Campbell Brown: Just a reminder that Obama lied about accepting public funding

I was going to exile this to Headlines but CNN’s done its good journalistic deed for the day by rejecting Team Barry’s half-hour of propaganda power, so let’s give it a little extra play. It’s only because The One is, in fact, a liar and a hypocrite on this point (as duly noted by honest Democrat Bob Kerrey) that he can afford tonight’s extravaganza, a fact not lost on Brown, to her credit.
Have you noticed, by the way, that these commentary segments are now a recurring feature of her show? It’s no accident. With O’Reilly and Hannity killing CNN on the right and now Olby and Maddow beating them on the left, straight news reporting during primetime is as dead as, well, public finance is.

When did CNN doing straight news reporting?
Did I miss the memo?

Would it be wrong to say I am liking Campbell Brown more and more, at the moment?
Ok no rioting, pillaging, tar and feathering me to much. I just agree with her on this and the Sarah Palin clothes bias.

Twas the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
Had cut off the TV
Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden
There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window

Weird. I take it though. Wonder if the Obama camp is going to trash Campbell now like West and the reporters in Philly? Wonder if they will now slam CNN like they have Fox and say CNN is allied with Drudge and the McCain camp? Hmmm?

She partly blames the Economy for supressing the Republican 527 attack ads (because of which, Obama had to break his word). Eh, just a CYA move by CNN to look objective. Too little, too late. HACKS.

Romeo13 on October 29, 2008 at 12:43 PM
CNN is trying, much too little, much too late, to position itself as a “centrist” alternative to the perceived “right” of Fox and the dead-on accurate hard left of PMSNBC. Campbell Brown is merely the vehicle of the moment for building that posing, just as John Stossel (legitimately so) and Jake Tapper (quasi-legit) are ABC’s vehicles for positioning itself as the “centrist” voice of the Big Three, compared to the hard-left of CBS and NBC.
Stossel is an O’Reilly without the bloviations. When will Fox News bring him on board? And when will Fox offer a national newscast to its broadcast channels? I would bet that a half-hour nightly Fox newscast on its broadcast outlets would rocket to the top in short order.
either orr on October 29, 2008 at 12:44 PM
Yes, CNN decided not to run the half-hour infomercial.
But CNN is giving Osama Obama three hours with Wolf “Softball” Blitzer.
I think their in-the-tankage is amply demonstrated, Campbell Brown or not.

But what do they accomplish at HA?
JiangxiDad on October 29, 2008 at 12:49 PM
CNN rejected the ad because it was probably a better business decision. Viewers will be looking desperately for something else to watch than the Comrade Barry Adoration Special.

Jeez. Talk about trying to close the barn door after the horse is out! Where the hell was CNN when Obama broke the promise in the first place? How about showing some of the lavish expenditures all this cash has bought, like the O Force One plane, the $5 million Greek temple, the Hawaii vacation in August, the 800k to ACORN, the $1 million a month in catering for his campaign HQ? How about asking whether a candidate this profligate in his campaign can be a decent steward of the nation’s Treasury if he is elected?
rockmom on October 29, 2008 at 12:53 PM
Don’t call Bob Kerrey honest. He’s already laid the groundwork to transform his hypocrisy into “change” or “growth”. Of course, that’s probably as honest as any Democrat could ever be. If that’s OK with you, AP, fine. It’s not OK with me. He’d have been better off keeping this to himself. He has added nothing to the debate.

It’s the discouragement campaign. Someone posted a big letter from an Obama insider about how they had people who did nothing all day but go on blogs, YouTube, and discussion forums and blast people with doom and gloom. Their goal was to make people feel so oppressed, so depressed, so assured that Obama’s win was inevitable that they would just give up.
Dave’s not likely one of these, as he was around long before this stuff started, but it’s likely to blame for some of the newer ones – Barry Norris comes to mind, off the top of my head, and I know there are others.

It’s more beneficial, revenue wise, for a left-leaning netowrk to have a Republican president for the next foru years.

