Open thread: Transmission from Mt. Olympus, or whatever else you’re watching

8 p.m. ET on CBS, NBC, Fox(!), Univision, etc etc. ABC and all three cable news nets are scheduled to be Hopenchange-free, but don’t be surprised if Olby points the camera at a monitor airing the commercial and just lets it roll until 8:30. That’s pretty much all “Countdown” is anyway.
Here’s a sneak preview, in which we find The One using his “empathy” voice — quite distinct from this one — and the awkward directionless hand gestures to which we’ve become accustomed during these closing arguments. Snark away below. If you’re depressed at the sight of him momentarily taking over the airwaves, this might cheer you up.
While we wait, anyone have any song ideas for Joe Wurzelbacher? A country/western cover of “Taxman” is obligatory. What about originals? “Your Cheatin’ Clogged the Drainpipe to My Heart”?

I still think about 10 percent of Obama supporters already think he is the President and thus won’t show up on Election Day.
War69DotCom on October 29, 2008 at 8:05 PM
that’s it that’s all I could watch
elraphbo on October 29, 2008 at 8:06 PM
What I have noticed is that it is mostly, almost exclusively, the MSM that, with their pseudo polls with skewing and slanting, have been suggesting that Barack Obama might win.
However, much to the contrary, and given that of the 12% Blacks in America — an estimated less than 5% will vote for Obama (less than 14 million Black adult voters in a country of more than 305 million!) — McCain has a better than most chance to win big time on next Tuesday.
Over the last several months, we have learned that Obama is a radical, repugnant, and incessant liar. Obama is a thug much like the many, many “friends” and “mentors” he hangs with — Rezko, Farrakhan, Rev. Wright, Khalidi, communist Frank Marshall David and others. Now we learn that Obama is definitively a socialist and extremist leftist. Obama gets upset when TV hosts point this out — why? — because it’s the truth. Barack Hussein Obama is a loser.
The tens of millions, and more, voters that have learned the ugly truths about Barack Obama are NOT going to vote for him. They will defeat Obama.
Obamalies or Lies Obama Tells:
http://www.nextgenerationcorp.com/NextGenBlog/?p=73
The best hope we have for our economy, our military, our health, and our freedom is to vote for John McCain — honorable, with integrity, and a true patriot.
God Bless America.

Interesting…. none of my local channels are showing it. My DirecTV menu guide for the local FOX affiliate says “Barack Obama Political Message” . . . but “The Simpsons” are on.

Dear gawd…this infomercial is already worse than I thought…
JetBoy on October 29, 2008 at 8:06 PM
Olby is going to cry after this and look into the camera and say, “Now if you don’t vote for this man, you don’t deserve to live here.” Then he will get up and walk away.
War69DotCom on October 29, 2008 at 8:07 PM
Is anyone actually watching Senator Government right now?
RightWinged on October 29, 2008 at 8:07 PM
The Undertaker Sibelius talking, on second thought Obama should have picked her for VP, she is already dead, he wouldn’t have to hide her like the clown Biden.
War69DotCom on October 29, 2008 at 8:08 PM
So did I. But I refuse to pay for cable/satellite. I should pay someone to pipe drivel into my home? I was going to watch it before the game. Poor me.

I hear that Obama’s Aunt Oboyongo or whatever her name is will be shown live from the slums of Boston, check Drudge if you don’t know what I’m talking about.
I thought his grandmother from Hawaii was the only one left.

fogw on October 29, 2008 at 8:09 PM
Same here, I was just curious if anyone else could stomach it. I’d probably wind up destroying my TV if I had to watch a few seconds of it.
RightWinged on October 29, 2008 at 8:09 PM
I’m watching it, its sob stories so far, about how people have trouble paying for bills

Has he demonstrated the pocket fisherman yet?
Mark1971 on October 29, 2008 at 8:09 PM
Nope. Just finished doing some writing and am now kicking back a bit until the World Series comes on. Not going to give that lying you know what a moment of my time.

