Chuck Norris re-enters the electoral fray with a commercial for the National Rifle Association. It’s titled “An Outlaw’s Worst Nightmare,” and Norris certainly qualifies for that all by himself. He asks a good question for people to consider on November 4th:
Protect your rights on Election Day. Check the candidates’ records — and see who stood up for your families, and who protected the criminals.
Norris, for all his tough-guy persona, has a real warmth and approachability on camera. He can afford to seem affable; anyone with his skills doesn’t need to look or sound tough. That makes him a very effective spokesman for the NRA and for political candidates, and this ad is especially good at underscoring the need for voter consideration of Second Amendment principles.
If you want to see how committed Norris is to his rights of gun ownership and self-defense, check the sign behind him near the end of the commercial. It warns people that “We don’t dial 911″. Maybe they should have figured that more prominently in the ad.
Update: I wrote “call” instead of “dial”. Sorry, Chuck. Uh, Chuck, why are you swiveling your leg — [thud].

Any American gun owner should be deathly afraid of Osissy, the man has a startlingly bad record towards guns.

Chuck Norris, when we need him most. HOO-rah.

Right on, right on..

Chuck is great. I certainly never knew of his leanings. I didn’t know he was writing pieces for Human Events until a few months ago.
He’s very articulate, even if Walker TX Ranger was really bad (I am embarrassed for him, truly I am).
Thanks for voicing your concerns Chuck!
Badger40 on October 28, 2008 at 2:15 PM
Chuck is a crappy spokesman for the NRA. He once wrote that if he had his way, he would tattoo the foreheads of non-Christians so everybody would know who they are. One of the boldest unAmerican plans I’ve heard.

Love the Ennio Morricone (?) music. I love these American West ads.

Chuck Norris and Joe the Plumber once met the concept of Mercy. The police still haven’t found the remains.

Chuck Norris nursed a fawn hit by a car back to life before a crowd of amazed onlookers last Thursday. He then roundhouse kicked its head off just to prove he could.
BadgerHawk on October 28, 2008 at 2:20 PM
We now mourn the passing of Ed Morrissey. He met his end as many before him - the business end of a roundhouse.
In other news, GO CHUCK!

Way to go Chuck! I love my guns. Don’t leave home with out one!! Just kidding. But, guns are necessary to have. Especially in a time like this one. One never knows.

Hi, I’m Chuck Norris a black belt patriot.
He actually said that with a seemingly lack of embarrassment.
And then he little cartoonish punch at the end…reminds me of when he was schilling for the evil ghastly Huckabee.
Crap like that doesnt exactly help remind people that we are supposed to be the smarter more rational group. You know, the party of Huckabee, Chuck Norris and Palin. Great.
I fondly remember the days when most of my fellow republicans didnt embarrass me. We will all get our pay for this next week.

They FEAR Chuck Norris.
pilamaye on October 28, 2008 at 2:40 PM
Dude, I thought you were joking. There is no way even somebody as stupid as chuch Norris would say that and still be allowed to campaign…even for somebody as equally stupid as Huckabee. Not a chance. funny though.

The WND article appears to be gone, but here’s a link from HotAir.
Notice that Chuck is the author of the article quoted.

I think you are mistaken. It must have been a bad joke. That is Hitlerian. Ok, its a Huckabee supporter but still….no way.
Roger Waters on October 28, 2008 at 2:50 PM
I doubt if you are republican
grapeknutz on October 28, 2008 at 2:51 PM
That is a dance of many Democrats, revealed by my private conversations with the party’s strategists. As urban liberals, they reject constitutional protection for gun owners. As campaign managers, they want to avoid re-enacting the fate of many Democratic candidates who lost elections because of gun control advocacy. The party’s House leadership last year pulled off the floor a bill for a District of Columbia congressional seat in order to save Democratic members from having to vote on a Republican amendment against the D.C. gun law……Robert Novak
“If you’ve got a gun in your house, I’m not taking it,” Obama said to the skeptical audience. “This can’t be the reason not to vote for me. Can everyone hear me in the back? I see a couple of sportsmen back there. I’m not going to take away your guns.”
But during his emotional meltdown, Obama offered a moment of disarming honesty: “Even if I want to take [your guns] away,” he said, “I don’t have the votes in Congress.” link
Gore lost three states to Bush for his stance on guns rights to the individual. Obama is no different!

