…that’s why they can’t be trusted with democracy, and folks like Hillary should be guided to safe seats, and Obama should just be annointed and we’ll all just have to get over it.

This line never fails to crack me up. When a conservative like Bush lowers taxes for the rich far more than for the middle class, it’s NEVER described as redistribution. Even when every major study over the last several years has concluded that Bush has accomplished a massive redistribution from the middle class to the rich. As Warren Buffet said, he and other guys who collect dividend checks as income never had it so good. Their tax rate has been fixed at 15%, with zero payroll taxes.

But talk about raising taxes on the rich back to Clinton era levels, it’s called wealth redistribution. Doesn’t anyone see the irony here?

The sad thing is that so many average working class people are completely fooled by this argument. Instead of trusting people like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, people tend to believe the scions of the Walton and other inherited fortunes who also write big checks to Republican candidates. I can only feel sorry for these people- they really don’t have much of a future as long as they vote against their own economic self interests.

I am Sheila, Courier and Computer Tech.
I use to work for a famous Record Producer, He is Rep. He won’t be voting for BO. I made a hell of a lot of money. And I spent that money. When I decided to quit working in Disney Land. I realized that one must love his job. I never felt like I had accomplished much. Last 9 years I have accomplished more than I can imagine. Would be nice to make a lot more money. But the smiles and joy that my clients have. Makes me feel richer.
