Rats abandoning ship...

Rats (vermin) carry diseases or parasites that harbor diseases. First they brought their disease (big government, pro-choice, big tent, etc.) policies and ideas, telling us that we *had* to back McCain (RINO) and casting out the true conservatives. But then, when their RINO candidate looks to be about to lose, they run and scurry to the enemy leaving us with their mess.

Rats/RINOs won't be let back in, they are nothing but spineless, sniveling, sychophants. There won't be forgiveness (even if some of us are Christians) for these traitors. Next time, we'll be following Palin, Thompson, Romney, Keyes, Steele, Pence, Tancredo, Bachmann and other true conservatives. The gates will be locked and the vermin will be left out in the rain...

I won't be sending money to the RNC again. All of my campaign donations (if I can afford it after the Dems are done with me) will be going to individual politicians. I'm seriously considering closing out my 401k, taking all of my money out of the bank and moving the wife and kids to Alaska, or somewhere else remote to weather the coming dissolution of the US.

God help us.

Plus the sure-to-come Falklands-like surprise popping out of nowhere.

This is the one that scares me the most. Don't know when, don't know where, don't know what, but I do know that we'll probably have a novice in the White House thinking, "Oh crap, now I have to make some decisions..."

Question to you all: Any thoughts about where this Falklands-like surprise may come from? Just curious.

[...] Krauthammer’s endorsement - Ed Morrissey Krauthammer calls Obama’s foreign-policy instincts “flabby”, but we can apply that to the thinking of other conservatives who have endorsed Obama. Ken Adelman followed Christopher Buckley in engaging in little more than wishing on a birthday candle that Obama will become more conservative once he wins the election. Neither of them gave any evidence to believe that Obama would do so. Instead of treating this election as a choice between a centrist and a hard-Left ideologue, Adelman and Buckley indulged in spite over their distaste for McCain and wound up making fools of themselves. ++++++++ Fools for Obama (tags: barack_obama) [...]

I like Charles a ton and have always found his commentary to be outstanding. However his disdain for Sarah and diminishment of her and what she adds to the ticket really annoy me.

Frankly, Sarah is the best thing McCain has ever done. This race wouldnt even be close without her. Can't believe someone as smart as Krauthammer cannot acknowledge that

I see Obama becoming more liberal after he takes office, never more conservative. He's hanging out in the center for now to lure people into thinking he's going to stay there. He will LUNGE to the left the moment he takes office and probably set records for leftwing governing. This man will say or do anything to get into office, then thumb his nose at everyone and go about his merry way. Pelosi doesn't see this yet. It's going to hit the fan when she realizes he won't be her sock puppet.

From "The Corner" Andy McCarthy refers to the proposed Department of Peace and Justice (actually in a House bill). Is this how Barney Frank will maneuver his 25% cut in Defense in an Obama administration?

Lord, help us. Orwell was not kidding.

BTW I saw a professionally printed lawn sign yesterday that said "Democrats for McCain".

I posted this earlier on the headlines thread, but it applies here too:

After this election, regardless of what happens, there will be a shaking up of conservatism. People such as me who are disaffected Democrats and others will join and embrace our fellow conservatives while the co-opted East Coast glitterati will continue to gravitate towards Obama and the Washington establishment. The East Coast glitterati will be disowned by us–we will not accept their leadership, nor will we support them in any way, manner, or form. We will find our own intellectual and political leadership as we chart our own course, taking what we find best from our forebears: Reagan, Goldwater, Eisenhower, all the way back to Lincoln and Jefferson and from across the seas to Burke, Hume, and Locke. To that, we will add our own unique contributions thanks to thinkers such as Krauthammer, Thomas Sowell, and Victor Davis Hanson, along with new voices, communicators such as Rush Limbaugh and others, and leaders such as Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal, and others.

We do not need the glitterati. We will do just fine on our own. It might take us a while to get going and it won’t be easy as the Democratic Party will do its best to maintain its monopoly on power by crushing opposing voices, but we will persevere and we will succeed in the end.

Later on in the thread, someone suggested that we get together a list of all the Glitterati Faux-Conservatives who have cut and run. I would suggest that that is a good idea. We do not vote for any of these individuals should they run for office, we do not watch or listen to their programs, do not read their columns, do not patronize their websites, do not buy their books, do not support them in any way, manner, or form. We ostracize them.

Looking forward, does anybody think that Sarah, after getting more experience on national issues, could get on Chuck’s good side before 2012?

I think she can, actually. Krauthammer impresses me as the sort who thinks that actions speak louder than words. She gets some more experience under her belt (without falling prey to the corruption of the system), shows him what we all know about her--that she's a quick study and and adept learner--and he'll be on board.

C.K. is the main reason I watch the evening news on Fox.
Many times I tune in late, just to try and catch his comments.
I don’t always agree with him but always enjoy his opinions and he often changes my thought process on a particular topic.
He’s that enlightening-almost always learn something each time I listen to him on air.
Thank you C.K.

Looking forward, does anybody think that Sarah, after getting more experience on national issues, could get on Chuck's good side before 2012?

Charles Krauthammer has stepped up to the plate and manned up. Our principles define who and what we are. Noonan, Buckley, Powell and the other fair-weather 'conservatives' have shown themselves to be empty as they willingly allowed themselves to be co-opted in exchange for perqs and access in a possible New Obama Order. It is in times such as this that you find out who has principles and who doesn't.

It would most poetic justice if McCain and Palin win this election leaving the faux-conservatives sucking oxygen...

Manly Rash:

I don't think Kristol or Barnes need to be on that list. I don't always agree with them but so far as I know they have not endorsed Obama. In fact Kristol was out there supporting Palin when Krauthammer was very critical of both her and McCain.

Krauthammer is right I think.

I just can not understand how someone who calls himself or herself a conservative can endorse Obama, because of Palin or because McCain pissed them off in the campaign or anything else. How can you take any of these people seriously again?
