The point here is that there are incidents that will enacted by our enemies in response to an Obama presidency that would be shelved if McCain is elected.

Why take the chance at all? Why not just elect the man that sends a message of strength and tenacity to both enemies and allies abroad?

Because at least when America is attacked, we'll all have free gubmint healthcare to treat us and a $300 check to start replacing the thousands we lost in our investments.

And Kennedy dealt with a rational enemy in 1961. What kind of signals would Barack Obama send the apocalyptic Iranian mullahcracy in his drive to hold a summit with no preconditions with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? Would they also see him as a weakling and start a war with Israel as a result?

Yes. Israel will have to fend for itself if Obama wins.

Obama won't win.

ernesto on October 22, 2008 at 10:15 AM

The best answer came from Bolton when he appeared on H&C the other night: Colmes was whining about how Osama Obama (rightfully) wants to talk to the enemies of America, and Bolton replied, "what is he going to say?"

That's the nut of the whole thing. An inexperienced, Marxist fool whose mind has to have been clouded by his associations (Ayers, Odinga, et al) won't have much to say other than the same frothy platitudes about "hope" and "change" he has been mouthing on the campaign trail. Moreover, having weakened the military -- as he has said he'll do -- and sent a clear message by cutting and running in Iraq, he will already have telegraphed his "punches."

We'll soon find out, won't we? The trolls of the nation seem set to get their way, and have as president a man who will plunge the nation into a modern Dark Ages (yeah, I know, that's racist) of capitulation, financial ruin and totalitarianism.

When a desperate McCain tries it, why sure, of course, he’s ready to be president right now, and that other guy, no way…

Do you really wonder why the Captain and Tennille aren’t selling…

sanguine4 on October 22, 2008 at 10:13 AM

Where do you people come from? Under a rock?

John McCain spent 6 years in a POW camp and survived. He learned his lesson from the Keating scandal.

Hillary has never been tested like that.

And Obama is a vile scumbag Chicago politician who pals around with unrepentant terrorists, slum lord thieves, black supremest pastors, and people involved in voter fraud.

The level of obtuseness you have reached is staggering.

I see Drybalzz is back. He isn't worth commenting on. I remember the Cuban Crisis. My mom and dad were very scared, as was a lot of people. Maybe we are lucky that Biden opened his mouth. Maybe he is having second thoughts of being NOBAMA's VP. I believe that McCain would handle a crisis if one came up. He is not a wimp. And true, we don't know how one would handle a situation. But McCain would do the right thing. I do remember when Clinton let Bin Laden go. So glad I didn't vote for Clinton in the first nor the second election. I can smell a rat when he is out of his cage.

I would disagree, but only in that Obama's lack of a paper trail only obscures what a catastrophe his policies will always be. I don't think he will get any better with age.
Dave wants to paint a picture of a crazed psychopath hiding behind the doormat, but the reality is Obama has been selling doormat and toady to the rest of the world. Our enemies are not going to "test" him, they are going to try to take advantage of the weakness he is advertising. 9/11 was not a test of Bush, it was an attack on the people of the US to take advantage of a weakness of the US people that the Clinton years had convinced bin Laden was there.

McCain sitting in a jet on an aircraft carrier waiting for orders does not count as making tough decisions in the face of a crisis.

Actually--that was the way Fox News reported it last night.

A liberal's definition of engagement is a meeting with Gavin Newsom at City Hall.

US Military Dictionary: engagement
n. a fight or battle between armed forces.

We are engaged in Iraq and Afghanistan. Russia, Iran, Syria, et all, really don't care to be engaged with John McCain. They would rather be at a bridal shower with Obama.

Uh guys, someone has sabotaged McCain's bio on Wiki. Anyone know how to report or change it? I've emailed the campaign.

Here's how it starts out:

John Sidney McCain III (born August 29, 1936) is a compulsive cocksucker that cannot keep his pruny hands off of small children and is the senior United States Senator from Arizona and presidential nominee of the Republican Party in the 2008 presidential election.

You have no way of knowing which candidate the terrorists would prefer, nor o you have any idea how McCain or Obama would react to any crisis, because neither of them have ever been in the position. McCain sitting in a jet on an aircraft carrier waiting for orders does not count as making tough decisions in the face of a crisis. - Dave Rywall on October 22, 2008 at 10:17 AM

Review McCain's military career. It consisted of much more than sitting in a jet fighter on the deck of a carrier. Obama has no military experience - at least Kennedy commanded a PT boat in the war. Nevertheless, Kennedy's foreign policy was a disaster (Bay of Pigs, Vienna Summit) mitigated only by the fact tha we barely managed to avoid nuclear war (Missile Crisis).

McCain is an older, wiser man with considerable political experience and wisdom. Obama is a young neophyte with less national political experience than Kennedy had.

McCain has made it pretty clear by now that his foreign policy will be a Reagan redux. His long tenure in politics left a voluminious paper trail that anyone can peruse to understand how he thinks.

Obama has no paper trail. At all. Hs transcripts, theses - even his medical records - are all sealed. Other than what he has said in public during his campaign and told us in his 2 books, we have no idea how or what he tinks. The man is a complete cipher. What he has told about about his foreign policy intentions makes it clear that he'll be a Jimmy Carter redux.

And we all know how well THAT went, don't we?

Sorry, Dave. Unless you are being wilfully obtuse, even you have to admit that our enemies would much rather have Obama in the White House than McCain.

Obama's foreign policy (at long last):

Russia: Don't invade anyone. If you do, show restraint

Iran: Don't build a nuke. If you do, we'll increase our engagement to mind-numbingly boring levels

Chavez: I'm not the boss of him

China: I can see China from my grandma's house in Hawaii

Israel: Two-state solution (Israel get's the parts below ground)

The cartoon should have had Kerry(Sec.State)and Hagel(Se.Def.)in the back seat clutching each other in fear. What a quartet that will be if Obambi should win.
