Quotes of the day
posted at 10:00 pm on October 25, 2008 by Allahpundit
“These people are going to try and shred her after the campaign to divert blame from themselves… A number of Gov. Palin’s staff have not had her best interests at heart, and they have not had the campaign’s best interests at heart.”
*
“She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone. She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else.
Also, she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: Divas trust only unto themselves, as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom.”
*
“If you measure tension as the interaction between principles and staff who actually have some authority and are trying to win the election, then we’re fine. If you want to report based on the musings and resentments of hangers on and people who like to pretend they’re in the know then you can probably come up with anything.”

Alternate viewpoints? If I want the daily talking points I can visit any one of a number of lefty sites, or I can watch any number of talking heads on TV, it is not as if your ilk are not everywhere. You have nothing original to say.

I just discovered — news to me, anyway — that there is a PUMA affiliate calling themselves Native Americans Against Obama. They are all over YouTube, too.
Hmmm. Interesting that Obama makes his Tonto joke in the Southwest. Perhaps another Freudian “lipstick on a pig” or “acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree” slip?

Terrye, mywhatacoward HAS to come here, his own blog only gets about six visitors a day. He’s lonely.

But I have to admit, mycowardice gets better treatment here than I ever got on a lefty site. I got tired of my comments being deleted or being called all sorts of names. I have never been fond of abuse. I get some people kind of get off on that kind of thing.

This election was lost due to the following:
1) Bush becoming a spendthrift Dem-wannabe.
2) Bush overextending the military in a NON-conservative move of nation-building rather than a conservative approach to taking down Sadam and leaving another Sunni in charge of the country.
3) The MSM completely in the tank for Obama.
4) McCain being an older and not as good a TV person for the debates.
5) Mishandling by team McCain of the rollout of Palin. They should have made top priority of getting Sarah up on national issues AND let her get out more like she is now and hold off on the ambush issues with the Obama media.
6) BIGGEST: The 3rd quarter recession including rising unemployment combined with the monstrous mortgage meltdown scandal.
Of these, the biggest are the mortgage meltdown with the economy and the MSM being the 4th branch of goverment for Obama. George Bush’s complete failure of understanding that his job is to strengthen the Republican Party as its leader is important but sort of before the campaigns really got started.

Oh please, yeah that would work. Go in kill Saddam and put another dictator in charge.
I don’t think so. That sort of thing has kind of blown up in our faces before.
And I don’t think it is fair to just blame the spending on Bush being some Demwannabe. If it had not been for 9/11, there would have been no trillion dollar loss after the attack, no Homeland Security, it is unlikely that we would have had two wars to fight, and a lot of other things would have been different.
And Congress has a lot to do with that spending too. When Democrats took over in 2006 the deficit was about $153 billion, it is more than twice that now and the American people seem ready to vote for a Democrat who wants to spend a trillion dollars on a national health care system.

Bush practiced by shooting down the Marshall football team’s plane back in 1970, utilizing a military jet he stole while a member of the ANG.

Did I fall into a rift in the time-space continuum and come out on November 5 in a parallel Obamaverse or something? Because, when I last checked my calendar, it’s still October 25. That means that this election is not lost! And people here are already writing post-mortems. Jeez…how many of ya’ll remember “The Drive?” If you’re a Denver Broncos fan then I know you do and if you’re a Cleveland Browns fan, it’s a memory you’d just as soon forget. Or the Buffalo Bills overcoming a massive half-time deficit to beat the Houston Oilers. The only ones who gain from this are the Obamabots watching and laughing at you. Now, do you really want to give them the satisfaction?
Remember John Paul Jones: I have not yet begun to fight!
Or Stephen Decatur: My country, may she always be right, but right or wrong–my country!
Or Knute Rockne: Yes, I know that you feel you are not strong enough. That’s what the enemy thinks too. But we’re gonna fool them.
Now…let’s go out and win one for the Gipper!

