Quote of the day

posted at 10:35 pm on October 27, 2008 by Allahpundit

“Now by ‘smart,’ I don’t refer to a person who is wily or calculating or nimble in the way of certain talented athletes who we admire but suspect don’t really have serious brains in their skulls. I mean, instead, a mind that is thoughtful, curious, with a discernable pattern of associative thinking and insight. Palin asks questions, and probes linkages and logic that bring to mind a quirky law professor I once had. Palin is more than a ‘quick study’; I’d heard rumors around the campaign of her photographic memory and, frankly, I watched it in action. She sees. She processes. She questions, and only then, she acts. What is often called her ‘confidence’ is actually a rarity in national politics: I saw a woman who knows exactly who she is.”

Wow, this woman just reads pissed off. I love it. Here’s a couple other blocks that I loved reading:

Palin’s role in this campaign was to energize “the Republican base,” which she has inarguably done. She also was expected to reach out to Hillary Clinton “moderates.” (Right. Only a woman would get both those jobs in either party.) Look, I am obviously personally pro-choice, and I disagree with McCain and Palin on that and a few other issues. But like many other Democrats, including Lynn Rothschild, I’m tired of the Democratic Party taking women for granted. I also happen to believe Sarah Palin supports women’s rights, deeply and passionately.

At least the [prominent feminist] blogger didn’t go as far as NOW’s Kim Gandy and declare that Palin was not a woman. Bottom line: you are not a feminist until we say you are. And there you have the formula for diminishing what was once a great and important mass social change movement to an exclusionary club that rejects women who sincerely want to join and, God forbid, grow to lead.

BREAKING! BREAKING!! BREAKING!!!

Hawaii Shocker! Obama’s Momma Had Identical Triplets!
By Code Morse
25 October 2008

With less than 2 weeks to the Presidential Election, documents found in a musty corner of the local hospital purport that Ann Dunham, one of Barack Hussein Obama Sr.’s , wives, gave birth to triplets, named Barack I, II, III.

The current Presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama II, is now apparently accounted for, but the mystery remains where are Barack I and III?

Genealogists researching the Obama family have also reportedly found an attending nurse at the multiple births. Now living in a remote village in Honolulu, the woman requested to remain anonymous, but employment records at the hospital verified that she did indeed work in the birthing room at the time of the Obamas deliveries.

“They were so cute,” the nurse remembered,” but we felt sorry for them because when the father first saw them he screamed “WTF”, and abandoned them all on the spot!”

History reports that soon after, the triplet’s mother remarried, and moved to Indonesia where the Baracks all attended public school in Jakarta. Teachers there said you couldn’t tell them apart except for the number of diamond studs in their ear lobe, either 1,2 or 3,.

Apparently the trio also liked to confuse their teachers as each had 3 piercings done and were known to add and subtract the identifying studs at will causing wild confusion, especially in Economics Class where none of them could understand the theory of “paying your own way.”

Strangely, when the former Mrs. Barack Hussein Obama,Sr. returned to Hawaii, only Obama II accompanied her. She remained vague when asked about her other two sons, saying only they were “traveling” or “pursuing further study in religion and politics with a close personal Mullah.”

Answering an FBI inquiry earlier in his fledgling political career in sleazy Chicago Politics, Obama II produced a wrinkled duplicate of a birth certificate, but it did not specify which of the triplets he was. Not knowing 3 Baracks existed, the field officer let the issue slide.

Now it appears the CIA counter intelligence arm is on RED alert tracking down rumors on the two missing Baracks. Apparently they are as adroit as their footloose father in covering their tracks. Sightings and cell phone records have been traced to Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Syria, Pakistan, Venezuela, North Korea, and even to Iceland. Banking officials have also got the whiff of extensive off shore accounts with regular large monthly withdrawals.

Of more immediate concern, not yet made public due to censorship imparted by Howard Dean, DNC chairman, and Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, WHICH BARACK IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT?

