Powell, Ken Adelman, now this tool. McCain should run an ad saying, “If I’m George Bush, why are his cronies all voting for Barack Obama?”

DUDE! Someone needs to do that so fast! McCain’s campaign would never do it but that is the best 180 degrees to a positive direction on some nasty stuff I’ve EVAH heard! Are you sure you’re really pessimistic?

Can’t somebody have a differing viewpoint and still share the core values of your politics?

Scottie was never a top level Bush administration official. He was a press secretary for awhile. He was not a decision maker.

Well, yes, technically you’re correct when it comes to his job description Terrye, but I can’t agree with the rest of what you said. Scott McClellan played a major role in the Bush administration. He was the front man for George Bush. Had direct contact with the President. Daily contact, in fact. This guy was an insider to the highest levels of the U.S. Government. He was the man the Republicans put out there to deal with the media daily. Flip on the TV and who did we see answering questions, clarifying, clearing up, and commenting for the Republican party — Scott McClellan. Now, when somebody like that endorses Barack Obama, that’s just wacked. Barack Obama isn’t even close to the center. Think about it. What is going on in Govt? Like I said, I don’t see how Americans can have confidence in their representatives when stuff like this happens.

And Powell has worked for both parties over the years. He was never a strong conservative in terms of domestic issues. He got the job as Secretary of State because of his experience in the field of foreign affairs. His attitude about things like affirmative action and abortion were not issues there.

Colin Powell was an insider at top levels of the Bush administration. That is, a decision maker for the Republican party. I agree that he’s known as a moderate Republican. Still, I don’t know how Mr. Powell endorses one of the most far left liberals in America over John McCain unless this man is a phony conservative or he’s voting with his people group. And that’s the whole point. Not all Republicans are Conservative and I think that’s a real problem. I view it as scamming the faithful. Recently Powell said, “I have some concerns about the direction that the (Republican) party has taken in recent years. It has moved more to the right than I would like to see it.” He said, “I would have difficulty with two more Republican appointments to Surpeme Court.” I mean, how could somebody like that have ever been out there representing the conservative movement in America with views like that! I think that’s deceptive which is my other point. Bottom line: I think Mr. Powell is more interested in helping Barack Obama become the first black President of the United States than he is conserving Conservative values. And that’s his right. He can do what he wants. But, that’s a betrayal of conservatives! I mean, this is just appalling.

But I do agree that much of the leadership has failed us.

It is a disaster and it breaks my heart. We need completely new leadership.

Well to answer my question, I do. I would be embarrassed if he voted for McCain.

Obama suits him. They can throw people under the bus together and call it “hope”.

I never could figure out why GW picked Scott as press sec. . . . That will always be a puzzle.

I really don’t think it’s a big mystery. One of the President’s major flaws is his cronyism. He had a blind spot for incompetence caused by his irrational belief that the people he knew personally had to be the best.
