I gather you think Palin is some sort of closet feminist, but I’m really not clear from your posts what policy positions she’s taken that worry you.

To what aspects of feminism do you object?
Palin (and McCain) support equal pay for equal work
Palin supports Title IX
Neither of these are taboo positions in the Republican party.

What are the other “feminist agenda” items that concern you?

It’s absurd to question the qualifications of the VP candidates without asking about the heads of the respective tickets.

Probably what he was referring to was the endorsement and introduction by the predident of the L.A. chapter of NOW.
There is a whispering campaign of support of Palin by the NOW group. Being vocal and supporting a Republican in public is not a good thing if you are an avowed “feminist”. Just ask Tammy Bruce.

Most people, not from So.Cal misses the point of where Carson is, and the demographics…hardly a more democrat inclined location.
I envy you, it must have been awesome.
And for those who think she should have been in Ohio or elsewhere, this woman carries a lot of weight, authority, respect in the feminists community. Basically anyone who attacks Palin as not being a feminist has to go up against the feminists of all feminists, this is a national event held locally…just a few miles from Hollywood, where this leader is royalty.

Correction: It wasn’t NOW but rather the President of NOW’s LA Chapter giving her personal endorsement.

Its clearly not a “wild assertion” as it was linked on HotAir two weeks ago to mass acclaim by HA commenters. I can’t find that particular link because the HA search function is useless.

Feminism to the Dems is ALL about abortion.

Yes but the flipside of that is Republicans whose only opposition to feminism is anti-abortionism. Sarah Palin, who is a member of Feminists For Life, and her supporters (i.e. all mainstream conservatives) affirm every radical egalitarian feminist principle bar support for abortion.

Thats why Sarah Palin was the recipient of NOW’s endorsement. Abortion as a court-ordained right is unlikely to be overturned soon. In the meantime a useful idiot potential Republican VP who supports every feminist position aside from abortion is nothing to shake a stick at from a leftist perspective.