In Switzerland a bizarre murder investigation is underway looking into the death of a world famous trans-gender surgeon after completing a sex change operation and reverse liposuction transformation on a patient only identified as being half African. Officials at the clinic where the operations were performed only remember flowers being delivered to the mysterious patient under the name of “Michelle”, but assume that was a pseudonym.

Meanwhile, back in the states, Michelle Obama has had trouble getting a passport to facilitate her husband’s triumphant world Presidential tour sometime in January. She claims the inability of Home Land Security and the FBI to find ANY documented history that she even exists as “racist”, a charge backed by Reverends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, who are still searching for their own soul.

And the third Barack? Republicans aren’t saying yet, but claim there will be a big surprise coming for the DEMS in the next week. Insiders say Barack I has been held in Guantanamo for two years as an enemy combatant and has completed an entire history of the curious rise to power of the multi-faceted Obama Family.

HBO says it has already purchased the rights and it will make “The Sorpranos” and “Rome” look like a Disney Production. Stay Tuned for ” The Obominations”

God bless the P.U.M.A.s.

Even the Clintons’ Arkansas friend Linda Bloodworth-Thomason criticizes MSNBC and defends Palin.

In a room full of television industry executives, no one seemed inclined to defend MSNBC on Monday for what some were calling its lopsidedly liberal coverage of the presidential election.

The cable news channel is “completely out of control,” said writer-producer Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, a self-proclaimed liberal Democrat.

She added that she would prefer a lunch date with right-leaning Fox News star Sean Hannity over left-leaning MSNBC star Keith Olbermann.

Olbermann was criticized by many who attended Monday’s luncheon sponsored by the Caucus for Producers, Writers & Directors at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The event was dubbed “Hollywood, America and Election ’08.”

Bloodworth-Thomason and others seemed especially critical of the way MSNBC — and other media — has attacked Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin while demeaning her supporters.

“We should stop the demonizing,” she said, adding that Democrats have been worse than Republicans as far as personal attacks on candidates are concerned. “It diminishes us,” she said of her fellow Democrats.

Bloodworth-Thomason even suggested a defense of Palin and her supporters should be written into TV programing, just as she went out of her way to portray Southern women as smart in her hit TV show “Designing Women.”

Awful.

Same weather we had today when SARAH!!! dropped by our little hamlet of Ashland, VA for an unannounced visit to talk to a local business owner. It was crap for weather and we all knew there would be no public speech, nothing other than an opportunity to show support.

Well, there were well over a thousand. I’m thinking over 2,000 for this show of support.

I’m proud of Hanover County. I’m glad that we tied up traffic in the liberal town of Ashland. They were astonished at the outpouring, I’m sure.

But, I could no more condemn the town of Ashland than I could my old County of Hanover, Virgina.

Soaked to the bone. Just got a wave from Sarah and Todd. But I’m satisfied.

Yes. I thought it was weird. He said, “$250,000″ the next time and it all just floated on by, a disappearing mirage. McCain did miss a good one, but he had a lot on his plate.

Personally, I get a kick out of his ever-changing “95% of _____ will get a tax cut”. That phrase went through the whole process, from ‘Americans’, to ‘American families’, to ‘American working families’, to ‘working Americans’. I think those are 4 different groups and the 95% figure would be highly unlikely invariant of the tax analysis … but that BHO is one smart cookie … heh. Then I heard a BHO advisor talking about ’95% of small business will get a tax break’. Too funny. At least they aren’t using imaginary numbers, yet.

Might I add that the Obambo “Look at Me” half-hour extravaganza will not be broadcast on ABC; he decided not to buy time there even though it was available.

Why? Because the campaign just discovered an urgent need for that money elsewhere to desperately shore-up a crumbling effort.

It’s over for Oborg, he just doesn’t know it yet.

a mind that is thoughtful, curious, with a discernable pattern of associative thinking and insight.

She’ll see right through phonies and backstabbers. She’ll ignore writers. She’ll influence the President. When underlings try to undermine her, she’s just liable to fire their @sses. Then there’s all that icky right and wrong stuff. So gauche in this pragmatic world. Like shooting moose.

In a nutshell, that’s why the northeastern entrenchagensia is terrified of her.