O’rielly says Rassmussen will report tomorrow that for the first time more people trust McCain on the economy than Obama!
GREAT NEWS!

My hope is that it has a John Kerry affect on the undecided voters. By that I mean they get bored and restless hearing him go on and on and on and just say no.

I plan to distribute it as widely as possible.

I am not watching – I refuse to. I trust there will be an article detailing what happened if anything “important” happens.
HawaiiLwyr on October 29, 2008 at 8:10 PM
Please America, don’t let this tool buy the election, if God has a sense of humor Obama will go down in flames and Olbermann will have a nervous breakdown Tuesday, refusing to read that Obama has lost.
War69DotCom on October 29, 2008 at 8:11 PM
Do you need a black and white set to watch it?

There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. I am controlling transmission. If I wish to make it louder, I will bring up the volume. If I wish to make it softer, I will tune it to a whisper. I will control the horizontal. I will control the vertical. I can roll the image, make it flutter. I can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next half hour, sit quietly and I will control all that you see and hear. I repeat, there is nothing wrong with your television set. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to… The Obama Olympus.

I watched about 3 minutes of it. I felt like I was watching a UNICEF commercial on sunday morning. He depresssed the living hell out of me. Why doesnt he show his radical buddies chanting all the crap he’s been part of in his history? Nope. Not falling for this “feed the children” style commercial. He is representing us like a third worls country and thats the atmosphere I got from the show and I had to turn it off immediately. Its not the America I know. Its the America he’s living nd wants us to live with him and I am not going for it.
johnnyU on October 29, 2008 at 8:12 PM
There is one silver lining, will provide a good day of backlash and mocking among the talk radio crowd. Glenn Beck and Laura Ingraham should be a funny listen tomorrow.
War69DotCom on October 29, 2008 at 8:12 PM
Nope. Watching O’Reilly here.
Besides, if Dear Leader Obama wins next week, he’ll be the only thing on every channel this time next year. :)

I heard that McCain was going to run and ad before and after. Can anyone confirm that a McCain ad ran before this started?

“I’m Barrack Obama and I approve this ad.”

I’m more interested in seeing what Hannity has to say ABOUT the infomercial, than I am to see it. Hell, every time they have him (Bambam)even speak on tv I have to change the station. I can’t imagine spending 30 solid minutes of him droning on and on and on and on…
pcbedamned on October 29, 2008 at 8:13 PM
The funny thing is this doesn’t look real, the crowd looks like actors, I know they are not actors, at least I think they are not actors but the way it is directed, it looks phony.

I couldn’t believe that was true. He and his wife are multi- millionaires yet they leave their own relatives destitute. The article says she came here 8 years ago from Kenya. How did she already get into public housing and on the public dole?

I’m not watching Senator Government’s infomercial. The last good infomercial pitch man was Mike Rowe. (If O! ever achieves that level of oratory and good looks, maybe I’ll watch him.)
However, I did just get treated to the O!’s tax plan ad — the one with the supposed plug from the Heritage Foundation. I thought I read they had requested he cease and desist. What gives?
Y-not on October 29, 2008 at 8:17 PM
I agree. The games are starting too late as it is. It’s impossible to watch them and get up in the morning. Guess baseball doesn’t think it’s important for kids to watch the world series. Obama’s a Philrays fan, right?

I couldn’t believe it either, amazing all of the little audio and video snippets breaking in the last week.
Anybody see the Drudge linked Youtube video of Obama showing up late to Congressional meetings, that Youtube user seems to have a bunch of archived stuff on Obama.
I will never trust the media again, what a fool I was to think they were somewhat professional. 2008 opened my eyes forever.

Beats me. My daughter in law came here from Burma a few years ago and hasn’t managed it yet. I think it’s due to the fact that she found a job right off and has been gainfully employed in ever better jobs all along. I’ve been trying to convince her to give all that sweat equity up and lay back and sponge off those stupid productive people but she just won’t do it.
