twin Cities DFL diehards, I don’t know.
Anecdotally, as I travel through the outer-ring metro burbs, there is nary an Obummer sign to be seen.

Minnesota, I will forgive you for Jesse Ventura if you keep Coleman and Bachmann. You will become my favorite northern state if you come through for McCain/Palin.

Sugarland, I posted about last night’s event. What a night!!! I’m seeing signs that Coleman has moved ahead of Franken & Bachmann has will do so by the end of the week. I’m predicting Michele winning by 2-3 points & Norm winning by 5-6.
