A palate cleanser via the Jawas. Maybe a smidgen over the top, although less so today than yesterday.

What can I say? I’m a sucker for Rocky IV allusions. I make no apologies.

Gotta love Glenn Beck!

Glenn Jericho on October 27, 2008 at 5:42 PM

HAHAHAHA… I actually love the Russian Anthem.

The music… not what it stands for.

Abby Adams on October 27, 2008 at 5:42 PM

Looks like a “Hardball” segment. Tingles all down my legs…

HornetSting on October 27, 2008 at 5:42 PM

I assume we know that it was created by Glenn Beck.

He had quite a difficult time even finding people willing to sing it.

dc84123 on October 27, 2008 at 5:43 PM

Oh man… that was great!! I’m still laughing.

Maxx on October 27, 2008 at 5:44 PM

The first comment from an Obama supporter on the YouTube video:

cnek (42 seconds ago) 0 Reply
hey if you conservative morons are going to make a negative video of Obama don’t make the music be the most kickass anthem that ever graced human ears and don’t make the flags more visually attractive with the red and gold than your abortion of a failed flag.

ALL HAIL OBAMA.

OBAMA ‘08

eaglesdontflock on October 27, 2008 at 5:45 PM

Glenn’s cartoons are awesome. Check out the Kyoto treaty and illegal immigration and middle east ones.

lodge on October 27, 2008 at 5:45 PM

Dude, I totally started singing in Russian when I heard that music.

I really don’t like the nuObama version – gives me the heebee jeebees.

Anna on October 27, 2008 at 5:45 PM

The Lohan line was retarded, as are any lines comparing fame. Get rid of that and it would be a hit.

muyoso on October 27, 2008 at 5:46 PM

Just you wait. Obama will govern the country just like Chavez, Mugabe, and Putin. You’ll see large swaths of the economy nationalized. It’s going to be ugly.

eaglesdontflock on October 27, 2008 at 5:45 PM

heh, that doesn’t surprise me.

JetBoy on October 27, 2008 at 5:47 PM

Thank goodness Glenn Beck is going to Fox. He will finally get the audience that he deserves. He is fantastic!

muyoso on October 27, 2008 at 5:46 PM

Yeah I thought that was out-of-place and kind of took the edge off of the parody.

Hannibal Smith on October 27, 2008 at 5:49 PM

Very cute. Especially the proud look on the face of Olbermann while he gives the salute.

(And the russian subtitles that get replaced by english)

I’m sure Glenn Beck is going to get right on that, sport. it’s good for him that he has you to tell him what’s funny and what’s not.

Funny. But, is THIS ??

SENATOR OBAMA CAMPAIGN LAWYER TRYING TO INTIMIDATE STUDENT JOURNALISTS ?? why because they CAUGHT and EXPOSED actual fraud?
by Greta Van Susteren

UPDATE: 1:10pm — I was told the lawyer apologized to the Palestra journalist..and said he did not mean it to be an intimidation.

SENATOR OBAMA CAMPAIGN LAWYER: TRYING TO covertly INTIMIDATE COLLEGE JOURNALISTS?

If you have been watching ON THE RECORD at 10pm eastern, you know about Palestra.net — the college news network. But here is the BIG NEWS: the student journalists Tiffany Wilson and Shelby Holliday (not professionals) are AGGRESSIVE in pursuing voter fraud in Ohio and have uncovered ACTUAL voter fraud. They are also not afraid.

As a result of their journalism, votes already cast for President have had to be withdrawn.

So what is the students’ reward for exposing crime??? An intimidating letter from the Senator Obama campaign lawyer to one of the students?? See below and then you tell me…

From: Rosenberg, Thomas

Subject: At least in today’s blog you spelled my last name right

In other words, I am going to read what you write and watch what you say. Hopefully you will be fair and impartial as you told me you would be.

trosenberg@ralaw.com

and then there is this…a blogger on the Daily Kos I am told…investigating the student journalists???

and then there is this email below that was emailed to Palestra.net…WHO IS INVESTIGATING TIFFANY WILSON? and her “crime” is exposing crime???? huh??? WHO IS JOE KNAPP? PLEASE RESEARCH AND POST!

Subject: Attn: Tiffany Wilson
To:

Hello,

I’ve been looking into temporary residents registering to vote in
Ohio, and came across a _______ in _____ where four

I actually love the Russian Anthem. The music… not what it stands for. – Abby Adams on October 27, 2008 at 5:42 PM

Ugh. It’s lengthy, overwrought, overdone and pompous in a buraucratic way that only the Soviets could achieve.

Who was that who was about to eat the Twinkie. After Michelle Obama, before Sarah Palin I think.

wise_man on October 27, 2008 at 6:06 PM

Gee, I thought it was going to be a parody or something.

argos on October 27, 2008 at 6:08 PM

This just gets better and better!

It works on many levels, most of which would be lost on Osama Obama, who probably watched it and thought to himself, “hmmmmm…why not?”

Sorry, but that vid scares the crap out of me!

That’s Glenn Beck (his cartoon of himself).

