Video: “Wassup 2008″

posted at 2:00 pm on October 25, 2008 by Allahpundit
Share on Facebook | regular view

Released yesterday, it’s already number three on YouTube with 400,000+ views. This site claims the cast is the same; if so, the first guy has aged really badly.

Man, I can’t wait until Obama’s elected and there are no more wars or financial crises.

Spotted this a few hours ago; nearly Emailed the link but figured it’d end up here

I got’s to say I did find it pretty funny, although as soon as I saw what made him smile on the TV I just thought ‘dammit, you just had to put politics into it..’

So just clip off the last 15 odd seconds and I can still enjoy it.

Reaps on October 25, 2008 at 2:03 PM

Yeah, because that guy will suddenly have painkillers, the market will rebound, there’ll be no more war, and that guy will get his house and a job when Obama takes over. Are they on crack?

amerpundit on October 25, 2008 at 2:07 PM

the end is near…

Black man in a noose? RAAAACCCIIISSTTT!!!

And the hurricane outside? Definitely McCain’s fault.

Big whoop, we lost the dumb-ass vote.

ThePrez on October 25, 2008 at 2:10 PM

Man, I can’t wait until Obama’s elected and there are no more wars or financial crises.

Or hurricanes, apparently.

Terrie on October 25, 2008 at 2:11 PM

Palate cleanser.

This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word “victory” except when he’s talking about his own campaign. But when the cloud of rhetoric has passed … when the roar of the crowd fades away … when the stadium lights go out, and those Styrofoam Greek columns are hauled back to some studio lot – what exactly is our opponent’s plan? What does he actually seek to accomplish, after he’s done turning back the waters and healing the planet? The answer is to make government bigger … take more of your money … give you more orders from Washington … and to reduce the strength of America in a dangerous world.

–’Cuda, RNC Speech

EXACTLY how I felt/feel. Spot on my man.

nickj116 on October 25, 2008 at 2:15 PM

Obama’s gonna stop hurricanes, too? Wow.

Regarding the vid: America sucks, right guys? Imagine a bunch of college-age guys growing up and having to face the fact that they can’t sit around drinking Bud all day anymore and have to actually pay the mortgage they signed and leave town when the weather guy says a hurricane is coming and pay for their own Tylenol and actually fight and face danger when they voluntarily sign up for military service. The implication is that if they vote for Obama, they’ll get to go back to watchin’ the game and drinkin’ a Bud all the time again, with not a worry in the world. Ha ha ha.

And according to that video, no more hurricanes either.

There’s no escaping the relentless drumbeats for Osama Obama.

Makes me want to vomit.

Makes me realize that the American way of life is probably just about over.

By the way, when you first see the dude in the hurricane, don’t even try to tell me that’s not funny. My ribs hurt I was laughing so hard.

Drunken-Slackers-Who-Don’t-Want-to-Grow-Up for Obama!

I wonder if the Obama campaign will design a special little “O” logo for this group of supporters, like they made special little icons for all the other groups they appeal to?

It was disappointing when they didn’t design a special icon for Liberal-Sluts-Who-Will-Sleep-with-Anyone-Wearing-an-Obama-Button after that web ad that came out a few months ago showing the liberal slut running away from the McCain supporter and into the arms of a complete stranger wearing an Obama button. Why didn’t the Liberal Sluts for Obama get an icon?

aero on October 25, 2008 at 2:26 PM

It’s all fun and games until someone loses their liberty.

aero on October 25, 2008 at 2:45 PM

Eh. Sorta funny, but pretty much what you’d expect. But then, I’m not the target demographic. When I see a bunch of guys at home during the day and I think, “why aren’t they working?”

At least the creators resisted the lefty impulse to show the soldier guy committing acts of terror against innocent Iraqis.

Infidoll on October 25, 2008 at 2:46 PM

Couldn’t decide whether to laugh or puke. I thought about laughing until I puked, but it wasn’t that funny. I did like the part where the guy is trying to kill himself because his stock portfolio is supposed to be down so much – great metaphor for electing Obama.

How many Obama supporters who are center right thinkers but don’t understand anything about politics or government are going to be killing themselves in the next four years, I wonder? If he gets in, I’ll bet it’s a lot.

Jaibones on October 25, 2008 at 2:49 PM

I actually liked it. It was creative and funny. Although I never knew that Obama had the ability to stop hurricanes, but whatever.

SoulGlo on October 25, 2008 at 2:59 PM

The irony, of course, is that an Obama presidency could well be a sign of the coming apocalypse — not that he is the Antichrist, mind you, but perhaps The One who paves the way — guaranteeing that there will be more wars, rumors of wars, worsening financial crises, more hurricanes/earthquakes/tsunamis/fires/plagues/epidemics, ad nauseam.

Terrie on October 25, 2008 at 2:59 PM

Too late. Marked my sample ballot already and I’m too lazy to change it.

Bob's Kid on October 25, 2008 at 3:37 PM

It’s nice that they could take some raw “Inside the Obama Campaign” documentary footage, and make a campaign commercial out of it.

RBMN on October 25, 2008 at 3:46 PM

Wait, it’s been 8 YEARS already since that commercial?

I feel very, very old.

Grr. Good choice, putting in that Anheuser-Busch disclaimer at the end, before I had to say “conflict of interest.” Still think I’ll drop an email, though, in case there’s a copyright of some kind involved.

What a way to defile a beer and game moment! And I am a GIRL! This should be destroyed on tampering with beer and game viewing violations alone!

Looks like they took THE MESSIAH’S words as being “true” when he said he could heal the planet and cause the seas to recede! LMAO!

I’m betting they start doing their own videos again, with Obama-Biden ‘08 spots Rick-Rolled into them.

“Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren, till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation?”
– Patrick Henry, “Liberty or death” speech, March 23, 1775

As Hugh Hewitt said on Friday,

“We are in a recession. A McCain victory means a short and shallow recession. An Obama win means a long and perhaps deep decline in economic activity.

“If your retirement plan has plummeted and you want your money back.

“If you suspect your home is worth less than it was in September and you want the old value back.

“If you wonder what careers will be open to your children and your grandchildren, and whether the country’s military and national government will work to keep those children and grandchildren safe, and you want assurances on both counts.

“Then you have to vote for John McCain.”
