8 p.m. ET on CBS, NBC, Fox(!), Univision, etc etc. ABC and all three cable news nets are scheduled to be Hopenchange-free, but don’t be surprised if Olby points the camera at a monitor airing the commercial and just lets it roll until 8:30. That’s pretty much all “Countdown” is anyway.
Here’s a sneak preview, in which we find The One using his “empathy” voice — quite distinct from this one — and the awkward directionless hand gestures to which we’ve become accustomed during these closing arguments. Snark away below. If you’re depressed at the sight of him momentarily taking over the airwaves, this might cheer you up.
While we wait, anyone have any song ideas for Joe Wurzelbacher? A country/western cover of “Taxman” is obligatory. What about originals? “Your Cheatin’ Clogged the Drainpipe to My Heart”?

I’ll be reading “The Puritans” by Jack Cavanaugh. It’s the first in 8-10 fiction books he wrote.
So far I learned about the Star Chamber during that time. I did not realize exactly how far that went back. I’ll be ready in case there is an Obama administration.

My cousin called me yesterday, He immigrated here from South America 9 years ago. He went to college, became an engineer, got his masters in structural engineering and the reason for the call yesterday? He just bought a house (650k with a down payment of 20%)! Only in America! The only help he got was from us his family. We gave him a place to live when he first got here and a job since he was here initially on a student visa. I listened, the husband watched. He’s far more objective and he thought that the entire first half was so boring that most undecided voters would have turned it off by the time it got to the live portion.
There wasn’t anything new, nothing substantial, just the same old same old in a slick new package.
In his opinion, a waste of money.

It’s already happened in real life. Uh, the Obamercial was really sappy. And it was sort of self-indulgent, it was all about him. Not a lot about what he would do for the country. And he just restated everything he has said on the stump and in the debates. I tuned to Chris and Keith after to see their reaction and just as I assumed it was a circle-jerk of Obama love. I turned the channel before it got really messy.

Obamas numbers might go down now because I think half the audience has slashed their wrists. I am still shaking it off and I only watched it for a few minutes. Evil, depressing, and very negative vibes.

I think Obama is intentionally putting all the antichrist stuff in his ads to get people that hate Christians to vote for him. His text # is 62262, his phone number has 666 in it, the famous Chuck Swindoll “World’s Final Dictator” recorded in 1976 talks about an attractive orator who is compared to Lincoln, Kennedy, and Superman. He just plays into it so all the looneys who follow that kind of stuff will vote for him. Like tonight at the very beginning of his infomercial, half his face was in darkness, the other half was in light. He began his campaign in Springfield, Lincoln’s hometown. Exactly. All a thirty-minute spot like that does is maybe gets people to tune in for the first five minute or so…get bored…and then they go to the bathroom to take an Obama and do other things. Or they get torqued off because it’s preempting the start of the World Series. This could well be Obama’s “Heidi” moment.
Short, to the point spots, that point out the very real differences between McCain and Obama loaded with real patriotism and emphasizing America’s “can-do” spirit is the way to go.
