Via the Standard. In these trying times, our opponents’ tedious political stunts provide vital, comforting continuity. Will they come after The One if he doubles down in Afghanistan? Assume nothing, my friends.
Exit question: Is Karl Rove a defeatist?

Rove always wins.

…Biden just promised the world that an Obama election would mean an international crisis involving the USA.
However, the important thing for this little twit to end his report with is “Will Palin cost McCain the election?”
San Francisco. Zombie, you can have it.
MadisonConservative on October 22, 2008 at 10:51 AM
Powell and Adelman were smart … Rove not so much.
CanadianGuy on October 22, 2008 at 10:51 AM
I saw the vid on Fox last night. Is it me or did it seem like a long time for security to get up on stage and get her out?
vcferlita on October 22, 2008 at 10:52 AM
I hope the police put her in her own handcuffs. That would be beautiful.

I question the timing…just sayin ~B
Brian on October 22, 2008 at 10:52 AM
I love the exit question by the reporter “Will Sarah Palin cost McCain the election?” That is a loaded question. A less biased media would have said that they are asking Rove, “What affect has Sarah Palin had on the election?”
However, I think the better question might have been, “Will John McCain cost Sarah Palin the election?”
DWSC on October 22, 2008 at 10:53 AM
two questions, how did she get on stage and how did those cuffs pass security?… I’m willing to dare to think people within the hall who were responsible for this meeting were complicit.
MNDavenotPC on October 22, 2008 at 10:53 AM
So a group who trashes the US while sucking up to a foreign dictator and self proclaimed enemy of the US in Caracas, is accusing Rove of treason? I earlier noted the zenith of moral relativism was the Obama supporter who called our founders terrorists – this one takes the prize. Or, maybe I need to add a new category – cognitive dissonance.
Vashta.Nerada on October 22, 2008 at 10:53 AM
Oh, don’t ask that and supply that link. wise_man’s spleen exploded last time I did that.

I’m all for making a citizen’s arrests for treason. Let’s start by making room at Gitmo for that Code Pinko twit.
Laura in Maryland on October 22, 2008 at 10:53 AM
The shape of things to come. First thing Obama and a Democrat Congress are going to do is go out after the Bush administration for “crimes against humanity” or some other charge. Count on it.

Oh wait, that would mean Nancy Pelosi and possibly Barack Obama as well. Shucks.

Rove is a defeatist only if you believe North Dakota is going to vote Obama.
Uh, yeah. There’s no way Rove even believes that.

Can I make a citizen’s arrest of the Code Pink broad?
TooTall on October 22, 2008 at 11:01 AM
Ok, you decide to try that with Obarky at one of his campaign rallies, put him under citizen’s arrest for conspiracy to commit voter fraud.
How quickly does the press destroy everything about you?
The bidding starts at one hour.
Bishop on October 22, 2008 at 11:02 AM
Karl was sharp-she was trying to distract him with that “No woman up here?” question.
These protesters become self-fulfilling prophesies by their actions. They diminish the Liberal brand, and solidify the moderates belief that the Left cannot be trusted with power. These women protesters drive moderates to vote Conservative. Which drives the loony Left further into waka waka land.
It’s all good!
Doug on October 22, 2008 at 11:03 AM
Exit answer: A reluctant realist?
And a lurch of loon toon leftist eating their own? That’s inconceivable!
How dare you, Sir.

I was joking … but if Evan Sayet is right, Powell and Adelman were backing Obama trying to avoid war crimes hearings.
CanadianGuy on October 22, 2008 at 11:04 AM
Rove should have thrust his hand into her chest, ripped out her heart and showed it to her before she died.
That would have got the paranoid lefties talking.
EnglishMike on October 22, 2008 at 11:06 AM
I don’t know why Rove even bothers going to a foreign city like San Francisco.
Star20 on October 22, 2008 at 11:06 AM
If this means that the Left now supports the crime of treason, it’s great! Can we now put on trial our traitors like the NYT editors who revealed to the terrorists how we track their source of fund?
thuja on October 22, 2008 at 11:07 AM
By the looks of her, she’ll shuffle off proudly to her mansion, her servants, her botox and her thorazine and tell her cats how she spoke “truth to power”.

What would be really funny is if Karl Rove started carrying one of those personal tazers and zapped that dippy broad with it.
‘Don’t taze me, bro’ indeed.
Religious_Zealot on October 22, 2008 at 11:11 AM
Depends. His realistic political analysis would cause some HA posters to scream that he is nothing but an “Obama supporter who wants the terrorists to win, the UN to take over the American government, and the end of the free market.” All because he dares speak the truth.
McCain hasn’t lost yet but he’s not in a good place and the sooner one faces up to the reality that Obama is likely to be elected the easier it will be to consider the alternatives to keep the nation from completely going down the crapper.
highhopes on October 22, 2008 at 11:11 AM
Yup,
The moment she reached for his arm was the moment it became Rove’s manifest right to mop the floor with her. The fact that she wasn’t arrested says all you need to know about SF.
Like others here, I believe one of this wangers believes that Archduke Ferdinand had it coming and sooner or later will try to relive history.

