Comedy gold: WFTV interviews Biden

posted at 1:00 pm on October 25, 2008 by Allahpundit

Each question is funnier than the last, culminating with, “Are you forewarning Americans that nothing will be done and that America’s days as the world’s leading power are over?” As if he might say, “Sure.” She probably figured she was in for the same old talking points everyone’s heard from both sides umpteen thousand times by now, so she might as well shoot for viral video immortality by making him squirm. Mission accomplished. On to the petty campaign revenge!

Oh, his claim that Team Barry hasn’t paid a penny to ACORN for GOTV efforts? Highly nuanced.

“This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election,” wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign.

McGinnis said the Biden cancellation was “a result of her husband’s experience yesterday during the satellite interview with Barbara West.”

Here’s a link to the interview: http://www.wftv.com/video/17790025/index.html.

WFTV news director Bob Jordan said, “When you get a shot to ask these candidates, you want to make the most of it. They usually give you five minutes.”

Jordan said political campaigns in general pick and choose the stations they like. And stations often pose softball questions during the satellite interviews.

“Mr. Biden didn’t like the questions,” Jordan said. “We choose not to ask softball questions.”

Jordan added, “I’m crying foul on this one.”

This is a real story. If the Obama Campaign would have just taken their lumps on the interview and let it die, everything would have just moved on likely.

But, I think this email they sent is a clear indicator of how they seem to have the attitude that they are above questioning. That anyone who dares to ask tough questions will be punished. Joe the Plumber found out. Now WFTV has found out.

Ripped from a future headline;

All interviews will be sanctioned and orchestrated by the Ministry of Truth or it is crimethink.

That was a sh*t interview. She might as well flashed the McCain letterhead on the paper she was reading the questions from. Of course the reporter had an agenda. And that’s fine, just don’t try to deny it, clown.

This is THE socialist attitude. How far into the Obama presidency before tax evaders are taken out back and shot? Oviously there’s very little tolerance for non-players in their political game. Gird yourself America, these dogs are about to be set loose.

America, BEWARE.
I can’t believe that your country is actually about to do this. Fascism, socialism, hell, does Bambam even know what the hell he wants? As socialist as you all think Canada is, I have to say, I don’t recall any politician ever freezing out a news outlet or getting damaging information on a private citizen just because they didn’t like the question. Thank God we voted in a Conservative so as not to have the entire continent go to hell in a few months…

My local news station just announced that there will be a “no tolerance” policy by local law enforcement regarding rioting following the results of the election in the event John McCain wins.

Notice what’s missing here folks? No problem if Obama wins because we are a peaceful and law abiding voting block; the problem is only with the Liberal voting block.

VIDEO INTERVIEW: BARBARA BITCHSLAPS BOTOXED BIDEN’S BOLD FACED BULLSH*T
As soon as the chief plagiarist opens his mouth the lies come projectile vomiting out. Check out this video with CHANNEL 9 WFTV, with Barbara West, who BTW is magnificent. Now that’s a reporter! Refreshing to see media do their job. Big thanks to Mark for dropping it in the comment section.

Watch the video here: updated: HERE IT IS AT YOU TUBE

West hits the ground running and kicks off by asking Biden, aren’t you embarrassed by the blatant attempts to register phony voters by ACORN an organization that Barack Obama has been tied to.

BIDEN BOLD FACED LIE: First lie, we have not paid ACORN one single penny. I am not embarrassed by our ties to ACORN. There is no relationship. We have not paid one single penny to register one single voter.

When pressed on Obama’s relationship with ACORN Biden said, how has he been a benefactor ACORN? He was an organizer for ACORN.

BIDEN BOLD FACED LIE: C’MON let’s get real here!” (yes he actually said that )

FACT: Obama’s campaign paid ACORN $800,000 (more here)

Watch him try to tie McCain to ACORN, because he went to a dinner …….amazing.

West goes onto quiz the clownish Biden about recent polls that showed that 84% of Americans prefer government focus to improving economic conditions to help job creation not resdistribute the wealth.

West: Isnt Obama’s remark about redistributing the wealth a “crushing political blunder”.

BIDEN BOLD FACED LIE: “Absolutely not! The only person thas spread the wealth the around has been George Bush and John McCain’s tax policy” lol, no no he actually said this with an attempted botoxed frown

Kill the tax cut!

West: “From each according to his abilties to each according to his need, that’s Karl Marx. How is Obama not being a Marxist if he intends to spread the wealth around?” [I love this woman! - Atlas]

BOLD FACED LIAR BIDEN: “Are your joking? Is This A Joke?????” Is that a real question?”

West: That’s a real question.

BIDEN BOLD FACED LIE: HE IS NOT SPREADING THE WEALTH. We are going to give the middle class the tax breaks they used to have. [huh? Like what? Under Clinton ? Like the 28% capital gains tax?]