Thanks for that article. Just spent a good 30 minutes reading the comments, a majority of them Democrats voting McCain and explaining why. Would love to go to bed thinking this is true. (great stories about “secret gatherings” and such in places like Oregon where to put a McCain/Palin sign in your yard would ensure a house egging). If this election is lost, and that’s not a certainty, then the ‘blame’ is not on Sarah Palin. I’ll fight tooth-and-nail anyone who tries to hunt with that lame dawg.
If this election is lost, look no further than media manipulation. One cannot play chess if one’s pieces are constantly being moved by the opposing side when one isn’t looking. The sad fact is, we knew it was coming, and failed to watch.
How were we supposed to watchdog the media, you ask? Well, choosing an exciting candidate might have made the difference. Baracky was and is exciting to media. Sarah is too, but media had already chosen Baracky, so we were a bit late. McCain’s choice may yet pay off, if they lose this one.
Next time, we’ll need more exciting candidates. Jindal/Palin, or vs.vs.
And some more better journalists.

Only those that Fox needs more than they need Fox still behave rationally… Brit Hume, Megyn Kelly, Hannity. It will be interesting to see if Beck changes his tune on Fox to move left or right.

Good point about how the deficit took off AFTER the Dems took control of Congress. I still think Bush could have done more to fight Pelosi and Reid. He seems to have given up or maybe he is just tired. Being the POTUS seems to age people quickly. And yes, nobody can blame Bush for 9/11. In fact, I’m VERY happy that Gore was NOT POTUS when 9/11 hit, VERY.

Someone needs to go down to the McCain campaign central headquarters and beat into all the campaign staff the mantra of
Admit Nothing, Deny everything, And Make Counter Accusations
for when they are dealing with the press.
Besides McCain is a Navy man so those staffers spinning crap to the press better watch out because if they get caught McCain will likely keel haul them, make them walk the plank or let the cat out of the bag. (if you don’t know what that last one means try looking it up).

I remember Bush vetoing that farm bill and his fellow Republicans crossing over to vote with Pelosi and Reid on the over ride. The Congress is a co-equal branch of government. Well, WHOSE FAULT IS THAT???
Its not Palin’s fault that she was clearly unready and unqualified to be Veep. A blind man could see that.
It was McCain’s first “presidential decision” and it was a doozy. If that decision was a sign of the types of decisions that he would make as president, maybe we are better off with a socialist like Obama. Maybe McCain would attack Russia and kill us all or something. Frankly, although I will vote for him, he does creep me out. He is too militaristic, hates the conservatives in his party, and basically cheated to get the nomination.

Then according to your logic, we should research anyone who asks a question of our elected officials…………. I agree………
………… let’s start with the Main Stream Media, what political party they belong to, how much money they have donated to either campaign, and who they intend to vote for.

The source is a bringing-candidates-up-to-speed-on-foreign-policy-historian, no doubt.
What a load of manure. These stories are written for 12-year-olds.

maybe we are better off with a socialist like Obama. Maybe McCain would attack Russia and kill us all or something.
Or maybe Mac will throw us all into gulags, or enslave all left-handed bowlers, or develop a weapon which can destroy the moon, or even (fill in your own wild theory here) x_______________!
Yeah, maybe Mac would attack Russia and get us all killed. Maybe socialist Obarky would defund the military to the point that Russia attacks us instead.
Maybe you need to quit bouncing up and down like the jittery crackhead you are and get some professional help.

I’ve learned to click on the link see who the source is and then depending on who it is I either read or hit the back button. So:
Politico… back button
CNN…back button
Atlantic…back button
Why should I let those sources try to demoralize me with their lies and tactics? Why would I believe people who aren’t close to the camnpaign and are trying to stir up dissension where there is none in order to suppress the vote. So now the latest meme or astroturf is to start saying the race is lost, they know it and the blame game has started.
Meanwhile Palin and McCain were at 3 or 4 functions todays and over 60 thousand enthusiatic people went to see them. O has to have an event in a city he already has that is next door to the state he lives in and still has to have people bused in so that he can say 100k people came to see him. What a joke.
I have absolutely no doubt that McCain\Palin will win. We might not get the final tally until later depending on the margin of their win but they will win. I got one more person to swtich today and it wans’t even that hard. She said there is just too much to swallow now…

Nothing like a tale on the coming All Hallows Eve whilst looking into the possible abyss to come…………
……… sends shivers up your spin, doesn’t it, but who doesn’t like a little scare now and then.
But this shit…………… time to look the devil in the eyes and say fornicate yourself you son of a female dog.
