In awe.
Sorry if you think i rambled all over the place. I am not saying that France's action's in the oil for food program with the U.N is acceptable.

What i am whining about is U.S double standards and hypocrisy in your foreign policy.

So, are saying Sarkozy as a right wing leader is the same as your right wing.American's seem to want to label others but in absolutes.

Pro American/Anti-American Good v Evil, Left v Right,we in the U.k don't define ourselves like that.

Although right wing his politic's don't match yours.

Inclusive welfare, labour friendly including a 35 hour week.
Advocates taxes at 60%.
Supported kyoto ,pro enviroment, free health care for immigrant's.

He is on record saying that it was a good decision to keep France out of iraq.
It just seems that you think he is wise only when he is saying thing's that you like.

mags,

You have tried to change the topic from France's unwillingness to support implementation of responses to numerous violations of the UN sanctions and the terms of surrender in 1993 to French soldiers' sacrifices in World War I and WWII? And the reaction French citizens (not government - citizens)to 9/11. Say what?

Back on topic, you failed to address the pertinent issues as to why we might view Sarkozy differently than his predecessors. Let me remind you:

The French administration prior to Sarkozy had a bit different outlook on the world - shall we say cynical?

- violate weapons embargoes on Iraq and continue to provide weapons and spare parts
- provide technical assistance to Iraq though technicians and experts on the ground
- provide Iraq with military intelligence
- provide safe harbor for billions of $ stolen through the Oil for Food program
- negotiating with Saddam for oil field production and exploration rights
- France siding with Russia in the UN to hinder economic, diplomatic and military actions against Iraq while Iraq was violating UN sanctions on a daily basis
- etc.

Yeah, it is REALLY amazing that we’d view Sarkozy with a different eye.

The French administration prior to Sarkozy had a bit different outlook on the world – shall we say cynical?

[...] Do the American people believe it is important to have a man of good character in the Oval Office? Are they aware that Obama and the Democrats are planning to downsize the military as much as 25%? Have Americans forgotten that we are still fighting two wars? Do they think the threats will end if Obama declares the wars over and brings the troops home? Do they really believe America will be respected and trusted by our allies and our enemies if Obama engages in such a naive foreign policy of appeasement? [...]

In-awe,jadenyu,mike honcho,
Following 9/11 many including me cried,to this day i can't look at images or hear any of those poor people's phone calls.

France said 'we are all American's'.There were long que's around the world to sign condolences books.
Even Iran had candlelit virgil's,even the relgious leaders strongly condemned it.

The U.S has no moral standing to say France was making money in Iraq and that's why they didn't support it.

The U.S sold the gas to saddam that he used to kill the Kurds. The U.S supported and funded Iraq's war with Iran including chemical weapon's that were used against Iranian civilians.

Don't get me started on Saudia Arabia.

Others countries as well as France were saying there wasn't WMD in Iraq.

Remember those drawings of mobile weapon's factories? That came from a french 'informer'.France's intelligence's services warned he was a fantasist and do not put great importance to his information.
This man was in France and the C.I.A didn't even go to interview him.

Saying that you don't give a shit about other countries weaken's you.
Do you want shared intelligence, places to fuel, air space to fly, detail's of people coming in to your country?

France suffered greatly after ww1,they lost a generation and were ill equiped.
The German army overwhelmed them with boots on ground. You have no right mock them, where was the U.S.?

Blame their leaders but do not besmirch the French and other countries losses and sacrifice's.

Many very young soldiers practicaly ran into bayonets to push back Germany and we here in the U.K will be remembering these shortly on Armistice Sunday ,including U.S losses.Go and get a poppy.

<blockquote> If Obama does win, I wouldn’t blame him for retaliating against Israel for this stunt.

Everyone knows that Israel is f#cked if BHO gets into office. That was always the case.

But it's nice to know that BHO has your okay, now.

<blockquote>So, America finally has an ally in France, but the possible president of this nation will screw that up.

Nice.

America no, conservatives yes.

And just remember this info came via Israel. Israel better be extremely careful in trying to influence US elections. If Obama does win, I wouldn't blame him for retaliating against Israel for this stunt.