West: Questions Biden about these remarks:

“Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama …

“Remember I said it standing here. if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. And he’s gonna have to make some really tough — I don’t know what the decision’s gonna be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it’s gonna happen,”

West went on to say what worried many people was Biden’s caveat asking them to stand with Obama because it won’t be apparent initially that he’s right. Are you forewarning Americans THAT nothing will be done and America’days as the world’s leading pwoer is over?

BIDEN BOLD FACED LIE: “NO, I am not at all. I don’t know who is writing your questions?” And then goes on to say America ‘s position is weakened in the world. We are stretched thin! We are in economic free fall! McCain was wrong on Iraq ! [uh, the surge]

[I don't know about you -- but I don't believe that for one second. America is the greatest. Period. Weakened my ass. Weakened only by our internal enemies, traitors, moochers, looters, commies, leftards, America haters, socialists, et al - Atlas]

West then gets back to the spreading the wealth question, what does he think of the concern that Obama would want to turn this country into a socialist nation, much like Sweden?

BIDEN BOLD FACED FACE LIE: I don’t know anyone that thinks that except the extreme right wing of the Republican party. [lol - Atlas]

You must sent this video around. It’s priceless.

Only in the an upside down, where good is evil and evil is good world would Biden be considered a good choice and Palin a less than stellar choice.

And Bless Barbara West. She ought to be a network anchor. FOX news, call your office (me thinks FOX won’t hire a woman over the age of 30).

UPDATE: The giant pussy party ….. and these guys are going to take on Ahmad Nijad? lol (hat tip Jim?

Why did Barack Obama’s campaign cancel a WFTV-Channel 9 interview with Jill Biden, wife of Sen. Joe Biden? The campaign cited “an unprofessional interview” WFTV’s Barbara West did Thursday with Joe Biden. In a statement Friday, Adrianne Marsh, Florida spokeswoman for Obama’s campaign, said the station, in talking with Sen. Biden, was “both combative and woefully uninformed about simple facts.” Marsh said West’s insistence that Obama was an organizer for ACORN was “100 percent false.” “In a line of questioning that would make Rush Limbaugh proud, West even went as far as to quote Karl Marx, a Communist icon, in a disturbing attempt to associate Barack Obama with socialism,” Marsh wrote. West said, “I think I asked him some pointed questions. . . . I don’t think I was rude or inconsiderate to him.” (here

98fromCA on October 26, 2008 at 4:17 PM

I noticed Biden had a new meme on why we would be tested.

“We’ll be tested because we’re stretched too thin around the world.”

Obama has made it clear that that he will rip off his white boxers and wave them in surrender in Iraq and leave ASAP. He says he will move then to Afghanistan, but we have not heard of a real plan if he does. Unfortunately he cannot just up and run tail from Afghanistan like he can in Iraq because we are there as part of the NATO treaty. Until he can break that the troops and cost will be kept to a minimum. He plans to close more than half of our military bases around the world, and then cut the defense budget in half while eliminating our nuclear deterrent ability. It looks doubtful that we will be engaging in any new military actions, except perhaps to make sure that we stay in line. In case anyone has forgotten, Clinton used the military in Waco. As Biden said, we have to stand with Obama because it is not going to be apparent initially that he is right. In short, the American people are not going to like what he is doing, but there is little we can do about it but accept the outcome, and of course then agree with him.

OT

Demand The US Justice Department tell US Attorney General Mukasey to
investigate and reach a conclusion on voter fraud in this 2008 election NOW.

WHY:

Obama is not only perpetrating voter fraud on a vast scale, Obama and his
campaign are now trying to pressure the Department of Justice from
investigating voter fraud prior to the election!

WHAT:
We must all take immediate action by doing the following, and we MUST get
the following message out to ALL the blogs/sites we can, AND to EVERYONE
on our email lists!

HOW:
1) Send an email to US Attorney General Mukasey like this one I wrote and sent
yesterday. You can copy and paste this one if that is convenient for you:

Dear Attorney General Mukasey,

It takes my breath away that Senator Barack Obama is trying to pressure you
and the United States Department of Justice into waiting until the 2008
Presidential election is over before you investigate allegations of widespread
voter fraud. It’s believed that hundreds of thousands, if not millions of voters
have been illegally registered all across the country. As a citizen of the United
States of America, I am outraged that one of the candidates in this election is
attempting to interfere with the carrying out of correct and proper justic prior to
the election on November 4th. To investigate voter fraud after the election is
over would be stupid and pointless. My civil rights as a US citizen are being
violated—my guarantee to being able to vote in a FAIR and TRUTHFUL
election—and I expect YOU, Attorney General Mukasey, to carry out YOUR
sworn obligation to protect and to defend MY civil rights, and to MAKE SURE
the 2008 Presidential election is FAIR and ABOVE BOARD.

