The disarming Democrats

The Wall Street Journal warns of one clear consequence in electing a Democratic President to match with a Congress controlled by fellow Democrats — disarmament. The WSJ looks at the inconsistencies of both Obama and Joe Biden on defense plans, and warns that the US could be looking at a drastic reduction in military readiness during a time of war:
When it comes to defense, there are two Barack Obamas in this race. There is the candidate who insists, as he did last year in an article in Foreign Affairs, that “a strong military is, more than anything, necessary to sustain peace”; pledges to increase the size of our ground forces by 65,000 soldiers and 27,000 Marines while providing them with “first-rate equipment, armor, incentives and training”; and seems to be as gung-ho for a surge in Afghanistan as he was opposed to the one in Iraq.
And then there is the candidate who early this year recorded an ad for Caucus for Priorities, a far-left outfit that wants to cut 15% of the Pentagon’s budget in favor of “education, healthcare, job training, alternative energy development, world hunger [and] deficit reduction.”
“Thanks so much for the Caucus for Priorities for the great work you’ve been doing,” says Mr. Obama in the ad, before promising to “cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending . . . slow our development of future combat systems . . . not develop new nuclear weapons.”
Joe Biden also cut an ad for the group that was even more emphatic: “I’ll tell you what we cannot afford . . . a trillion-dollar commitment to ‘Star Wars,’ new nuclear weapons, a thousand-ship Navy, the F-22 Raptor.”
None of this should surprise anyone, especially after recalling this Obama spot from early in the primaries:
We neglected our military in the 1990s when we didn’t have a war to fight, or at least one we acknowledged. That neglect handicapped us in fighting the war on terror, which is still ongoing. Now Obama and the Democrats want to replay the disarmament and neglect of the 1990s in the middle of a war. How exactly will that help make America more secure?

How stupid is it to disarm and then still be hawkish on foreign policy, like Obama pretends to be?

Yeah military family here, I for one, am thrilled that Bambi is likely to sign off on Barney Frank gutting defense 25% and simultaneously wanting us to “do logistics” in Africa…..
He wants the US to get its nose bloodied after signing on to the ICC.

If Obama gets elected and folds the US like a tent, Russia and other strong men win big.
What all does Russia get? Ukraine, Georgia, maybe Baltic states again and eventually Germany?
China take Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan?

Cheese and Rice, I could just strangle…..do these fools not know that a giant portion of the defense budget is spent on precision munitions which SAVE the lives of innocents and our soldiers while killing only the targets?
Are we to go back to Stalingrad-type urban combat and carpet bombing? I swear, are these people insane?

This morning I caught a bit on Obama’s closing argument speech where he was listing his economic plan and closed by saying to the effect that he’ll get the money from the 10B a month in Iraq. Now I thought that number was the cost of funding the entire Pentagon. So I’m guessing that yeah, we won’t be needing a military, nor will the rest of the world … cause Obama going to create for us a Civilian National Security Corps.

Disarmament – in more ways than one. Apparently many in our country have failed to learn the lessons of the past. Disarming (see: reducing) our military is foolish and dangerous; disarming Americans is un-American….and unconstitutional.

It won’t, and that’s what they want, in order to impose more control on the rest of us.
Have you noticed that Obama wants to “talk”, unconditinally with our enemies, Barny Frank wants to cut the Military’s budget by 25% in a time of war, all the Democrats campaigned on “ending the war” instead of winning it………
………… but let “Joe the Plumber” ask one question and the gloves come off?
It’s apparent that “the One” takes greater action upon regular American Citizens that might question his policies, than actual countries that have all of us in their sites.

The first time this fool is tested, he will crap in his pants.

Been helping teach a tax class, and getting ready for the election. I did some volunteer work for the campaign here. Look take the weird polls with a grain of salt the GOP is solid behind McCain and ready to crawl on broken glass to beat Bambi.
The polls are skewed to model “new likely voters”.
I suspect whoever wins it will be by more than 3%either McCain and the silent irritated majority or Bambi and the ACORN Cadaver Cartoon CORPS will make the margin wider than polls suggest.
I have faith in the American people’s wisdom when things are reported fairly, this is not the case this time in essence we know more about Joe the Plumber’s butt-crack through the violation of his privacy than we know about Bambi’s speeches and values if all we rely on is the press.
The nation, or at a minimum its leftoids and newsies are ill, I mean seriously ill and if it comes to brass tacks and the choice is between the founders’ embrace of Lockeian principles of the primacy of the individual or the Bambibot’s Marxian dreams the nation will at a minimum schism in ways not seen for a hundred-sixy years.
I’m with Sarah.

So Barry, can you explain how your cuts will affect us? I can:
1. increase in unemployment as defense contractors and military are downsized.
2. increased threat and likelihood of terrorism worldwide
3. oil prices headed back up again, as terror premium is reinstated
4. destabilization of the middle east as troops are pulled from areas recovering from war
5. less weight at the bargaining table with Russia, China, etc, since we voluntarily removed our counter-threat
Hey Barry, try thinking more than a few days ahead for once.