Feedie on October 27, 2008 at 11:52 PM

Bingo, you win a free pew.

The inner numbers are different and are scaring the shiite out of the Obambo camp.

Look how hard they and their media whores are trying to convince everyone that the result has been pre-ordained; the acceptance venue going overboard on glitz, the half-hour speech on thursday, the supposed trillions of democrats who are voting early, blah blah blah.

It’s a facade of epic proportions and they know it, McPalin is going to grab states which will surprise the crap out of a whole slew of people, and the media will be caught dead in the water.

The more that Obarfy tightens his grip, the more states that slip through his fingers.

Bishop on October 27, 2008 at 11:39 PM

Don’t forget that CNN has spent the last three days pushing a tale about how there is this massive schism going on inside the McCain campaign because Palin has supposedly gone rogue on McCain’s staffers and that she is behaving like some sort of political Diva. (mind you their only proof of this are some unnamed sources within the campaign yet they continue to report the storey as fact)

DaveC on October 28, 2008 at 12:00 AM

Well how on earth is someone supposed to be successful in her line of work if only the people that spend time with her are impressed by her? She needs to convince those that will never meet her that she is impressive…has she?

ernesto on October 27, 2008 at 10:43 PM

You might have a point, if we lived in world were the Left was composed of people who were intellectually honest and open-minded about their political opposites.

But we don’t live in that world. Rather, we live in a world where the Left is composed primarily of obstinate, intractable crybabies who are committed to being absolutely unreachable.

These are the same leftists who have been shrieking about how George W. Bush failed to unite them, even though they never had any intention of allowing him the slightest opportunity, even as he bent over backwards to try and establish a new tone of civility and collegiality.

In short, trying to impress the Left is a waste of time.

Anecdotal but another weird tale from my stop at the local gas station on the way home from work. An immigrant (from that place down south) was getting his change after pumping gas on a prepay. He was happy that his truck took $54.00 to fill up instead of $65. As he got his change he told the store clerk he had told every one of his friends to fill up before that Obama ***** was elected president and gas was $5 a gallon.

Yes…I laughed outloud.

Palin is hope and change, Republican style. She has gotten many off their fannys. Will it be too late? Maybe, maybe not. Seven days to go. Either way we still have a mission….FIGHT. FIGHT the lefties at every turn. In power or out.

Mr. Rash, surely you are familiar with the concept of hyperbole? My overly fawning post was farcical, as was my ridiculous suggestion that you moderate an RPG.

I thought I made clear in previous comments that I value your truly unique contributions ’round these parts. That said, I would probably be defensive, too, if I were in your position. It seems like you are a threat, challenge or object of fascination to many.

I’m doing my part like the libs taught me. I voted absentee in PA already. Then I’m early voting in Hoke County tomorrow after the rally. Then on election day I’m going to vote again in Cumberland Country. I have a stack of fake mail in provisional ballets (just in case it’s close) Man it really feels good to be part of the political process

Decent article on Palin-hatred at TWS

http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/015/720xgfha.asp?pg=2

Being thrust into the middle of a presidential race has of course made things twice as difficult for Palin. The raging bigots of the feminist and atheist left and the snobs of both the right and the left might have learned to temper their reactions if they’d had more of a chance to get used to her – tough I confess I have no sure idea how a longer introduction might have been managed. The feminazis and morally and intellectually slovenly anti-religious bigots like Christopher Hitchens wouldn’t have had so much scurrilous trash and exaggeration supplied to them, and would have felt less motivation to seize upon it and accept unqustioningly it as secular gospel. The conservative elitists might have been encouraged to think more deeply on the subject of American democracy going back to the Founding, perhaps while listening to Aaron Copeland’s “Fanfare for the Common Man” or reciting the poems of Walt Whitman.

When push came to political shove, they still would have rejected her, but fewer of them would have lost all decency, and sought to maintain at least a semblance of reason, civility, and simple good manners. They would have worried a little more about the damage they were doing to their own reputations and to the willingness of their fellow citizens to be considerate of them the next time around.
