Scarborough to Obama supporter: Name one accomplishment

posted at 4:05 pm on October 29, 2008 by Allahpundit

There was no good answer when Hannity asked this question months ago and there’s no good answer now.

There is an answer, though: He’s brought the country together, the professor assures us. How? Presumably by the fact that he’s reached 50 percent in the polls. Which would be one percentage point less than, er, Bush got in 2004.

Fair warning: You can’t really enjoy this clip until you’ve watched the ones at Jawa Report first. Click the image to watch.

Again ole Joe trying to win back some audience lost while he has been in the tank. Sorry Joe. Too little too late.

This topic is so timely it should be on the History Channel.

MSM is the cancer. Living with cancer means treating it, shrinking it or cutting it out entirely. I think we have exhausted the possibility of treating the MSM – it cannot be reformed (whining is no use). The MSM is shrinking of its own accord. Still I prefer to treat the cancer of MSM by promoting the growth of healthy tissue (alternative media) and cutting out the MSM entirely from my life.

This is the most smoke and mirrors campaign I have ever seen. Obama is nothing, and I do mean nothing, he says he is. What a scam Obama, with the help of the national press, has pulled.

Biden told several outright lies during the VP debate and there was barely a whisper about his misrepresentation of the facts. McCain has been seriously lacking when it comes to calling out the democratic ticket on its wholesale fakery and phoniness.

titus_pullo on October 29, 2008 at 4:14 PM

SCARBOROUGH: Not a specific, I can’t get a specific. I love your hair. I can’t get a specific out of him.

SACHS: The specific is that he’s defined a way to achieve energy and new approaches for this country.

SCARBOROUGH: Where do I find that in the Congressional Record?

Ouch.

A bit later, Joe traced the way Obama’s career has been all about . . . Obama’s career.

SCARBOROUGH: The thing is, I wonder if between now and election day, people won’t wake up in the middle of the night, as I do occasionally, when I think, oh, Obama might win, it won’t be the end of the world. I wonder if people are going to wake up and say what’s he done other than run for president from the day he graduated from Harvard Law School?

He became a community organizer because he knew that would help him become a state legislator; it would give him street cred in Chicago. The second he became a state legislator everybody said he was ready to run for Congress. When he failed at Congress everybody said—I’m talking about his Democratic allies. What has this guy done other than running for president from the day he left law school?

Nothing.

How is he supposed to call it out? The media won’t cover it when he does. They are more interested in Sarah Palin’s wardrobe and her tanning bed. The McCain campaign and the RNC put out pages of documents and held conference calls to point out Biden’s lies in that debate. None of it got into print or in any TV newscasts other than Hannity and Greta on Fox.

I love the clip of Michelle saying he hasn’t done anything yet.

It’s really short, too. You could stick it in between all the other clips:

1: Voiceover and text: What has Barack Obama done?

2: Clip of Barack Obama saying he won’t run in 2008, not ready yet.

3: Clip of Michelle: “It’s way too soon. He hasn’t done anything yet.”

4: Clip of someone trying ineffectively to defend his accomplishments.

5: Clip of Michelle: “It’s way too soon. He hasn’t done anything yet.”

Repeat 4 & 5 until the end of the ad.

NO final voiceover or text, just let Michelle have the last word.

You-tube gold!

That is probably the best point made here so far. Obama’s record is so lacking in anything but fluff that they can’t even come up with ONE thing. He has lived in the limelight for 2 years. With all of the message control and identical talking points from every single spokesman, a complicit national media, they cannot fill the biggest void in Obama’s background. Thats scary.

Got this in an e-mail today:

Should the U.S. pull out of Chicago and the State of
Illinois?

Chicago Combat Zone Body Count: In the last six months, 292 killed(murdered) in Chicago compared to 221 killed in Iraq.

Government Leadership: U.S. Senators. Barack Obama & Dick Durbin, U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., Illinois Gov. Rod Blogojevich, Illinois House leader Mike Madigan, Illinois Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike), Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley (son of Mayor Richard J. Daley) –
all Democrats.

Status of State pension Fund: $44 Billion in debt — worst in country.

Cook County (Chicago) Sales Tax: 10.25% highest in country.

Chicago School System: Rated one of the worst in the country.