You can bet that Obama will not make this sweeping indictment of our security forces again as he tries to move to the center in the general election. But this is what he thinks, and this is what he plans to do.
His campaign Web site doesn’t list a separate category for military or defense under “Issues.” But search shows near-identical language there regarding nuclear weapons.
His plan, needless to say, is frighteningly irresponsible given the world threats.
While there is fat in the defense budget, defense spending both as a share of GDP and the total federal budget are still at historically low levels, despite the war.
And while cutting fat out of the defense budget is a worthy goal, Obama would cut beyond fat to bone.
Caucus for Priorities aims to redirect 15% of the Pentagon’s discretionary budget away from “obsolete Cold War weapons towards education, health care, job training, alternative energy development, world hunger and deficit-reduction.”
On the chopping block: the F-22 Raptor, the V-22 Osprey, the Virginia-class sub, the DDG-1,000 destroyer and the Army’s Future Combat System.

remember their idea of precision guided munitions is to wire up a mongoloid child with 40 pounds of c-4 and rat-poison covered shrapnel and aim him at a mosque…..these are not rocket scientists we are discussing and the left has fundtionally painted us in a corner given our knee-jerk reaction away from empire….
we are funding 7-12th century minds to the point they will have at a minum late ’40s level nuke tech within the decade and simultaneously assuring them through giving handjobs to our “allies” that we will never retaliate in kind….and our public is eating it up.
It was my sincere hope that the loss of 3,000 American civillians on one day owuld be enough for us to steel the political will to teach the region a lesson and fund domestic nuclear plants while eliminating regional tough guys’ oil production.
It was not meant to be, instead of paradigm shifts in national defense policy we went schizoid and treated it as a peacekeeping op/domestic cops and robbers game without the domestic game being allowed to use “evil profiling”.
Best case scenario is a United States under McCain gets lucky and interdicts the WMD strike one of our enemies intends before it happens steeling our will…..worst case is a disunited states has to absorb one or more major metro areas suddenly needing SPF 3500 lotion and we either have the tools to go sword of damocles or not….but at any rate Barry’s “vision” almost ensures the use of nukes before 2025.

I have been trying to get this very message out since this election cycle began. I realize the focus is on the economy right now and that helps Obambi, however I try to remind people that are leaning Obambi (because of the economy) they need to remember Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, and the first and foremost need for anyone is survival!
The economy won’t mean a damn thing if we get hit by those that have vowed to destroy us, and with Iran getting closer to a nuke the stakes are even higher!
Eveyone keeps saying “it’s the economy stupid” but anyone with half a brain should know it’s not the “economy stupid” what’s most important is the survival of our people and nation, and if Obambi is elected POTUS he will gut our military and intelligence agencies as Slick Willy did so he can brag about a budget surplus while our enemies go unchecked and hit us with something worse than 9-11!
For this reason alone Obambi should not be elected POTUS!

Obama is a shameless liar, a committed leftist and an egotist, a combination that spells disaster for more than the military. Owhorama will use his election as a mandate from the American people to end our “cowboy” policies and adopt a more cooperative(EU) posture with the wold community, as such he’ll claim the need to shift American strategic policy from one of stand alone or independent capability to a policy that will rely far more on mutual aid and shared responsibility. While this approach may sound reasonable it is nothing more than an exercise in rhetorical 3 card charlie. Under such a strategic vision Owhorama will cull the vast majority of our offensive strike platforms (B1,B2, Tridents and ICBMS) claiming that together with our new one world strategic partners (UN) we can provide tactical solutions to any threat, he’ll make good on his promise to eliminate any ABM systems, claiming they are unproven despite the facts to the contrary. He will freeze any further procurement of advanced systems like the F22, F35, Arleigh Burke FIIA, V22, CH53K and the ABL, again claiming that current resources when combined with our allies are more than adequate. We can kiss goodbye replacements for the C5, KC135, UH60, LA class attack subs, M1A2. Owhorama’s message that we need to be a more responsible world citizen coupled with tough economic times will seal the deal with the redistribution crowd. Did I mention The War on Terror?…neither will he. A nice fat peace dividend to pay for all the nice fat social programs. Keep’m happy dumb and fat, they’ll vote Democrat everytime!

0bama is a naive metrosexual Marxist who is going to get a lot of US soldiers killed if he becomes CIC. Look for many military people to leave the service like they did during Clinton and Carter.

Michelle O. obviously did some intimate disarmament on Barry long ago.

Obama/Biden can cut the money from the military budget because of the Department of Peace and Nonviolence (H.R. 808) that was mentioned here in another thread.
The word “Peace” has never made me feel ill before. Who doesn’t want peace? The more apt word would have been pacification.
You guys need to read the legislation. It will essentially create a generation of Americans that will not fight.

Of course, if you believe we are a bad country doing bad things with a racist past we can never let go of, you will want to weaken us to allow our enemies easier access to attack and kill us. The big-eared goblin thinks we deserve such punishment and, by Allah, he’s going to make it happen.
(yes, I know he claims to be a Christian. But why should I accept this if almost all his other claims and promises are bull****)

Are we to go back to Stalingrad-type urban combat and carpet bombing? I swear, are these people insane?

“WHAT will disarmament of America secure” is the question.
MARXISM
The answer is as obvious as the question: Obama Marxism will dismantel the US Military, having monopolized the Legislative, Judicial and Executive Branches.
JUDICIAL? Judges deny citizens “standing” in court regarding CONSTITUTIONAL matters, wherein the Constitution literally guarantees Citizens “standing” in whatever Constitutional matter before the Courts.

Though it be China’s dream to monopolize Japan, come right down to the wire of combat, I don’t see Japan succumbing to domination by China though it be obliterated in the process of battle. Japan may have been “Americanized” into consumer driven capitalism, but because they are a homogeneous racial population, their cultural identity or traditional heritage is potently intact. The Japanese may well prove they’d rather die than submit to tyranny from China. (Reminiscent of our Founding Fathers’ sentiment under Colonialism without fair representation from the oppressive government abroad.)
With Obama in office, the US will refuse its alliances, having refused its own citizens’ Constitutional Rights.
D-Obama brings deprivation, destruction and death.
Vote against D-candidates.
