It's interesting to note that some analysts think that Iran will need to start behaving itself because of Obama:

Don't kid yourself. The big winner over the last 8 years in the Middle East has been Iran. It's power and sphere of influence have been greatly enhanced due to Bush policies.

It is troubling to read comments here. You are telling us(the rest of the world)the U.S is the greatest, richest, most powerful, most innovation for all to aspire to be like.
But disagree with your politic's then they are terrorists?Obama/Osama-you all should be ashamed.

The U.S election is followed closely around the world ,which may seem odd in America.
Your domestic policies, like your health system etc isn't of much interest.
It's your FOREIGN POLICY -not even right wing foreign policy ,your joint history over the last 50 years and future predictions.

So excuse us for thinking it's not funny for John McCain to sing bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.
'Wipe Israel off the map'-never said it.The belief that Iran is the biggest threat to freedom in the middle east-WHAT.? Iran will carpet bag Iraq?.

It's this 'i can see Russia from my house' Bush like knowledge of the world that makes us doubt your sanity.
It is not that we love Obama ,it would be anyone from any party who recognises what the Bush doctrine has done to the world, that by the way we share.

First Jimmy Carter, then Bill Clinton and now boy wonder Obama- these dems have straw spines and offer nothing but appeasement. Dictators everywhere will rejoice if BO is elected. The dimocrats Clinton and Carter have proven this already. Our country doesn't need a celebrity, we need a leader. God help us to gain seats in the House and Senate.

I sort of agree with you Moj. Anti-Reagan!
Fairness doctrine will come back etc.

FOlks need to know the "test" the next President will face could very well be Iran carpet-bagging Iraq when we're looking the other way with the unrest Obama would cause for one, and perhaps a fake swoosh on Isreal to start it off. Todays world isnt something to be taken lightly people. Russia could then feel free to mix it up in the Ukraine. So you have Putin and Iran's Akjbeijiilooobad or whatever his name is to potentially deal with. We dont have time for Obama's on the job training.

Steal yourselves for disastrous times and internal strife. If Obama is elected we'll see the Constitution stomped into the ground. Does anybody really understand what is about to happen to us . . . get ready to say hello to the “Union of Socialist States of America” (USSA).

They see Obama as another Jimmy Carter and as someone they can push around and get concessions from.

Dreadnought223 on October 22, 2008 at 10:26 PM

In other words, the Iranians have accurately sized up Obama as the weak-kneed, appeasement-loving tool that he is. Is it any wonder that Obama is the preferred candidate for crazy Iranians, terror groups like Hamas, Commie thugs like Kim Jong Il, Fidel Castro, and Hugo Chavez, or that he is the officially endorsed candidate of the Communist Party, USA?

No American in his or her right mind should even be considering voting for the candidate that all of America's worst enemies are so eager to see in the White House.

I am so glad that Dave is a Canuck and can not vote in our elections. I don't go to Canadian political sites and harass them it would be nice if they would return the favor.

But then again, what else does a Canadian have to talk about but America?

By the way..Can't you just see all those Iranians showing up at their Death to America rallies wearing Obama buttons with those weird little circle seals on them? They could chant Obama! Obama! instead of Death to America.

same difference.

It makes perfect sense that Osama would support McCain and visa versa Iran would support Obama.

Osama and his minions have been targeted and obliterated under our aggressive stance. "Take the fight to them" is the right course of action. Osama is trying reverse psychology yet again, hoping it works this time, hoping the American public takes his offer—we’ll bankrupt you by a thousand cuts.

Iran, thus far, has avoided payback for their murderous treachery in Iraq and elsewhere, as have their non-state actors Hamas and Hezbollah. Iran is playing the diplomacy card for fools at the table willing to double down yet again. “Lets talk it out”. Until we get nukes…then we’ll dictate the terms.

This is a classic tag team by enemies on an apparently exhausted opponent.

Who is the worse enemy?

Only deluded liberals wanting out of a war they never understood in the first place would choose Iran’s offer…

“Bomb, bomb, bomb…bomb, bomb Iran” a comment made in jest carries serious weight…McCain scares the Mullahs silly.

Anyone who doesn’t recognize Iran’s existential threat to freedom in the Middle East and elsewhere is lost, not worth confronting.

Sad times we live in.

A Martian who reviewed Obama's past elections in Illinois, the various associations he once cultivated, his brief voting record in the Senate, and the positions he originally outlined when he announced his presidential campaign might objectively conclude that America could elect either the most far left or the most unknown presidential candidate in its history.

I just hope that it is still not racist or McCarthy-like -- or blasphemous -- simply to suggest that.
