Barbara West on Biden reaction: “I question what it bodes for what might happen after the election”; Update: O’Reilly video added

Don’t we all. I’m giving you this in lieu of the vid of her O’Reilly appearance, which was a surprise snoozer. Bill wanted to know if she was as tough today in her interview with McCain as she was on Biden; judge for yourself. Like I said in this weekend’s post, her questions seem framed not to elicit an informative response so much as an irritated reaction. It’s good television — anything that breaks up the usual catatonic recitation of talking points is welcome — but for all the rhetoric here about the importance of getting answers before the votes are cast, she didn’t get much out of either Biden or McCain.
That said, conservative regard for the media is now so low that evenhandedness even in the context of squirm journalism is enough to make her a momentary righty folk hero.
Update: Here’s the O’Reilly clip.

Are we living George Orwell’s Animal Farm? I can’t believe America is going to vote this guy into office. I guess I’ll just have to go out and take care of my family. I feel genuinely sorry for the little guys. They get screwed again and again and again. I’ll survive, but will they?

What are the chances this station is dumb enough to fire this woman and make her and instant hero to the right and Fox News anchor? As dumb as the media is, I would say pretty good odds. When does she get her Worst Person in the World award?

The reality is that the “little guys” are the ones voting for Obama — because they believe the Dem talking points and headlines telling them what a hero that guy is — they are in for a rude awakening.

NOW has yet another strong woman in their sights in need of a good slap.

Barbara West is the modern day kid who shouted, the king is in his altogether.
In an election when the entire MSM was faking it like Dan Rather, she simply stood her ground and did her job.
I’d vote her a Pulitzer and a special Hans Christian Andersen chalice.

Barbara West prepare for you DMV records to be pulled and you trash cans to be dug through. I am sure your co-workers will through you under the bus.

Why is it that Obama is always portrayed so masculine in caricatures? He is such a nancy boy.
carbon_footprint on October 28, 2008 at 12:06 AM
Apologies to nancys and boys everywhere.
carbon_footprint on October 28, 2008 at 12:07 AM
Do not apologize, carbon_footprint, for calling Obama a “nancy boy.” My wife calls Obama a “fancy boy.” The two phrases have the same meaning and are applicable to Obama.
You could never imagine Obama flying a A4-E Skyhawk on combat bombing missions like what John McCain did in Vietnam. McCain was and is a real man.

The questions were absurd but the thing that is shocking is that Biden could have easily addressed them. we just got through 8years of an Administration hallmarked by a hostility to probing questions from the press and it is a very bad sign that the Obama/Biden campaign looks like continuing this undemocratic tradition.

ah, bullcrap. but if so, count me in

This election takes women and blacks back to the 60’s. It really does. think about it. Its like no progress was ever made.

The Obama thought police did a background check on Ms. West…
And they makes villains of the Bush admin for the Patriot Act.

Between just two people, Joe the plumber and West, we can see how Obama treats critics.
He stated at the beginning, the big mistake of Kerry, was not defending aggressively all attacks.
Obama attacks anyone who attacks him, that is his standard and that will be written about after the election is over.
His attacking defense will be, if he wins, the reason he has won.
Nothing slides by without confrontation and denial, and all out attack.

Barrack is a girlie man, and he’s married to James Brown — in drag.