Abby Adams on October 27, 2008 at 6:16 PM

Glad Glenn is going to Fox too. Take Lou Dobbs off CNN and it would be a total propaganda machine for the leftwing extremist movement in the country. Their movement has progressed much faster than expected and may catch the American electorate by surprise. Reversing the damage from the what may be coming may take years to recover if recovering is even possible.

volsense on October 27, 2008 at 6:16 PM

Okay, Abby Adams. I’m surprised he’s not wearing that dog collar cone thing.

…nor are any necessary….

…it’s a damned shame that this bloody and bloody-minded tune is more singable than our actual anthem…catchy….

…and it’s nice that they worked Beck, Sarah, Uncle Ted, and a nifty Obama-esque logo-themed red flag into things….

…Barak Obama…the Stalin of his generation….

…the underground starts November 5th…pass it on….

Puritan1648 on October 27, 2008 at 6:40 PM

Um. Will we be required to sing a variation of this in the future? I don’t know if I should laugh.

shick on October 27, 2008 at 6:41 PM

[Glenn Beck] had quite a difficult time even finding people willing to sing it.

dc84123 on October 27, 2008 at 5:43 PM

It actually sounds like one guy multi-tracked a time or two.

Still, pretty much in keeping with what most of his sheeple think.

Captain Scarlet on October 27, 2008 at 6:44 PM

The first comment from an Obama supporter on the YouTube video:

…don’t make the flags more visually attractive with the red and gold than your abortion of a failed flag.

eaglesdontflock on October 27, 2008 at 5:45 PM

…that whole quote stinks of a flat, unfunny sort of sarcasm…then again, with the choice of second-person possessives — “your…failed flag” — maybe not.

I wonder if the Left is aware that having a “uniter” in charge isn’t enough…and that there is often a price for having someone in charge powerful enough to make all the trains run on time….

Puritan1648 on October 27, 2008 at 6:45 PM

Holy cow. They yanked the video.

ManlyRash on October 27, 2008 at 6:01 PM

…it goes hand in hand with their military’s old parade step…boys used to go by at “eyes right” with their chins tipped up, so’s you could look up their nostrils, the way skinny, scruffy little drunks challenge you with their chins…just before you unhinge their jaws….

…it’s in keeping with socialist doctrine: issue people their self-respect, and tell them that a collective display of bravura is powerful…all dignity derives from the state….

…all though some pigs are more dignified than others….

Puritan1648 on October 27, 2008 at 6:51 PM

I’ve been getting the same problem. Worked here, not on the youtube page. Says ’sorry, not available’ or something. I thought it was just something goofy with firefox or something. Other times, youtube tells me I don’t have flash installed. Mostly happens on some users’ videos, not all.

And now, i’m getting a long delay on hotair as it says ‘waiting to connect to ads.adsbright.com’ or whatever. Takes like 15 seconds to see the page. Its not as bad as the debate page with the embedded chat thing that craps up the page for like 50 seconds or a minute 10 or whatever. I hate computers.

Does anyone think that Ted Nugent (at around 1:05) would be allowed anywhere near an assembly like that? Especially with gun still in hand?

That was so depressing. I need an antidote, such as Obama On Your Shoulder. Or better yet, a certain old English drinking song.

I adore this video! However, it pisses me off that it took you weeks to pick up on it. Yeah, okay, I am whining. I sent this as a tip like 2-3 times over the past two weeks. How about actually reading the tips people take the time to send in to you? Blogs are supposed to be bleeding edge, aren’t they?

“Maybe a smidgen over the top…”

Really? Grow a set! Anyone here that can’t appreciate something of this brilliance without slighting it does appear to be out of his/her element.

Howzabout Rush’s 2112? With emphasis on Temples of Syrinx, of course:

II. Temples of Syrinx

… “The massive grey walls of the Temples rise from the heart of every Federation city. I have always been awed by them, to think that every single facet of every life is regulated and directed from within! Our books, our music, our work and play are all looked after by the benevolent wisdom of the priests…”

We’ve taken care of everything
The words you hear, the songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure to your eyes.
It’s one for all and all for one
We work together, common sons
Never need to wonder how or why.

We are the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers fill the hallowed halls.
We are the Priests, of the Temples of Syrinx
All the gifts of life are held within our walls.

Look around at this world we’ve made
Equality our stock in trade
Come and join the Brotherhood of Man
Oh, what a nice, contented world
Let the banners be unfurled
Hold the Red Star proudly high in hand.

We are the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers fill the hallowed halls.
We are the Priests, of the Temples of Syrinx
All the gifts of life are held within our walls.

The night Glenn Beck showed this on his show, MicHELLe O was in the Green room. Odd that within the week Glenn dissappeared from CNN. I wonder if there is any connection. Glenn was the ONLY thing I went to CNN for.
I though the guy in the skit with the twinky was Glenn B.

Da_Hutt on October 28, 2008 at 7:30 AM

Wow – I listen to all 3 hours of Glenn’s show every single day. I remember when he put this song out, but because they don’t have their act together as far as “distributing music,” I was never able to hear it on the podcast.

Thanks for the great post. Glad to finally know what Glenn was talking about!