Roger Waters on October 28, 2008 at 2:57 PM
He is not…his job or mission is to “stir-up” the pot on Hot Air, and probably other sites.
We keep him around as a “pet”, it reminds us of how desperate liberals are that they actually think posting controversial dialogue on a post will somehow influence some voter.
Instead we just laugh at their weak attempt.
“I have always been a lifelong Republican, but this year, because John McCain (pick one)
Isn’t honest
Is too old
Is cranky
Picked Palin
Too liberal
and others too numerous to list
I have to vote for Obama, it breaks my heart, but he is just a better man”
That is one of many little statement you hear from these moby’s.
They crack us up, they are so transparent…
right2bright on October 28, 2008 at 3:00 PM
So Floating Rock, do you really think Chuck Norris would want to “Increase jobs in America by sending ninja teams to sabotage and steal them back from other countries.” Next time read your source before quoting it.

Bishop,
Maybe there is a good reason that Barrack Hussein Obama has a bad record toward guns.
Does he even know what a gun is, or what a gun looks like?
William2006 on October 28, 2008 at 3:05 PM
floating rock,
Obviously Chuck was joking about the tattoos, but I like how you misquoted the article you linked to:
“He once wrote that if he had his way, he would tattoo the foreheads of non-Christians so everybody would know who they are.”
.
Try to stick with honesty. It’s always the best policy.
warden on October 28, 2008 at 3:06 PM
I checked the source link but it was dead. Thanks for finding it.
FloatingRock on October 28, 2008 at 3:09 PM
How dare you insult Chcuk Norris by insinuating he telegraphs his roundhouse. You’d never see it coming Ed.
Theworldisnotenough on October 28, 2008 at 3:13 PM
It appears so.
Now you’re misquoting me, or more accurately misrepresenting a paraphrase as a quote. I didn’t use any quotes.
Verses: “Tattoo an American flag with the words, “In God we trust,” on the forehead of every atheist.”
How is that materially different?
I was wrong, sorry, but it was an honest mistake.
FloatingRock on October 28, 2008 at 3:17 PM
Non-christian and atheist are not synonyms and you using them interchangeably says quite a lot of your leanings.
warden on October 28, 2008 at 3:21 PM
Mr. Norris. I’m with you.

You are voting for Obama Not2Bright? Well, I am voting for McCain (while holding my nose) and I suggest anybody who loves their country also vote for McCain…even following Ann Coulters example and getting drunk first if need be.
Roger Waters on October 28, 2008 at 3:24 PM
I see. So, had the quoted passage been made in earnest, would you suggest that tattooing the foreheads of atheists doesn’t rise to the same level of offense as doing the same to non-Christians?
If so, that says quite a lot of your leanings.
I find the entire concept in both regards to be equally offensive.

Of course you do. Anti-Christian lefties have no sense of humor. They are regularly shown in studies to be the least happy people in the greatest country the world has ever known.
My suggestion: get a hobby.