Remember when CNN had to admit that it purposely did not report on the atrocities that Sadam Hussein was committing on his own population via the rape rooms, horrific torture, and mass graves…………… only because they didn’t want to loose their right to broadcast out of Iraq?
So what’s this all about?
If they wanted to do a story on finance, where is the reporting on the true cause of the economic crisis, what caused it (CRA), and name the names of the Democratic politicians who made it the ponzi scheme it became, and covered it up?
On that note…………. Where is the reporting from CNN that despite the Trillion dollar bail out bill we will all have to payback, all of the laws, regulations, and flawed institutions that caused the failure ARE STILL IN PLACE?
This is only a story because they are reporting the truth….. After being a propaganda arm for the left for so long, reporting the truth is actually “news”.
…………… think about that in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Seven Percent Solution on October 29, 2008 at 1:07 PM
Actualy, I think this “REAL reporting” stems from how Obama has treated the media lately.
He has not been giving Press conferences, just interviews to softball favorites.
And his campaign blacklisted (RACCCCIISSTTTT) two TV stations who asked Biden tough questions.
Obama done pi$$ed off his psysho Girlfriend (the MSM), and now its payback time…
Sadly though, it may be too late for America.

Her contract has probably not been renewed and she’s auditioning for a spot on Fox News.
Brat on October 29, 2008 at 1:13 PM
…frankly, this thing by Campbell isn’t as plucky as all that….
…in the last week of campaigning, with Obama and all his little Obamaites thinking they’ve got it in the bag, CNN lets one of their minions sound off, doin’ that newsroom-thang, like they’ve still got a shred of credibility left…which, of course, they haven’t….
I do like the sign off, though, about his millions and campaign being based on a lie…to be honest, he really hasn’t lied about his intentions…wealth redistribution, skewing judicial selections based on prospective favoritism to key demographics, standing by radical and anti-American friends….
…no…he’s an honest totalitarian. That’s what’s so scary…people see it, and still back him. After all…Hitler would not have succeeded in a vaccuum.
Puritan1648 on October 29, 2008 at 1:13 PM
At :09 the background makes it look like Campbell has a couple of horns. She’s such a cute little devil, I wish I could believe that she is seeing the light of the Obama campaign and is changing her stripes. Still, two semi-pro GOP stories is not enough.
coloradoranchhand on October 29, 2008 at 1:15 PM
Even the media, regardless of damage to society, will fold. to ADAM SMITHS invisible hand. Even Ted Turner can’t change it. Now that’s reality. That’s why being conservative is good.
That is why even if obama wins, I will still be content. I wont be happy, just patient. WE ARE Pandoras box. We are the idea that cant be put away again. Everything else is old. We are still the new idea. Before the USA there was nothing else new. We just have to wait, and fight. Never give up. Whats new or useful about liberalism? Nothing.
I maybe the crazy guy who makes him comments late(or early) from Japan. But my last two years here have convinced me that our founding Fathers ideas were new and their ideas can’t be stopped.
Lets quit being Keynesian, and start looking at the long term picture. And its us.

Objectivity in journalism requires covering stories in a timely manner. This story is so old it is ready for coverage on the history channel.

Terrific, encouraging comment. Arigato gozaimasu!
JiangxiDad on October 29, 2008 at 1:20 PM
What I have noticed is that it is mostly, almost exclusively, the MSM that, with their pseudo polls with skewing and slanting, have been suggesting that Barack Obama might win.
However, much to the contrary, and given that of the 12% Blacks in America — an estimated less than 5% will vote for Obama (less than 14 million Black adult voters in a country of more than 305 million!) — McCain has a better than most chance to win big time on next Tuesday.
Over the last several months, we have learned that Obama is a radical, repugnant, and incessant liar. Obama is a thug much like the many, many “friends” and “mentors” he hangs with — Rezko, Farrakhan, Rev. Wright, Khalidi, communist Frank Marshall David and others. Now we learn that Obama is definitively a socialist and extremist leftist. Obama gets upset when TV hosts point this out — why? — because it’s the truth. Barack Hussein Obama is a loser.
The tens of millions, and more, voters that have learned the ugly truths about Barack Obama are NOT going to vote for him. They will defeat Obama.
The best hope we have for our economy, our military, our health, and our freedom is to vote for John McCain — honorable, with integrity, and a true patriot.
God Bless America.

I’ve already got my grocery list planned… and told my 17 tear old son I want him at home that night (I’ve taught him to fence, and shoot)… and even told my current girlfriend to get her and her kids over to the house if she hears anything weird on the news about riots, or violence.
There are parts of Denver which may erupt if Barry boy is not elected, and one of them is not more than about 7 miles from my house.

Although Rywall lacks common sense and distorts the truth whenever he posts on HA, we should not judge him harshly for his inability to think logically.
