Video: Palin talks clothes

Jonathan Martin wonders why she’d broach this subject, thereby keeping it alive for another news cycle. The likely answer, per his colleague: Because she had nothing to do with the RNC clothes purchases and is boiling about what it’s done to her image.
[T]he final straw for Palin and her allies was the news that the campaign had reported spending $150,000 on her clothes, turning her, again, into the butt of late-night humor.
“She never even set foot in these stores,” the senior Republican said, noting Palin hadn’t realized the cost when the clothes were brought to her in her Minnesota hotel room.
“It’s completely out-of-control operatives,” said the close ally outside the campaign. “She has no responsibility for that. It’s incredibly frustrating for us and for her.”
McCain defended her this morning on MTP but doubtless he’d like to change the subject. Maybe tomorrow.
The video I really wanted to give you was of her warning Obama not to pop the champagne just yet — “You kinda get the feeling that the Obama campaign thinks this whole election process is just a formality” — but I can’t find it. If you see it somewhere, I’d be grateful for the tip. In lieu of that, you’ll find Hasselbeck’s intro of Palin today below. Exit quotation: “This is deliberately sexist.”

It must be a strange experience for Hasselbeck to be treated with kindness and respect.

I don’t care what anyone says about her.
She’s regular people like us and the elites hate her for it.

From a strategy perspective, the RNC move was pretty dumb. It is symbolic of their mishandling of her. I thought the appeal of this ticket was two mavericks who will go their own way but have the country’s interests first.

Let’s see if I have this straight-
Them MSM dwells on Palin’s wardrobe, while they igore:
* Obama was a Socialist party member in the mid 1990s
* William Ayers
* Obama’s extensive connections to the organization that is trying to steal the election for Obama (ACORN)
* Massive fraud going on in Obama’s campaign fund raising
The faster the MSM goes out of business, the better.

The media, not even Mrs. Palin, should be talking about her clothes. Their/our priorities are scrooomed.

It has nothing to do with strategy, it has to do with the media and The Narrative. If Hillary had won and the DNC had spent that kind of money, it never would have been mentioned.

I don’t know if she even hears insults anymore. I think it might be like white noise at this point.

Team McCain should let her go out Spiro Agnew style… she needs to confront the media with their hypocrisy… read their stories… provide a counter example where they dropped the ball covering Obama or Biden… let the people do the dialectic..

Gov. Palin shops at wall mart. McCain campaign staff shops on 5th Ave. This makes Gov. Palin ‘rogue’.
rockhauler on October 26, 2008 at 5:15 PM
We have the VP candidate of a major political party and the best they can muster is a crappy 150 grand for her wardrobe? On top of that the liberals say that it is bad so the conservatives beat each other up to see who can throw themselves first on the media sword. How about we do a little thinking for ourselves rather then let the MSM and liberals dictate how we should think. We deserve to lose because we are losers. But hey that’s cool I’d much rather have a stinker that spent 5.3 mil for a stage production anyway. At least they know how to promote their candidate.

Question: If Obama loses the election, will he allow McCain to use his pre-planned Chicago party pad?

Joe Biden is a man dedicated to woman’s issues. Along with fighting at the risk of his own salvation for them to murder their unwanted children, he’s a really big tipper back at Cathy’s diner, and pumps gas for the ladies at the filling station over the weekend while he’s hanging out to learn about domestic issues.
What a guy!

If I were Palin, I’d use it one more day to say, whether she wins or loses, the clothes will be put up for sale on EBay and the money given to a good cause, something that can never be said by the Obama campaign about either 2,000 American flags or a 5.3 million dollar stage to his own vanity.

Yes, even San Francisco, California is “real” America. There are even some Republicans there. Just like there are liberals in big conservative areas. So just stop saying it.

If anyone should know how insufferable liberals are, Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) should, after living in Boston and Seattle for all those years!
As for Cliff (John Ratzenberger), he started a foundation called the Nuts, Bolts and Thingamajigs Foundation, whose mission is to “Give children tools and watch them build America.” I think he’s also got a show that runs on National Geographic about occupations in the trades. I think his dad was a trademan, and Ratzenberger sees it as a dying aspect in the country.
They should pair Joe the Plumber with Ratzenberger and Todd Palin for the final week.

Terrie, I saw the Fox live broadcast of this speech or the one in Kissimmenee (not sure if Tampa and Kiss are the same one)and right when she was done they started playing this song. When does Team Sarah come out with its calendar? Palin, Hassleback, Cindy McCain, Jeri Thompson, Janine Turner. Others. Nothing racy–just fully clothed, knock-your-socks off conservative women.
It’d have to beat the competing calendar of Michelle Obama, Claire McCaskill (cringe!), Nancy Pelosi (even with all the work), and Andrea Mitchell.

Me, too. She’s the first politician I can remember who actually gets “it” – “it” being real life, the kind that the rest of us live. She’s actually had to balance the family checkbook, without a trust fund or rich relative to pad the account.
I keep reading, mostly from left-leaning media outlets, that “sources inside the McCain campaign” think choosing Sarah Palin is the reason McCain is doing so poorly in the polls. I want to state this for the record – BULLS***. If she had been turned loose early on, if McCain hadn’t been so concerned about “offending” Obama in the beginning, and if the Republicans had hammered on Obama’s past, his shady dealings and questionable alliances…THAT would have made a difference. Blaming the VP nominee just glosses over the parts that McCain’s campaign doesn’t want to address. The main point is, we haven’t lost YET. It’s too early for finger pointing and name calling.