Damn. I should have been at that convention. I’ve been to 8 of the last 10 MBA conventions, but I am currently unemployed and did not want to spend the bucks to go to San Francisco. They always have good political programs at these conventions and they have often made news. The new Chairman of MBA is a good friend of mine – he is the guy sitting to Mitchell’s left in the video. I’ll have to get his firsthand story about this incident. Looks like they handled it pretty well.
ACORN and ANSWER have been protesting at this convention too. First time MBA has ever had to deal with the loony Left.

It definitely SOUNDS like something they’d do, but they kind of disdain the whole “undercover operation” thing (i.e. no pink clothes).
Religious_Zealot on October 22, 2008 at 11:25 AM
Why would Rove put himself in that situation? Karl this is San Francisco………HELLO!!
try again later on October 22, 2008 at 11:25 AM
No joke, I would sure like to know how she got in. Security at these MBA conventions is extremely tight. Two years ago they had Bill Clinton speak and we all had to go through metal detectors. This lady must have gotten a fake credential from someone, or she had a pal inside the Moscone Center who got her in through the kitchen or something. She was obviously dressed like a mortgage banker to avoid attracting attention until she ran on stage. But everybody at those meetings has to have an official convention badge to get in to anything.
rockmom on October 22, 2008 at 11:26 AM
Anyone could have sneaked in a gun!!!! then what would have happened?
grapeknutz on October 22, 2008 at 11:26 AM
We have Joe the Plumber, they have Joan the Perp.
We show civility, they act like circus monkeys.
We support our troops, they support the Republican Guard.
We love our country, they love Eurabia.
We love apple pie, they love laced brownies.
We go to work each day, they want what we earn.
We salute old glory, they walk on it and burn it.
On Novmber 4th, will good triumph over evil?
fogw on October 22, 2008 at 11:28 AM
They infiltrated the Republican convention while McCain was on stage… If they can infiltrate that, they can infiltrate any event.
TheBigOldDog on October 22, 2008 at 11:29 AM
Why is there no woman up here?!
Rove played that completely wrong. He should have wailed, “I surrender! Prosecute me for my crimes!” and let her cuff him and start leading him away. That would have been hilarious – I don’t think she would know what to do!
JohnW on October 22, 2008 at 11:30 AM
$50,000 honorarium. Mortgage Bankers convention. Who would expect anything like what happened there? Besides, Rove is used to it. He has a thick skin. He is not going to be cowed into silence by these leftist trolls.
MBA has been posting most of its major sessions on its website. I haven’t checked yet to see if they put this one up but it was on their schedule to be posted.

Yeah, the woman thing was pretty funny. Two years ago MBA had a female Chairman, and at this session they had Greta Van Susteren interviewing Madeline Albright about foreign policy and the war on terror. They have also had Donna Brazile and Ann Coulter (THAT was a riot, let me tell you), and Carville and Matalin. This year they just ended up with a male Chairman and two men speaking. Luck of the draw.
I wish Rove had said, “we have a woman on our national ticket, how about your side?”

Karl Rove is practicing capitalism and making money as is George Mitchell, an influence and very rich lobbyist. He has his now and will probably make more if Obama wins than if McCain wins traveing the circuit.
The code pink ladies will have worms eat their flesh some day but it seems they’ve already eaten away at some of their brain tissue.

That’s sick.
Many of us boomers served our country, worked hard all of our lives and behaved ourselves in the process. The hippies were a small fragment of the population, blown out of proportion by the media. Flyover country back then was no different than it is today.
There might have been a lot more of us, had it not been for the 400,000 Americans who died in WWII before they had a chance to come home to their sweethearts and raise a family.
We’re not all hippie losers. Most of us ARE NOT.

- the security people need to be fired for letting her get anywhere NEAR the stage and for her being able to sneak in a pair of handcuffs
- the media group that gave her a badge to get in should be publicly outed and stricken from future invitations
- the lady should have been tazed. Repeatedly. And then assault charges filed against her

Those breasts are twice as destructive as any bomb we have!
If we put them, topless, on the front lines our enemies would be incapacitated by involuntary retching and trying to claw their eyes out.
BTW – what, exactly, is their “motive” in ‘breasts not bombs”? Why do they think going topless is going to change anyone’s minds? Or is this simply a matter of people finding any excuse they can to indulge in some public exposure?

Karl Rove needs to carry a travel sized can of pepper spray at all times for just such an occasion.
Maybe with a strap behind his wrist so he can shoot it out when he lifts his hand, spiderman style. If he would do this to the next protester or two, then the left would lead their blogs for weeks on how he’s been genetically modified by the CIA to attack these innocent patriotic Americans who valiantly try to bring this criminal to justice.
wise_man on October 22, 2008 at 12:12 PM
Now which would be more satisfying? Mace, fists, or just pulling out a .44 Magnum?
If the camera could just get a look at the protestors’ face when he pulls out the latter, it would be worth it 20 times over. I’m sure the Secret Service could grant him a national concealed carry license.

Fort Jackson is South Carolina, just a short hop from Fort Gordon, GA.
Mississippi does have Camp Shelby, though. It’s a National Guard base rather than an army base, but it’s the biggest Guard base in the country, and very active right now. Many of the troops headed to the Middle East go through it.

Color this anyway you want but if you have the time to read the articles you will find conclusively that Evans from Code Pink knew that the money was going at the least, to the families of terrorists. Only in present day American could a group of people get away with that level of treason and sedition and have the temerity to call the president and his administration treasonous.
The level of hate I learn from the Left, mounts daily.
