Surprise: Scott McClellan votin’ for Obama

posted at 7:34 pm on October 23, 2008 by Allahpundit

Not a surprise, actually. He tossed some chum to the left about it earlier this year as part of his Take Me Seriously book tour, remember?

Powell, Ken Adelman, now this tool. McCain should run an ad saying, “If I’m George Bush, why are his cronies all voting for Barack Obama?”

Update: It’s not just Scotty Mac.

He needs to get that point worked into his interviews asap.

BadgerHawk on October 23, 2008 at 7:38 PM

This endorsement, like that of Powell and Adelman, says way more about the judgment of the guy who picked them, Pres. Bush, than it does about either Obama or McCain.

What a pathetic group, really, the Bush Administration. I suppose we can look forward to Brownie’s endorsement; and Gonzo’s; and Paulson’s. Yek!

I do like that. But they can always counter with ‘because they were duped by Bush and have seen the light.’ or some such garbage.

That’s actually not a bad idea.

“Obama likes to compare me to George Bush, but I’m not the one getting all the votes in the Bush cabinet.”

Meanwhile if Obama is winning, why all the vandalism? I mean it is in the bag for Obama, See: ACORN is a not for Profit, non Partisan community organization. Haven’t the Obama supporters, been watching CNN/CBS/ABC/NBC/MSNBC….you get the point. If they are winning, shouldn’t they be in a better mood. If this is how they act up to Election Day, what happens the day after?

Cicero43 on October 23, 2008 at 7:53 PM

For some people, choosing a party affiliation is a necessary and required step in order to try to advance in politics and gain some personal power. It isn’t ideologically based.

I always had the feeling that Bill Clinton said that to the young conservative co-ed Hillary Rodham. He explained to her that the path to power was attainable through two routes, not just one, and then told her how uninformed poor people could be used as stepping stones to power.

So it’s no surprise that Obama has some new “Republican” fans. They’re not Republicans, and they’re not Democrats. They’re merely Opportunists.

To me, these defections beg the question “were they ever really conservatives/Republicans or were they merely along for the ride?”.

Powell, Adelman, McClelland, et al ‘can not be serious!!’ (to borrow a phrase) in thinking BHO is a better POTUS candidate than John McCain. Voting for a Marxist/Socialist and thus enabling the Dems in Congress to run amuck is taking Bush Derangement Syndrome a bit toooooo far.

The likes of Bill Ayers should NEVER be in a position to spend the night in the Lincoln bedroom.

Gohawgs on October 23, 2008 at 8:04 PM

“If I’m George Bush, why are his cronies all voting for Barack Obama?”

With the race getting closer, that could fit into a 15-second spot very nicely. Follow it up with an “I’m my own man taking us in a new direction don’t be misled by the Dems” spin…

petefrt on October 23, 2008 at 8:22 PM

McCain should run an ad saying, “If I’m George Bush, why are his cronies all voting for Barack Obama?”

…good point!

To call McClellan a bottom-feeder would necessitate a letter of apology to the International Guild of Catfish, which I’m not prepared to do. I can think of few critters in nature to which to compare him which would not likewise require me to go, hat in hand, before some tribunal of invertebrates and answer for the comparison.

…pond scum isn’t organized, so far as I know, so I might just escape scrutiny there. Then again, that comparison might be taken as a defamation of Congress….

So, permit me to say that Mr. McClellan is in a class all his own…separate from the food chain, as nothing, not even mosquitos, could stomach him…which makes him a singular creature in Creation…if he’s a Catholic, he has a good chance of sainthood…200 years from now, his shenanigans will be forgotten, and his body, if found, will have escaped corruption….

…even worms will leave him be…and bacteria will extend him professional courtesy….

Here is the thing Scott McCellan, he was selling his Endorsement on Ebay, his book wasn’t moving. All that money Obama has, he is just gonna do his endorsement shopping on the Internet.

That gives me an idea for an online storefront “Endorsements Are Us” or “Endorsements for Dummys” or “Do you need an Endorsement because you skrewed the President of the U.S. and can’t get one of your own anymore” because you are an untrustworthy weasel…Okay, I am spit balling here but you get the idea. Endorsements, Obama is that all you got? Scott McCellan aka the Billy Mays Endorsement.

Along these lines, same with Powell.

I can’t believe today, in media, Obama campaigners, Democrats, even TRYING to maintain some standard of respect for Powell.

Look at who Powell is now aligned with, in agreement with:

Fidel Castro
Ahmadinajad
Putin
Hamas
Iran
Hugo Chavez
American Communist Party
Bill Ayers
Bernadette Dorn

…all of whom have endorsed Obama.

S on October 23, 2008 at 8:40 PM

The more the merrier! There will be a whole bunch of ‘em peering through the White House windows, their eyes bloodshot from crying and their mouths sore from gnashing. McCain can then walk to the window… and pull down the shade.

I don’t know if I want McCain to win more because 1) I want to see McCain/Palin to win, 2) Obama to lose, or 3) the MSM to lose it completely! I’m thinking door #3!

Stolen.

The Ugly American on October 23, 2008 at 8:55 PM

why are his cronies all voting for Barack Obama?”

Three words: War Crimes Hearings

by Evan Sayet
Colin Powell knew he was hated — in only the way The Left can hate — within the Democrat Party. He was not only a “house nigg-r” — a Republican — who was nothing less than the Secretary of State who made the case for liberating the Iraqi people from the clutches of Saddam Hussein. It was this “Uncle Tom” who “lied us into war” and the leftists HATED him.

There is no one who doesn’t recognize the hate and vindictiveness that so dominates today’s Democrat party. This meant that, should the leftists take control of the government in two weeks and go through with what prominent leftist leaders in the Senate have promised would be “war crimes” prosecutions against fellow Americans (read: opposition party leaders), Powell might well be first on their list.

The purpose of these prosecutions, of course, would be to solidify the leftists’ hold on government, to intimidate others from defending America in the future (remember, “war is not the answer”) and, in the case of Powell, provide yet another public lesson to blacks who dare to not toe the leftist line of bitterness, entitlement and “oppression.”

Powell recognized that, perhaps he could avoid the wrath of the leftist party if he came out in support of the leftist party. It was, in essence, a quid pro quo. Powell would help Obama win in exchange for “leniency.”

Further evidence that this might well be the reason Obama is supporting a radical leftist when he has long claimed to be a Republican is that, in his appearance on “Meet the Press,” Powell could not and did not offer a single policy of Obama’s that he agrees with, nor did he speak at all of Obama’s accomplishments. Instead he offered the usual arguments one hears from Obama “supporters,” basically the Chris Matthews line that he “sends tingles up my legs” when he speaks.