I am appalled and disgusted that Barack Obama has the audacity and the gaul
to try to stall an investigation by the highest law enforcement agency in the land!
I EXPECT you to ignore him and to CARRY OUT your sworn DUTY
IMMEDIATELY—BEFORE, NOT AFTER, the November 4th, 2008 election is
over!

Yours sincerely,

As far as Barbara’s follow ups, I thought this was a perfect example of “less is more”. Let Greasy Joe speak. The guy came off as a lying sack of crap.

She only had four minutes in which to ask her questions. She did a great job of asking tough questions and letting him try and lie his way around them. Great job, but I worry about he future career under Obama. Liberals always respond with smear and destroy agendas.
I did a web search of what liberals were saying about her. Most said that she was unfair, combative, unprofessional, amoung other things. What I found most interesting was the quotes. They usually left off parts of hers that did not support the image that they wanted to project, but more intersting was the fact that most only quoted Biden saying? “Is that a Joke” and almost always nothing of his answers, if any at all.

This is the transcript of the 2001 Obama Redistribution of Wealth audio, courtesy Perdogg on the Sean Hannity board (I haven’t proofread it but it looks like it’s an accurate portrayal):

TRANSCRIPT:
MODERATOR: Good morning and welcome to Odyssey on WBEZ Chicago 91.5 FM and we’re joined by Barack Obama who is Illinois State Senator from the 13th district and senior lecturer in the law school at the University of Chicago.

OBAMA: If you look at the victories and failures of the civil rights movement and its litigation strategy in the court, I think where it succeeded was to vest formal rights in previously dispossessed peoples. So that I would now have the right to vote, I would now be able to sit at the lunch counter and order and as long as I could pay for it I’d be okay.
But the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society. And to that extent as radical as people tried to characterize the Warren court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as it’s been interpreted, and the Warren court interpreted it in the same way that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. It says what the states can’t do to you, it says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf. And that hasn’t shifted. One of the I think tragedies of the civil rights movement was because the civil rights movement became so court focused, I think that there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributed change and in some ways we still suffer from that.

MODERATOR: Let’s talk with Karen. Good morning, Karen, you’re on Chicago Public Radio.

KAREN: Hi. The gentleman made the point that the Warren court wasn’t terribly radical with economic changes. My question is, is it too late for that kind of reparative work economically and is that that the appropriate place for reparative economic work to take place – the court – or would it be legislation at this point?

OBAMA: Maybe I’m showing my bias here as a legislator as well as a law professor, but I’m not optimistic about bringing about major redistributive change through the courts. The institution just isn’t structured that way.
You just look at very rare examples during the desegregation era the court was willing to for example order changes that cost money to a local school district. The court was very uncomfortable with it. It was very hard to manage, it was hard to figure out. You start getting into all sorts of separation of powers issues in terms of the court monitoring or engaging in a process that essentially is administrative and takes a lot of time.
The court’s just not very good at it and politically it’s very hard to legitimize opinions from the court in that regard. So I think that although you can craft theoretical justifications for it legally. Any three of us sitting here could come up with a rational for bringing about economic change through the courts.

I, for one, can’t even imagine how anyone could think to look to the Courts to redistribute wealth. That is just an absolutely INSANE prospect, to begin with. Taxing people at 90% (eventually) is one thing, but having courts order wealth to be redistributed is just … crazy.

Hey reshas1…
I took you advice and sent my letter to the A.G.
It read:

Mr. Attorney General,
I believe it is incumbent upon your office to rigorously investigate the allegations of illegal voter registrations across the country immediately. To delay this action would be to deny constitutional guarantees to every American of free and fair elections. There is very strong evidence, indeed proof, that an untold number of unqualified, non-existent, and repeat voters are being registered in many states. This ominous trend seems to be concentrating on key battleground states in the presidential elections so as to determine the outcome of the election and supress the legitimate vote of all Americans. We, the American people, are taking notice and will not just let this matter drop and go on with our lives. We will pursue justice until it is finally served and I would not want to see any governmental department embarassed or discredited by not acting in a timely manner, (i.e. within the small window of opportunity we have to negate the effects of any illegal activity). Thank you sincerely for your time.

Goodeye_Closed on October 27, 2008 at 11:27 AM

Did anyone else notice that Biden did not counter the remark that Obama is Marxist?

Biden said Obama is not redistributing the wealth. Well Obama said he wanted to redistribute the wealth. But here Biden’s brain went dizzy, he was denying then Obama’s desire to redistribute; something we ourselves hear Obama tell Joe the Plumber.

So it remains, and explains the cancellations by the Obama campaign for any additional interviews on this same TV station, Obama is a Marxist.

Let’s elect John McCain and Sarah Palin.

That was the first thing I noticed about Uncle Joe’s discomfort. I’ve always noticed that when most people lie, they laugh or smirk, trying to offhandedly dismiss the truthful point someone is making.