Assignment of Responsibility for the Situation: They’re all blaming George Bush. Can’t blame Republicans in Illinois — there aren’t any!

Bottom Line: This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois. And, he’s gonna ‘fix’ Washington politics for us.

Agreed — and it’s even worse than that.

When McCain does call him out on lies, the Media usually does a blitz of “Liar McCain!” and “McCain goes Negative!” process stories.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, McCain is running an absolutely brilliant campaign. He’s being outspent 3-1, the media is more partisan than ever, the financial crisis has swept his strengths (foreign policy and the war) completely off the table — any lesser candidate (including every single candidate McCain faced in the primary) would be losing this race in a Reagan-Dukakis style landslide.

Thank God we’ve got McCain as our candidate. (And that’s something I thought I’d never write — he was my third or fourth choice in the primaries.)

McCain, firing on all cylinders today, notes BHO’s accomplishment.

He cites as his most courageous moment in public life a speech he gave in 2002 — against a war resolution on which he had no vote, on a matter of national security for which he bore no responsibility. He hopes you will forget the votes he cast when he actually did have responsibility … his votes to prevent the strategy that is leading to victory, and to deny funding for the troops who are gaining that victory,” McCain said. “And now he hopes that in the cloud of crisis at home you will forget the stakes in Iraq — the disaster and tragedy that would follow if American forces leave in retreat.”

Their are so many!

The L.A. times thing has been around since May or June. These tapes have been around for months and they show Obama to be a hater of this country and a quasi, if not outright, socialist. Everyone of his old friends he networked with is anti-american in the most stereotypical ways. These are all legit avenues of attack yet we only get them in the late stages of this race.

titus_pullo on October 29, 2008 at 4:59 PM

The “sour-grapes” stuff is from the leftist blogs. It is filled with those talking points; sour-grapes, desperation, sinking ship, etc.
The fact is, the swing and the “not so sure of Obama” votes want and need this information.
If it was brought out too early, then Obama would have had time to build his talking points. This way, like Joe the Plumber, he has to either tell the truth, or come up with something fast and hope it is the right lie.

right2bright on October 29, 2008 at 5:06 PM

Obama’s main accomplishments so far:

1. He has spread Chicago-style voter registration fraud across the entire country.

2. He is running the biggest credit card fraud operation in the country.

3. He is responsible for the biggest contribution fraud operation ever, including nationwide contribution limit fraud, international foreign contribution fraud, and corporate contribution fraud!!

4. He has spread Chicago-style thuggery across the nation to stifle anyone who would dare ask him a substantive question, leak his actual citizenship documentation, scholastic history, work history, medical history, or challenge any of his radical ideas. He attacks and intimidates family, friends, employers, and customers of anyone who questions him.

This explains Obama’s visit to Germany: his campaign is modeled after Hitler’s rise to power.

I totally agree. During Gov. Palin’s debate with lying Joe, there were so many times when I was just screaming at her to respond to some of his deceitful comments. McCain’s staff should have prepared her much better. He got away with the lie about Barack not saying that he would unconditionally meet with the leaders of Iran and North Korea. So how are those inner city people doing these days? Did he markedly improve their lives? Is the crime rate down in that neighborhood? Did he bring in jobs? Are the illiteracy rates down? Are fewer children born out of wedlock? Everyone agrees that he can give a good speech. Now what has he actually done?

He didn’t respond to that point. He’s a good guy and so we’re having a friendly conservation and all, but really … WTF??? is all I can say at this point.

I’m hoping that Sen. McCain has a large staff reading Hot Air, Free Republic, Michelle, etc. full time. By some of the blunders he’s made in the past month or so, I’m not so sure.

RedinPDRM on October 29, 2008 at 5:25 PM

Accomplishment – He is the One = Fail.

I can’t wait to hear what the answer is in 4 years.

Bet it’ll be freakin’ HILARIOUS.

Jokes on us.

This explains Obama’s visit to Germany: his campaign is modeled after Hitler’s rise to power.

landlines on October 29, 2008 at 5:09 PM

Obama said that this management of his campaign was his major executive experience to be President. Shouldn’t most of those points be a major McCain commercial to close the deal now that the $600 million man is in a statistical dead heat?

econavenger on October 29, 2008 at 5:47 PM

Fair warning: You can’t really enjoy this clip until you’ve watched the ones at Jawa Report first.

