I don’t believe McCain would pull a Gore. He’ll take the same route Nixon took over the Chicago vote in 1960.

I think the market is going to close up today and begin to rally…got some of that Manlyrash optimism working…

Seems to me that 8000 is the bottom.

joepub on October 24, 2008 at 10:39 AM

I hope you're right about the bottom.

But, I'd expect Wall Street to be holding its collective breath for now. No huge movements in the next two weeks.

When they find out whether next year's Capital Gains tax is going to be going way up or perhaps going down (i.e. when they find out who wins the Presidency) THEN there will be a big move, one way or the other.

LOL. Yep! Nobody, but nobody, could jump around like a cat on a hot tin roof and throw a tumbling brick 60 yards like Tarkington. The man was a fighter.

You're right on there JB. Probably saved me thousands in not bettin over the years. Still like to bet, but usually small stuff like old Raider's jock straps, (old Stabler to Belitnikoff fan)

Jets fans, all living in Shingle Springs, Ca at the time—-who’d a thunk it. I was giving 10-1 odds. Hell, they didn’t even hardly use point spreads back then. I still remember Emmerson Boozer just killin’ the Colts line.

Man...10-1 odds? And $160 I'm sure was a lot of money back then...especially for a kid in high school!

There has to be such a big lead for McCain in Pennsylvania that even all the fraudulent votes in Philly can't overcome it. That's how Daschle lost his seat in South Dakota -- there were so many votes the Democrats knew they couldn't manufacture enough believable votes from the Indian reservations, so they gave up.

Here in Colorado I had my training to be a poll watcher. The room was packed with volunteers, totally packed, and this is in Boulder County which is so liberal you can get high just taking the city bus. The turnout on the Republican side is going to be huge.

I predict the tolling of the bell marking the end of Obama will be when Maine goes for McCain on election night.

I hear you, but Crist has some baggage and would not have excited the base the way Palin has…it doesn’t matter now.

joepub on October 24, 2008 at 10:48 AM

I dunno...I believe the "base" would still be for McCain when polled. And the Mav would certainly have more support from independents and undecideds. I do agree tho that Crist must have some "Baggage" that became evident during the vetting process.

I don’t know your age, but if you’d seen the caliber of players the Colts had that year, it should have been like the Pats in their peak playin’ against a division three college team. The Colts were over-confident, just like the liberals and Obama.

Namath and “his boys” on both offense and defense played the perfect game.

Rovin on October 24, 2008 at 10:54 AM

I'll be 29 *shudder* next month...but yeah, I rewatch that Superbowl quite often. The Colts were heavy favorites, and Namath's "guarantee" was out there for sure at the time. Heh, who took the bet with you, a bookie or Jets fans?

I dunno…I believe the “base” would still be for McCain when polled. And the Mav would certainly have more support from independents and undecideds. I do agree tho that Crist must have some “Baggage” that became evident during the vetting process.

I don’t know your age, but if you’d seen the caliber of players the Colts had that year, it should have been like the Pats in their peak playin’ against a division three college team. The Colts were over-confident, just like the liberals and Obama.

Namath and “his boys” on both offense and defense played the perfect game.

I wish McCain and Palin were screaming this at the top of their lungs. A problem, however, is that too many in the country are financially illiterate. That's how the Democrats so easily screwed up with Fannie and Freddie. And yet McCain seems too stupid to turn this on the Dems. I think he sunk his own ship with his idiotic instincts to be bipartisan when the sh*t hit the fan.

I hear you, but Crist has some baggage and would not have excited the base the way Palin has...it doesn't matter now.

Florida should never have been in play to begin with. He will still eek out a victory there though

Win PA, win the Election. Plain and simple.

Unfortunately, McCain needs more than just Pennsylvania to win. I'll still say, Gov. Crist would have put Florida solidly in McCain's side.