FloatingRock on October 28, 2008 at 3:27 PM
If Chuck was being serious, I would agree. As it is, I think his piece is quite hilarious.
Warden is apparently ok with religious discrimination against minorities that are too small to speak for themselves.
Re-writing a famous poem:
craig on October 28, 2008 at 3:38 PM
Yeah, sure you are…don’t be such a fool. The chances of you voting for McCain is the same as me voting for Obama…nil.
You see, you can say anything you want, and it can’t be proven.
Look over your posts, you coy little boy, and you can see a pattern. You are as much of a Republican as Obama is.
But you are still entertaining, but you are who you are, a liberal trying to be accepted on a conservative web site…you’re failing.
right2bright on October 28, 2008 at 3:40 PM
You raise an interesting point, Warden. While Chuck’s article may have been satire, the passage quoted above still reveals a kernel of truth about all too many religious fundamentalists in the world, even in the greatest country the world has ever known.
FloatingRock on October 28, 2008 at 3:41 PM
And one other little ditty…in the last couple of years, the not2bright has been tried by every other troll when caught. A sure sign, every little troll who has gone to the “not2bright card”, has proved to be a troll. Not very original, but very telling.
right2bright on October 28, 2008 at 3:44 PM
First of all I never took the quote as anything more than a “Chuck Norris is a Bad Ass” joke. My problem is that you reworded the joke from atheist to non-Christian and took is seriously, because in your world view, Christianity is a real threat to you. I find that silly and without any logic.
Please do us both a favor and go stay in a Holiday Inn tonight and come back tomorrow and re-read the posts you find so confusing.
warden on October 28, 2008 at 3:45 PM
The fact that you find atheist verses non-Christian to be such an important distinction, mitigating the measure of offensiveness, reveals a kernel of truth which demonstrates why religious fundamentalists of any type, (not Christians per se), are often feared by others.
FloatingRock on October 28, 2008 at 3:57 PM
Isn’t 911 that nice artistic service that draws chalk outlines?
LimeyGeek on October 28, 2008 at 4:00 PM
Again, I never made the distinction. You did in your first comment.
Take a break and come back and re-read the posts.
warden on October 28, 2008 at 4:00 PM
How the feck did this thread end up in religious babble?
LimeyGeek on October 28, 2008 at 4:05 PM
Someone quoted a comment about tattooing “In God We Trust” on people’s foreheads. Apparently it was partially a misquote, or something.

FloatingRock on October 28, 2008 at 4:07 PM
Sorry, it was my fault initially. I’ll lay off teasing Warden and let it get back to the original topic.
FloatingRock on October 28, 2008 at 4:10 PM
I was not offended by the Chuck Norris / atheist joke. You were offended and aimed it towards Christians. I found your offense silly and pointed out your bias against Christians.
Who made the distinction?
warden on October 28, 2008 at 4:21 PM
Not2bright,
I think you are still holding a grudge from our Huck vs Romney discussions during the primaries you Hucker you.
Roger Waters on October 28, 2008 at 4:59 PM
Well, that shows really how stupid you are…first you are still trying that not2bright, believe me, it has been done several times in the past couple of years.
Here try these when you get tired of repeating what others have done for you:
right2bwrong
right2bstupid
right2bdumb
but of course the favorite because it has been done before is the one you use not2bright.
Now, let’s see how smart you are…show me where I supported Huck over Romney?
And basically I can’t remember any worthwhile discussions with you. I consider you a moby, and realize most of what you post is to “stir the pot”.
You won’t find any, and you won’t care that you mis-characterize posters, because that is what you do, nothing else, just shoot off your mouth; get proven you are wrong. Then you post again as if you had not stepped in it.
So here we go…prove me wrong and find the post that I accepted or hinted that Huck would be better then Romney.
I’ll wait, but not hold my breath…
Or you will man up and say you were mistaken…once again I won’t hold my breath.
right2bright on October 28, 2008 at 5:16 PM
dude, like about a year ago somebody, I thought there name was right2bright was blasting me as I was supporting Romney…throwing scriptures at me and crap…even though I am not a religious dude. This guy was a serious Huckabiteme.
If that wasnt you…then I was wrong…and I apologize.

InTheBellyoftheBeast on October 28, 2008 at 7:09 PM
Call 911 when you need to report a mysterious body on the floor at your house. Gives them a chance to do some detective work. Oh yeah, be sure the body is inside first.
InTheBellyoftheBeast on October 28, 2008 at 7:11 PM
Huck couldn’t shine Romney’s shoes. I am no avid fan of Romney (as a Presidential contender), but always thought he would be a good VP (Palin is better), or an excellent cabinet member. However, lately with his cronies slamming Palin before the election (leave that bitterness till after the election) I have definitely cooled.
I thought McCain should have named him as a cabinet member before the election (before his goons started stabbing Palin in the back).
right2bright on October 29, 2008 at 12:43 AM
Actually you got that backwards. We need a conservative president; not a Republican president.
