Ohio official OK’d records search on Joe the Plumber

posted at 11:00 am on October 28, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

The Columbus Dispatch reports that at least one culprit has emerged from the misuse of public information to attack Joe Wurzelbacher — and to no one’s surprise, she’s a Democrat and a big Barack Obama supporter.  Helen Jones-Kelly decided to check on Wurzelbacher as soon as he became an issue in the third presidential debate.  But this maxed-out donor to Obama swears that she had no political reasons for her sudden curiosity about Wurzelbacher:

Ohio’s inspector general is investigating why a state agency director approved checking the state child-support computer system for information on “Joe the Plumber.”

Helen Jones-Kelly, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, confirmed today that she OK’d the check on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher following the Oct. 15 presidential debate.

She said there were no political reasons for the check on the sudden presidential campaign fixture though the Support Enforcement Tracking System.

Amid questions from the media and others about “Joe the Plumber,” Jones-Kelley said she approved a check to determine if he was current on any ordered child-support payments.

Those records are supposed to be checked only when some probable cause exists to do so.  What was Jones-Kelley’s probable cause?  She claims that sudden public notoriety is enough to generate an investigation of someone’s status.  I can’t wait to hear what the ACLU makes of that explanation.

The more likely explanation comes from Ace:

Yes, Helen Jones-Kelley (two e’s in Kelley) just happens to be a maximum $2300 contributor to Barack Obama.

What a [expletive] shock, huh?

But she provides this sort of illegal intrusion into personal records for anyone who “comes into the public light.” It’s a public service, you see.

Right.

Riiiiight.

Here’s an even bigger shock:

Democrat Gov. Ted Strickland is satisfied that there are no political overtures to the check on Wurzelbacher, a spokesman said.  “Based on what we know to this point, we don’t have any reason to believe the information was improperly accessed or disclosed by a state employee,” said Keith Dailey, Strickland’s press secretary.

No reason to believe that Wurzelbacher got politically vetted for dirt?  What reason existed to look up his information at that particular point in time?  Had someone filed a complaint against Joe?  The act of opening his court records by a public agency has to have some motivation, and if no reason for a legitimate investigation exists, then by deduction the reasons were illegitimate — and almost certainly a Dumpster Dive for Dirt.

Change You Can Believe In — The State Will Own You.  You’d better believe it.

More good news out of the Buckeye State. Park Benches are now considered addresses.

Go Michigan!!!

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – A federal judge in Ohio has ruled that counties must allow homeless voters to list park benches and other locations that aren’t buildings as their addresses.

Hey, just paint some street numbers on the benches and there ya go. Instant house. Plus a bench fits right into the Democratic platform. It’s free. All costs paid by the taxpayers including maintenance. No rent. Besides, you gotta have some place to deliver all those tax refund checks.

Not only are most of the news sources in the tank for the looney liberals, but so are an increasing number of government officials. Expect more blatant abuses of power like this even IF McCain is elected.

By now the ballot box is worthless unless somehow every single incumbent were unseated all at once. There’s only one option left and it’s so risky I don’t even want to think about it.

That would work well until some committee headed by a Democrat causes a meltdown in the GSEs set up to make benching more accessible to the poor and the news is filled with anecdotal stories of families who were happily “benching” beyond their means. Thus the rise in the dumpster dweller.

Of all the well founded fears regarding an Obama administration, this one has not been discussed enough. This is not just a fear but a reality, we have seen enough evidence already.
Imagine how “empowered” the overwhelmingly liberal and affirmative action bureaucracy that we already have at every level of government will feel. When “family services” starts investigating you because they don’t like your political expression (or simply don’t like you asking questions) we are in big trouble. Consider the danger to, say, a homeschooling family that might have a republican sign on their loan, should they expect a visit from the Department of Children Services?

Republican sign on the lawn, rejecting the teacher’s unions demands that the state-sponsored indoctrination program be mandatory for all units, more than likely an expressed faith in a higher being that isn’t a community organizer from Chicago and practicing a religion that isn’t secular humanism……

From the Democrats/liberal point of view, that lawn sign is just a tip-off that depraved people are in there harming their children. To those of us on the right, we call those people Americans.

I don’t think the federal DOJ has any say in the matter. Redress will have to come from a) a suit by Joe the Plumber, and/or b) outrage from the body politic in Ohio.

From AMERICAN THINKER:

Who else is heading for swing states?
By Thomas Lifson

Warren Throckmorton has noticed something odd and invites us to connect the dots:

Dot one – Amy Little, former campaign manager for Rep. John Hall (D-NY) and current advisor, resides in New Paltz, New York (this is near Poughkeepsie).

Dot two – Ms. Little is in Columbus, Ohio (1979 N. Fourth Street to be exact) co-organizing Vote Today Ohio, a pro-Obama get out the vote group.

Dot three – Ms. Little registered to vote in Ohio even though she is a resident of New Paltz, NY.

How much more of this do you suppose there is?

Why would Ohio government officials evade their responsibility to provide clean elections?

A judge in Ohio determines that citizens have “no standing” to demand NO ELECTION FRAUD.

American Thinker hosts an article defining a citizen’s “standing” Constitutional Right to file suit on Constitutional matters, specifically “natural born citizen” Constitutional requirement of any POTUS, proving the case against the Judge’s ruling.

The Judicial Branch is separating citizens from their Constitutional Rights to bring to court Constitutional matters, using “from the bench” precedence as though a priori to the Constitution URTEXT.

Obama’s first adult friend and mentor was Frank Marshall Davis, black poet official Communist Party member devoted to Stalin’s USSR manipulation of the USA. Obama learned old school Communism before leaving Hawaii to attend Occidental to convert into SDS, Black Panther and Weather Underground updated versions of Stalinists. Having converted America’s vocabulary into socialist newspeak, having converted America’s educational system into socialist indoctrination camps of revisionist world view, Ayers & Ilk perfected fraudulent policies simultaneously overwhelming our nation’s economy AND elections. Years of preparation provided the perfect storm setting for D-legislators with media microphones to shout “FIRE” in order to ignite the brewing firestorm.

NOW OUR JUDICIAL BRANCH REFUSES TO PROTECT THE CONSTITUTION FROM HACKS OF FRAUD! Our Judicial Branch refuses us as citizens any “standing” as granted by the Constitution. We citizens have become “inconvenient” and are quickly becoming non-entities as judges refuse their Constitutional obligation to address our Constitutional grievances, dismissing our Constitutional Right to our day in court suing ELECTION FRAUD, particularly denying our standing prior to election day.

Analogy:
A person is being tortured. Authorities refuse to acknowledge any reason to accept the victim’s case, claiming that torture is an inconvenience in their presence that deserves no “standing”. Denial. The victim identifies his attackers. The authorities throw away the victim’s reports. The attackers blatantly announce the date they intend to assassinate the victim. The victim pleads for protection from authorities who find the entire incident inconvenient and easy to dismiss by claiming the victim has no standing. The assassination takes place; the victim has no standing.

The days of racism between blacks and whites never really left us it appears. I had no idea of just how badly blacks view whites in this country. It is just a matter of time (if Obama gets elected) that the American people will have shock of the socialistic turn in the country which is drastic by the way. If you complain about your health care system, you will have a nightmare once you get that adopted in the U.S.A. Look at Canada, we only have 32 million residents and we are experiencing an inhumane waiting list and high taxes. Can you imagine what would happen considering the 300 million population, plus illegal aliens who are going to get amnesty. I do hope Americans vote for McCain before it is too late. The communists are on the march and it is very scary. Thank God in Canada at least we now have Stephen Harper who is for lower taxes and no carbon tax. God help America.