Why aren’t those three in a McCain ad? Esp. #2?

The fact that I actually remember that game makes me feel very old and nerdish again.

Lincoln on October 29, 2008 at 5:14 PM

Say that like you’re proud of it :) I can’t sympathize much on the old part but there’s nothing wrong with nerdish :D

Thanks for the explanation guys, I was away from my desk for an hour and would have hated to come back and find myself dead ;)

When I was in the military I was required to get a top secret security clearance for my job (which isn’t even near the highest clearance). They went to my hometown and spent 2-3 weeks talking to neighbors, teachers, friends, girlfriends, etc…at a considerable cost to taxpayers.

If Obama were to join the military and have to go through similar vetting there would be no way he would be eligible for top secret clearance based on past associations. I had a buddy who was denied clearance just because he had associated with some kids who were in a gang (motorcycle)

And president has highest security clearance?

Insane!

Ditkaca on October 29, 2008 at 6:10 PM

If it was brought out too early, then Obama would have had time to build his talking points. This way, like Joe the Plumber, he has to either tell the truth, or come up with something fast and hope it is the right lie.

right2bright on October 29, 2008 at 5:06 PM

Every good campaign has an arc to it. The McCain should have been slowly, in a drip drip fashion, building its case. At the same time not overwhelming the public with too much info. Provide just enough info top wet the palate in addition to creating a persona for McCain. They did the persona part ok but the slow tearing down of Obama never really happened.

At this point we should be be at the crescendo of that arc for deconstructing Obama. My point is that, from the start to mid-campaign through to the end, we never got a concerted build-up to that final argument. Now it seems that they are trying to cram all that info in at the last minute

titus_pullo on October 29, 2008 at 6:15 PM

Duhbama is unqualified to be President of the PTA.

fogw on October 29, 2008 at 5:16 PM

He’s not even qualified to get a security clearance.

The Clintons said he was “unelectable” for a reason.

Unfortunately, our media started channeling Josef Goebbels.

No let up! Focus! VOTE!

Let’s roll!

MANAGEMENT OF HIS FRAUDULENT CAMPAIGN

Obama’s only accomplishment to date is in being a FRAUD, representing FRAUDS who wish to defraud our nation into a communist dictatorship.

Claiming to unify, that only applies to Progressives. Obama himself has NOT done the unification, but merely been the figure head for the Progressive movement. They chose him and groomed him with the proper mask and hidden school transcripts and birth documents. He did not groom himself, but allowed others to elevate him beyond his abilities. Obama’s even a fraud according to Marx, “according to their abilities.”

As per the nation, Obama is DIVISIVE!!! He ridicules with pejorative labels any who disagree, and has his club use the government to harass and violate the civil rights of citizens. He represents the worst domestic terrorists and is best friends forever with the worst Palestinian terrorist clan, and is endorsed by Islamofascists (Ahmedinejad, Gadaffi, et. al.) and Der Spiegel Nazi forum editors. THEY CLAMOR FOR OBAMA, AND OBAMA REVELS IN THEIR ADORATION.

Obama aligned himself and his talents with ACORN in order to destroy the American economy and the legitimacy of American elections FOR THE LOVE OF MARX and disdain for our Constitution.

Obamanada:

NO POSITIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
FRAUD!

Too effing funny. First the bad toupe. Then the extra credit train wreck.

This is a Harvard educated economist. No wonder everyone laughs at economists – he thinks Obama has “brought the country together” on a “way out of this mess”.

Does anyone have the slightest idea wtf this clown is talking about? Does he?

Jaibones on October 29, 2008 at 6:47 PM

The done nothing candidate from the do nothing congress. Perfect.

Brought the country together? Oh yeah, I can feel the love. You betcha.

Terrye on October 29, 2008 at 7:16 PM

Well, then Nobama is a failure cause my daughter is drinking the koolaid, and I have tried to help her come back to the light. To say the least, we are not “on the same page”, therefore, have not felt the warm fuzzies for each other as of late. I guess I could do my part and just take a sip of the delicious looking drink in the large bucket……

I don’t understand why this isn’t in a campaign ad. He is a failure as a senator. He didn’t bring anyone “together” to fix anything. If he couldn’t do it as a senator then why should we expect him to be able to do it as President?
