Video: New McCain ad hits Obama on redistribution tape

Double-barreled action here on the meta-argument that The One’s policies, whether foreign or domestic, are simply too risky to gamble on. The Iran ad, curiously, makes no mention of Sarkozy’s comments even though the McCain camp’s e-mail does. The fact that France is worried about Obama going soft on Iranian nukes might be worth flagging for rural undecideds, n’est-ce pas?

Alternately, you could just cut video of Joe the Plumber on the stump for McCain today, agreeing with a questioner who asked whether a vote for Obama isn’t a vote for the death of Israel. Wow.

Whoa. Doesn’t the Bible say something about this?

I think it does. Let’s hope that we’re not the country that starts fulfilling Bible prophecy.

As read over on FR about the current poll numbers…

I don’t have kids, much less grandkids, so, perhaps it’s different when you’re old and retired. However, if any of my grandkids tried that kind of emotional blackmail on me, I’d like to think that I’d tell them that I always love hearing from them, but, they’re not my favorite grandkid anyway so I don’t mind if they visit less.

JadeNYU on October 28, 2008 at 3:12 PM

The Ohio plumber, whose real name is Samuel Wurzelbacher, also agreed with a McCain supporter who asked him if he believed “a vote for Obama is a vote for the death of Israel.”

Boy howdy. You really got him there. His name is SAMUEL JOSEPH WURZELBACHER.

His middle name is Joe. He goes by his middle name. Stop trying to paint him as a liar because he doesn’t go by his first name.

Lying, manipulative sacks of crap.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy is very critical of U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama’s positions on Iran, according to reports that have reached Israel’s government.

Sarkozy has made his criticisms only in closed forums in France. But according to a senior Israeli government source, the reports reaching Israel indicate that Sarkozy views the Democratic candidate’s stance on Iran as “utterly immature” and comprised of “formulations empty of all content.”

right2bright on October 28, 2008 at 3:18 PM

Hey guys, lorien 1973 is correct…these do no good unless they are televised in the swing states. Just putting them on YouTube does no good.

Well, it’s from an anonymous source… and france backs obama something like 58-1…

Not an anonymous source, but the President of France, for whom 54% of French people voted last year.

The French media (which I get by satellite–my wife is French) are overwhelmingly leftist (even worse than our own) and have brainwashed the French people into thinking Bush’s invasion of Iraq was a huge mistake. They want a weak America because THEY look stronger by comparison.

But Sarkozy is tough, and is NOT stupid–he knows that a strong America is a valuable deterrent against Iran, whose missiles might reach Paris!

Steve Z on October 28, 2008 at 3:27 PM

Obama’s Official campaign blogger, Sam Graham-Felsen, a former writer for the leftist Nation magazine and a contributor to the Socialist Viewpoint, is certainly a believer in class warfare.

The capitalist ruling class of the United States exercises a virtual dictatorship not only over American society, but also over the entire world. This capitalist class rule is the basic cause of the poverty, wars and the degradation of the natural environment.

After being expelled from Socialist Action in 1999, we formed Socialist Workers Organization in an attempt to carry on the project of building a nucleus of a revolutionary party true to the historic teachings and program of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Trotsky.

Article 40. Citizens of the USSR have the right to work (that is, to guaranteed employment and pay in accordance wit the quantity and quality of their work, and not below the state-established minimum), including the right to choose their trade or profession, type of job and work in accordance with their inclinations, abilities, training and education, with due account of the needs of society…
Article 41. Citizens of the USSR have the right to rest and leisure…
The length of collective farmers’ working and leisure time is established by their collective farms.
Article 42. Citizens of the USSR have the right to health protection.

Dump on Strickland all you want. But let’s hold up on the “Ohio Judiciary.” The judge in this situation is Edmund A Sargus Jr., a judge serving on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. He’s a Clinton appointee. Sure, he appears to be an Ohioan, but, again, he’s with the federal judiciary rather than the Ohio judiciary.

“Strong countries and strong presidents talk to their adversaries. That’s what Kennedy did with Khrushchev. That’s what Reagan did with Gorbachev. That’s what Nixon did with Mao. I mean think about it. Iran, Cuba, Venezuela – these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don’t pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us. And yet we were willing to talk to the Soviet Union at the time when they were saying we’re going to wipe you off the planet.”

It would have worked better if McCain didn’t keep saying that Obama was fit to be President and that we have nothing to be scared of. Talk about blowing up one’s own campaign. Senatorial courtesy has no place in the high stakes poker of Presidential campaigns especially when one’s opponent is a dyed in the wool socialist.

Dr Evil on October 28, 2008 at 4:07 PM

DaveS on October 28, 2008 at 4:11 PM

We need to find the pod factory because more people are turning up who are not the people Obama thought he knew…..

Ali Abunimah – Ali Abunimah is a Palestinian American and board member of the Chicago-based Arab American Action Network (AAAN).

In 2001 and 2002, the Woods Fund of Chicago, whose board of directors included Barack Obama, made grants totaling $75,000 to Abunimah’s AAAN.

“He was very supportive of U.S. pressure on Israel.” “Barack Obama used to be very comfortable speaking up for and being associated with Palestinian rights and opposing the Israeli occupation.”

In March 2007 Abunimah alleged, with displeasure, that Obama had become more sympathetic to Israel in recent years. Said Abunimah: “If disappointing, given his historically close relations to Palestinian-Americans, Obama’s about-face is not surprising. He is merely doing what he thinks is necessary to get elected and he will continue doing it as long as it keeps him in power.”

Marilyn Katz – An aide to then-Chicago mayor Harold Washington from 1983-87, Marilyn Katz is currently a public relations professional who serves on Barack Obama’s national finance committee. In 2005, Katz and the longtime Marxist and Obama supporter Carl Davidson co-authored the book Stopping War, Seeking Justice.

Katz has long been acquainted with Obama supporter and former Weatherman terrorist Bill Ayers. In April 2008 Katz told the Chicago Sun-Times that she had first met Ayers when he was a 17-year-old fellow member of Students for a Democratic Society, “a peaceful group from which the Weather Underground splintered.”

Dorothy Tillman – From 1984 to 2006, Democrat Dorothy Tillman was an alderman (City Council member) in Chicago’s largely black Third Ward. Well known for her revealed record of municipal corruption, her uncompromising views on race, and her professed anti-Americanism, she is a longtime friend of Barack Obama.

During her time in elected politics, Tillman became the leading — and arguably most acerbic — proponent of reparations for slavery. Claiming that America remains “one of the cruelest nations in the world when it comes to black folks,” Tillman continues to declare that the U.S. “owes blacks a debt.”

In 2004 Tillman was among the politicians whose backing of Obama’s U.S. Senate run helped the latter win the vote in Chicago’s predominantly black wards. In 2005 Tillman was an honored guest at a lecture by Louis Farrakhan, whom she praised as a patron of the community.

And the cast of characters goes on and on and on….
