Video: Tito the construction worker vs. David the journalist on Joe the Plumber

posted at 4:12 pm on October 21, 2008 by Allahpundit

Via the Standard, you read the Byron York article. Now see the movie! Featuring an introduction by Mother Jones lefty David Corn, lamenting the sad, sad state of American politics in which irresponsible leaders scapegoat media outlets and incite an angry rabble.

Blowback

Recipes for grizzly – to go in the section titled Hardcore Alaskan Recipes.

ManlyRash on October 21, 2008 at 6:20 PM

Are you going to have a section about how to trap said grizzly?

HornetSting on October 21, 2008 at 6:23 PM

Last time I had corn on the cob it ended up as passed corn.

When Obama and Biden attacked Joe the Plumber for asking a simple question they were sending a message to the working people of this country. If you even question our actions we will destroy you. Your voices will be heard when and where at our choosing.

The Great Cornholio.

Travis Bickle on October 21, 2008 at 6:33 PM

So this is a journalist covering a McCain rally but defending Obama and covering his talking points? Seems neutral to me…

IT RESONATED.

And, we need to keep saying that…simply answer the question without deflecting and crucifying the american citizen who asked.

We are saving that for the sequel: Alaska Cuisine the Sarah Palin Way: Gotta Kill It Before You Eat It.

Sorry, old Beavis and Butthead quote….
We don’t need Barney Frank meatgazing our conservative men.

One thing the public has learned from Joe the Plumber is don’t let the pres or a Dim get your last name.

Dasher on October 21, 2008 at 6:56 PM

So, let me see if I understand this correctly. People are mad because the press has investigated Joe W. to a more in depth degree than Barack Obama, yes?
And so, this “reporter” has now taken the next step and has actually tried to turn this around and shine the spotlight on the rest of the “Joes”?
And he is still not able to see the media bias which has everyone so fed up?

I see….

S

omeone needs to make an “I am Joe the Plumber” ad. Start it off with the clip of Barack and Joe’s exchange, then something about what’s been done to Joe and then a bunch of people like this crowd saying “I am Joe the Plumber” and the last one saying “I am Joe the Plumber and I’m voting for John McCain because I can’t afford Barack Obama for president.” Or something like that. People identify with JTP.

Fantastically great idea!!! Just show American after American from every walk of life and every color say over and over, “I am Joe the plumber!”
What a commercial that would be!!

Stop being so goddamned clever or I’m going to be compelled to take you on as a partner.

ManlyRash on October 21, 2008 at 7:47 PM

More people need to speak up just like this crowd did because when you leave it up to the media to demand answers you get what we have now. America is on the verge of being taken over by a man they hardly know.

apacalyps on October 21, 2008 at 7:48 PM

Dang. I wish this had Tito’s money quote from Byron York’s article:

“I’m better than Obama. Why? Because I’m not associated with terrorists!”

Andrew D on October 21, 2008 at 8:08 PM

You cannot reason with a mentally ill person like Corn or most of the MSM. The cop should have tazed Corn for inciting the people!

wepeople on October 21, 2008 at 8:59 PM

Wow… and that’s even after selective editing. Have no doubt that the McCain backers probably handed Corn his ass several times.

Hoodlumman on October 21, 2008 at 4:27 PM

That’s absolutely right. For example, the bit York notes where Munoz explains the 1st Amendment to Corn somehow got left on the cutting room floor.

Elliott on October 21, 2008 at 9:16 PM

How dare the plebs question a MoJo reporter?…why, they are fair-trade enlightened and respect the nuances of communism! They are far too intellectual for the likes of common blue collared men!

Black Adam on October 22, 2008 at 1:49 AM

Mccain’s cabinet:

Nunoz for Press Secretary.

Sarah Palin for Vice President

Joe The Plumber for RTreasury Secretary.

I’d feel so much more secure if ordinary people like these were in charge of the adminsitration or shaping public opinion rather than the likes of David Brooks and Hank Paulson.

promachus on October 22, 2008 at 2:41 AM

I just can’t decide…

Was this a fail for David?

Or and epic fail?

Tito and Connie- for Congress, for Senate, for the McCain/Palin cabinet

trainwife1962 on October 22, 2008 at 9:04 AM

Very diverse crowd there. So, which party is the party of inclusion? (rhetorical)

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on October 22, 2008 at 9:43 AM

Did you see that bait and switch that Corn tried to pull? He questions Tito asking if the Republican party attacks opposing candidates. But Tito isn’t mad at the Democrats. He’s mad at the media who are supposed to be impartial. Now I don’t expect any writer for Mother Jones to be impartial. But Tito’s point about the MSM is certainly valid. This isn’t about parties and candidates attacking each other it’s about the media “watchdog” being used a pitpull to attack one party.
