Castration would actually be helpful to people like that. It might depress the sex drive, although cheating is more than just the sex drive.

I would categorize having to endure learning of multiple affairs in the glare of the national media as spousal abuse and, therefore, one of those situations where divorce/anullment is valid.

Some women don’t leave because of a prenuptial agreement. Is the money worth it?

Pre-nups are more accurately described as a pre-marriage divorce settlement. Pre-nups essenatially say “I love you or whatever but not as much as I love my assets.”

And when they don’t? Or, when they say they will and lie to you?

Tough question to answer hypothetically because the context matters including how close these friends are, the personalities involved, my relationship to them, etc….

In general, I’d probably go to the spouse and let them know what is going on. That, of course, is a risk because the spouse may already know what is going on but is in denial and will resent the interference. But, I just don’t see myself being able to be friends with either if I know of an affair and am forced to pretend that I don’t know what is going on by remaining silent. I’d rather have both of them angry at me than to be an enabler to something that goes against the word of God.

Unfortunately, since he is a Democrat, the media will say nothing and single women will still vote for him and say his private life is nobodies business. Murtha slanders innocent military men but will pay no price. Bill Jefferson hides $90,000 of bribe money in his freezer but pays no price. Barney Frank whose false claims that there was not pending financial crises headed of any attempts to prevent it will pay no price. Bill Clinton’s polls among Democrats just went up whenever he got in trouble.

I guess all we can fall back on for Democrats is the old saw that virtue is its own reward because it has no other value for them.

Too bad Elliott Spritzer’s wife doesn’t have the same gumption that the soon-to-be ex Mrs Mahoney has and drop Spritzer the Schmuck like a hot potato. Instead, they were recently seen having a grand old time celebrating their anniversary like nothing had ever happened.

I agree enthusiastically with all that you said. We are still madly in love with each other, I buy her flowers every month, we go on weekly dates, I tell her every day she’s the best wife in the world. But as long as I’m human, I’ll still need God’s grace.

I completely agree.

I misunderstood you, and I’m very glad. It sounds like you actually work on your marriage. That’s the thing I think many couples forget about.

I think many assume it’s supposed to be easy and decide not to even try and then later wonder what went wrong.
